    Happy First Anniversary Doggy Girl!

Doggy Girl: I am so proud to know you. You've been a true friend in terms of support & encouragement & motivation. You give so selflessly here at MWO in terms of your time & energy. To me, the first anniversary is very significant! You're just at the beginning of a wonderful journey. I know it's not always going to be easy, but you'll be doing it sober.

Congratulations on a job very, very well-done. Can you have a piece of birthday cake? I hope you do.

    Love, Mary

    Happy First Anniversary Doggy Girl!

Thank you so much Mary. I am starting to feel a genuine happiness about life deep down inside of myself. I never ever felt this way through all the years of drinking. It's incredible. I hope everyone here gets a chance to experience how good life can feel without AL in the picture.

Mary I admire you so much. You always show courage and honesty. I am very happy for you that YOU have found the right combination of tools and strategies that seem to really be working for you.

WE CAN DO THIS!! (I have to do it without cake though! )

Thank you Rusty. And here's to many wonderful AF years ahead for you too. They key is figuring out how to take this thing beyond just the "not drinking" part and into the quality living part! Not easy, but well worth the effort.

You ARE an inspiration DG! I remember you when I first came here in July, you were so much more hesitant in your postings I think. It has been wonderful to watch you grow.
          Many many congratulations!!

          Great poem Oney :-)

Awesome poem Oney!! You should publish a collection of your work!! I'm going to print that one out and put it up somewhere prominent in my office.

Thanks starting. In July of '08 it had been a year since my first AF attempt which started July 11 '07 and lasted 60 days until the "I'm fixed now..." BS kicked in. Took until May 22 '08 to get my shit back together. So I'm thinking in July '08 I had only been back to AF a short little time and I'm sure my confidence was not where it is today. I am always wary of getting over confident, that's for sure. But I finally feel like I have a good game plan for sobriety with all the necessary tools in place. I just have to stay the course when the going gets rough. You too have had a remarkable year with tons of growth in evidence. Life sure is good, isn't it? At least it beats the snot out of the old life IMO.

                DoggyGirl...CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :crazymonkey:

I was 'offline' a few days and missed you AF birthday. Wow, one year - that is something to ponder. I wonder how many of us start out now knowing how far down the AF road we will go and then after putting together ODAT, we arrive at 365 days!

Your efforts have been consistent and your growth is visible. I have only been back here 6 weeks, but see that. Your efforts to remember everyone in your posts is something that encourages. You find a way to ponder your own journey and encourage others on their way.

Thank you for all your AF days!!

Sometimes I wonder...."Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"...and then it hits me.

                      DoggyGirl,

                      Once again, CONGRATULATIONS!
You have inspired me over & over. I have just reached my 2 months AF point and even though I feel good, I will never relax.......... I don't ever want to forget how lousy I was feeling when I joined MWO and started my journey. My plan is to still be here next March and celebrate my 1 year anniversary with all of you.

                      Be hapy & stay well

CONGRATULATIONS, you really are an inspiration. I was on the boards when you got your first 60 days. Its people like you who dust themselves off and go on to achieve something amazing like 1 year that inspires the rest of us to stick with MWO and try (sorry Greenie) not try but WILL follow in your footsteps.
