    Happy October Abbers!!

I'm excited to start another month sober. And once this month is over, i can start jogging and more intense exercise as my foot should be healed up. I will start off easy and see how it goes, i dont want to be back at square 1 again. So this month my goal is short walks, yoga and weights and of course, remaining sober and attending AA on a regular basis.

But just for today, I know i will not drink. Happy Thursday all!

    JACKRABBIT!!

Chill in the air here. I felt bad for the cat I banned from the house as I know he likes warm and comfey. He has a bed in the garage but nothing compares to being in bed with me. :H:H:H So I let him in and that was one happy cat. I haven't checked to see if he peed in the house yet though so his tonight's comfort level has yet to be determined.

Same story different day. I'm going to have to see the Natinal Parks PBS thing on DVD. I can't stay awake! I even sat up. Oh you know what? A few weeks ago I quit drinking coffee after the AM!!! WOW!

Frankly, I'm glad September is over. It was exhausting for me. I fretted far too much. This month I'll spend as much time as I can in the woods. It's where I belong. It feeds that core of my soul.

SO. Hit the hole, hit the park. and try to stay awake for PBS.

    Have a lovely!

      Good morning Abbers!

Yes, happy October one & all
This is my favorite time of year, motivates me to do the things I love the most! So I will be outside as much as possible. I will cleanup the inside (when time permits) and just maybe start thinking about all the birthdays & holidays coming up

Greenie, I have been watching the PBS series myself. It is really good & making me feel like it's time to make some travel plans. Acadia looked so nice.........it's on the East coast like I am but SO far away. I will be doing some thinking about that for next summer

Well, I have a busy day planned including meeting an old friend for lunch. It's always a real treat to spend some time with her, she's one of those happy people who always leaves you feeling good

Have a great AF day everyone!

        Morning guys and happy Thursday!

Mstall, that's one of the things I love about sobriety - we can actually not only put together a plan, but execute on it!

Greenie - I actually watched that show last night and it was incredible. I never new all the trials and tribulations that our park system went through in its infancy, nor did I know that one man's vision is responsible for what we have today. Truly inspiring!

Nothing too exciting going on here - other then being swamped at work! My son's beagle puppy went in to be spayed yesterday so he was all upset about that, which I understand. He talked to the vet after the surgery and everything went fine and she'll be home today so all is well.

With that I'm off - time to drink some coffee, and install some software so I can start tinkering! Have a great day everyone and remember to enjoy and appreciate the little things in life.

          ME again!

          Hi AA, you sound good

A note to LVT & SaraSmiles - ladies, the biodentical hormones are a true blessing, believe me! Don't be afraid of them, they really help to smooth out the rough edges

          Have a great day!

AA, It's a whole series. And I love the fact that those trials and tribullations are such a part of it. The people are incredible. An Ansel Adams exhibit comes here later this month. I'm excited about that.

              Hi Aberoos!

Everyone sounds great today! I slept well last night and am on day 12, well on my way to my 2 week goal (which will be revised once reached!).

Have had a busy week and a busy September - also have a busy October planned - I think I'm looking forward to November, then things kind of slow down for me and I can actually relax on weekends! LOL

Looking forward to a fairly quiet but productive day here and then a fairly quiet night tonight - couple loads of laundry, clean the bathroom and then VEG out and watch survivor!

Hope everyone has a great Thursday - and greeny - hope you can stay up to watch your show! From what everyone is saying it sounds like a good one!

              Love and hugs,
              Uni

good morning all, and a happy oct. 1st!
i do love fall, but today we seem to be having winter instead...hmmmmm.

the national parks series is online as well for anyone out of the country who might want to check it out. it is an amazing series! this country is so beautiful and it is nice to know that some of that beauty is protected.

i am well, have been running intervals and eating really well...i am really focusing on my health (as i always have, but is one ever healthy while actively drinking!?).

i want to walk my beagles, but this cold rain would take it right out of them!!!

have a wonderful sober day all.:h

Evening all - half way through week 6 here and feeling good - well apart from having a cold/feeling shattered.

Off on the Monday too - may be time for a cull of last year's winter clothes, old magazines etc.see you over the weekend - no ime to get on here - hope all doing well

                      happy Thursday ABenators!!

Mstall thanks for the nice start to this glorious AF month.

Peacenick, what a cool place to hike so close to you.

the weight bench was verrrrrry cold this morning, otherwise just blazing through some paperwork.

                      be well

Happy October AbLanders! Mstall, thank you for starting us off today with POSITIVITY!!! :yougo: I love that!

                        [/MENOPAUSE WARNING]

Wow - we have LOTS of Beagle Love on this thread!! Healing thoughts to your son's pup AA. Beagles are so loveable. Loud, but loveable. And for me, every other dog I have or had (RIP Doggies) liked to think they were people or something. My Beagle KNOWS he's a dog, and actually seems to LIKE just being a dog. Imagine that.

Peace do you have the link to the PBS series on line? I imagine it might be easy to find the PBS web site but have no idea if that series is easy to find. You all have me intrigued!! My parents home borders a very large state park so that was my "playground" as a kid. Wonderful memories.

Greenie are you still doing that letterbox thing?

Hmmm...I like the reminder AA to appreciate the simple things. So today I'm going to enjoy the notion that dinner is already made - leftovers from yesterday! So instead of just chowing down, I'm going to slow down and REALLY appreciate the simple process of pulling the crock pot out of the fridge and just plugging it in!

Sending strong "No Pee" vibes to GreenieKitty.

I am so very, very grateful to be sober today. I was at a Chamber lunch and the lunch sponsor was a local Mission Center. They do a lot of work to help the less fortunate in our town, and of course that includes people who have lost it all due to alcohol addiction. They showed a video and of course helping addicts was a part of it. I reflected on the fact that with just a little more time, that could have been me. And if I drink again, it could still be me. I realize that my sobriety is fragile. I must never take it for granted. I must make it my highest priority and protect it like my life. Sobriety IS life to me.

(OK - so that was a "deep thing" rather than a "simple thing." Or maybe a "simple but deep thing?")

Happy October AFness to one and all.
