Hi Peace, I'm here. It's just been a crazy-busy week. WOW on your hike! That's so exciting! The scenery must be amazing there. 'Hope you have a wonderful time.

Yes, I live in the bay area (downtown SF). Like when you lived in Santa Cruz, I rarely ever drive anywhere. I never miss it, either. My favorite walk goes around AT&T park and the South Beach marina, up to the Ferry Building and then back through the city. I also like the Marin area.

Off to the gym. I hope to get there before "smelly guy" arrives!

Hello guys, wow peace, well done, you have been keeping the abbercisers thread going all by yourself. I also love to walk but with my dogs. Luckily I live very close to the sea and the mountains and enjoy both when I can.
Well after putting my back out a while back I have been fairly out of game, only managing a couple of swims. Happily I was back in the gym today 30 mins cardio 30 mins resistance and 20 lengths of the pool. Had a soak in the steam room and it feels really good.
Lilbit LOL @ 'smelly guy' hope you manage to avoid him

KTAB, glad to hear you are back at it again! Sounds like a good workout.

Lilbit and Smelly Guy sittin' in a tree. K-I-......(never mind) :H

Peace, your hikes / walks sound amazing!!! I've not been to South Dakota and hope to get there one day. (in summer :coolsanta

:b&d::sofa::b&d: to the rest of you lazy slugs!

Let's see - my last post here in this locker room (which smells like roses since Smelly Guy is not here!) was Tuesday I think. Wednesday I did cardio for 30 minutes. Thursday was PT(tm) and upper body + 25 minutes cardio - a good workout all the way around. Yesterday I did 30 minutes cardio and lower body weights. That was exhausting on my thighs!

I want to go do upper body today but MUST make some progress in the garden before I do anything else. (taking a short break for coffee right now!) So....we shall see what the rest of the weekend brings once the garden crapola is done.

OOh Peace - Kayaking is next on my 'sporting endeavours' list!
Am raring to go this week after no activity except dog walking last week. Boys are back at school tomorrow, so absolutely no excuses.
I'm moderating, and I do notice that my AL consumption creeps up when I'm not exercising, so time to crack the whip!
I've also booked a Yoga course which starts this Saturday. The centre where I have been practicing Yoga is changing out its daytime teachers all the time, which isn't the best thing. I'm looking forward to starting at the beginning and learning the basics correctly! Phew, a lot of typing for not much action.....

                    Have a great week,

ktab, i love swimming! no pool where i live...or lakes for that matter!
awesome betty...i love yoga as well and do it 2-3 times a week on my own.
i know what you mean about not exercising when drinking...this last binge i went through i thought i could keep up with the exercise and i did walk alot, but it was not as intense or heartfelt as it is when i'm not drinking.

i ended up walking to the next county today (10+ miles) because it was so beautiful outside and my dog was so happy, we just kept going! saw lots of hawks, snakes and cows!

                      peace!

Ewwwww, DG!!! :H I couldn't even get close enough to him if I wanted to. His "force field" is too strong. One of his ancestors was undoubtedly a mountain goat.

I tried High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) at the gym Saturday instead of my regular aerobics. It kicked my _ss, and it did it in half the time. I think I'll add HIIT to my routine for the near future in place of a couple of aerobic sessions. Here's an article that explains it, if anyone is interested. High Intensity Interval Training

Bets, I'm with you -- kayaking is on my list, too. It looks like fun.

Peace, you saw snakes? Holy schmoly! Did your walk turn into a run?

Hi all! Well, my workout plans for the weekend were completely blown. I am not in charge of my garden right now, it is in charge of me. I spent all day Saturday cleaning up some "finished" places so I could plant some fall crops. This was after working my butt off to pick all the dang tomatoes that are overflowing the place. Of course after all that planting work on Saturday, we had monsoon style rain last night and this morning so I'm sure those seeds washed away. :upset: F-ing garden! I'm ready for winter!

Anyway, did 30 min of cardio today (I wish there was an HIIT class - I don't have the motivation to do it on my own!). I'm ready to be tortured tomorrow.

I DID BODYPUMP! Really enjoyed it. I'm not generally a class person, but there was no major coordination of arms/legs involved so I did ok. There were a lot of squats and lunges though which I generally avoid like the plague - so lets see what tomorrow brings.....

i have been ill an only walked about a mile yesterday with the dogs...did some arms and ab work, but wasn't really into it as my nose kept running andi had ZERO energy!

hopefully today i can at least walk 4-5 miles...no running when sick.

it is cool and breezy outside!

Hello Peace and SB! Peace should you maybe be resting??? I have a pretty humorous image going on of you exercising with the nose running. EWWW!!! :H (sorry! hope you feel better soon!)

Bets that class sounds awesome. Personal Torturer(tm) is into squat and lunge torture which I thought would kill me at first - expecially my knees. But I seem to be holding up OK - hope you do to. It's definitely helping me get stronger!

Tuesday was lower body PT + 30 min cardio. Wednesday I did 30 min of cardio + abs. Today was upper body PT + 30 min cardio.

I feel like I've really been pushing with everything Mon - Thurs, so I may take tomorrow off to rest up and then do Lower Body on Saturday + Cardio and abs and then upper body on Sunday + Cardio. We shall see.

:b&d::sofa::b&d: WHERE ARE ALL THE LAZY SLUGS AROUND HERE!!

Most of the stuff I planted Saturday didn't wash away after all and has sprouted. Life is good.
