    NoSlender but Wannabe?? NOVEMBER ABBERCIZERS!!

Back to Day 1 of exercising today after a four month hiatus. For those who know me from these threads, that is most unusual. However, chronic back pain and family crises mixed in with a little procrastination got in the way.

I have learned yet again that exercise is the foundation of my being. When exercise goes, so does my eating, mood, energy level, etc. I am grateful that it did not lead me down the path of drinking, but I know I am playing with fire when I do not exercise.

I didn't go to netball last night (friend's birthday dinner) and neither did quite a few of the others apparently because we all got a stern e-mail from the captain today telling us that we should put netball first and our social lives second! Like being at school! I wonder if she'll give us detention after the match next week. :H

        Been gymming 'n' swimming today
DG - hope you get over the soon.

Hi Det, Good to hear from you too. Last time I was read this thread (a long time ago), you were exercising til it hurt. You've come a long way!!!

I was training for the Marine Corps Marathon up until August when believe it or not, I was on a 16 mile training run and lo and behold, I stepped on one of those little liquor bottles on the trail (the ones you get on an airplane), tumbled forward and got multiple abrasions on my arms and legs. I also threw my back out in large order. I nearly passed out and I had to hobble back to my car, with another runner, blood dripping down my arms and legs. We finally were able to catch a cab when we got closer to the road. My back is still on the mend but I am feeling much better. Now that's karma!!!

M3! Thats crazy! There is definitely a message in there somewhere...Liquor ruins your life...LOL

It's been a good week for me so far exercise-wise.

            Monday-60 minute spin class
Tuesday-20 minutes on arc trainer followed by a 60 minute body pump class (weights)
            Wednesday -50 minute spin class

Tomorrow i will do arc trainer and body pump again.

Friday it's off to my son's hockey tournament. Will be a challenge as they are always booze-fests for the parents.

I''ve just pushed my way through a two week weight-plateau. My weight just wouldn't budge and finally I got on the scale after avoiding it and dropped 2 pounds. Yay! I have a long way to go but just like with the AL, it's ODAT.

Hope everyone is meeting their exercise and fitness goals. It's so encouraging when you start to feel better, have more energy, and not feel like an 80 year old!

            Have a great Wednesday everyone!
Every day is not 100%, however, it is 100% better than my best day of drinking..

              Hi all! :b&d:

Wow Taz!! Congrats on a killer workout week and 2 lbs gone! That rocks.

M3, WOW I am so sorry to hear about that accident and especially the back troubles that came with it! Ouch. Back trouble is no fun (I'm a surgery survivor!). Are you able to workout at all right now?

Marshy Marshy Marshy. It's just clear you are a netball slacker among netball slackers, and your very astute coach is onto to the whole lot of you!!! :H Ummm....let us know how long the detention is for, K? Was the b-day dinner fun? I'm not over the crud yet but am feeling well enough to share it with others at the gym today. :yuk:

Deter I am very happy for you that you did not hurt yourself!! :H I applaud you on that apple. I've been BAD lately and it's gotta stop. Tomorrow!

DLA, eating right is no...ummm....cake walk. I struggle off and on (am currently "on" for struggling at the mo!!) We can't give up. WE CAN DO THIS!!

Well, I missed the gym Monday and Tuesday. Today I wasn't sure how far I would make it working out. I ended up just doing 30 minutes cardio on the arc. I wanted to do lower body weights but I just didn't have the energy for both today. Also, this means my Germ Share was confined to a much smaller area, for whatever that's worth.

I plan on keeping my PT appointment tomorrow for a little upper body torture. Then hopefully lower body & cardio on Friday and then we're off for the weekend to Mr. Doggy's trial.

I hate having to take time off. I can HEAR my ass getting bigger! :upset:

Getting back on the eating healthy band wagon too. I find that once my exercise goes, eating goes, mood, energy....it's not pretty.

DG, To answer your question, I have just started to get back into working out since my fall. My back is feeling much better but I still have not attempted to run. I'm feeling quite hesitant about it actually and don't know when/if I will start again although I look at runners that I see with great yearning and envy!!

                          Hi folks,

Thanks to MWO, I have this STOP thing working pretty well; stopped drinking, stopped eating crap (sugar), stopped midnight heartburn, stopped being a zombie-aka Day of the Living Dead.

Now it's time to push the START
button; start exercising more, start having more energy, start being more creative, start socializing, start being more alive.

I'll be hanging out around here for energy and inspiration. Thanks for the positive vibes! :thanks:

                          Tom

right on Tom4.0 sounds like you've found the appropriate buttons!

I really MUST start working out when I'm on the road even though i don't feel like it. that last workout was sooo hard with crappy cardio. I can't let those 22 year old steroid junkies kick me around in the ring!

Nice to see you back Tom

Det - I've just played netball against a bunch of university students, so I know how hard it is to get a kicking from the young 'uns.

We lost but I was pleased with how I played. I'm finally getting it!
