    January Abbercisers aka If you wanna rock a bikini by summer, ya gotta get busy NOW!

    :b&d: Happy New Year Abbercisers! I can't edit the title, so I'll just clarify here that speedos count too!!!!

    If you are new around MWO, you might be asking yourself this astute question: "What the sam hill is an abbercizer?" Good question!

    An abberciser is one who seeks to find some NEW exercise activity, since 12 ounce curls are no longer part of the fitness plan. It doesn't matter how fit you are or aren't. It doesn't matter what type of exercise you do or what your goals are. Just set a goal, and talk about it here for accountability!

    I started my new weight training program with the new fitness trainer 2 weeks ago. I'm loving it! I'm doing things in the Big Boy (and girl) free weight side of the gym that I never thought I would be brave enough to try. Here is my plan for the coming week:

    Today: Day off :yougo:
    Sunday: Upper body weights and sprint intervals
    Monday: Hill intervals
    Tuesday: Lower body weights
    Wednesday: Day off
    Thursday: Combo weights and sprint intervals (different timing than Sunday)
    Friday: Hill intervals

    I am also on a specific eating plan to go with the workout program. Right now I am 96% adherance to the plan with is slightly better than goal. I'm pretty happy that I didn't cheat on the plan with excess eating at all since Mr. Doggy's family get together (that was a cheat-o-rama of epic proportions at the desert table....). My only deviation since Mr. Doggy's family party has been one meal where I actually skipped part of it. (that's not good either - the goal is to eat ON plan - not over OR under.)

    I'm back under 150 pounds which is in my goal weight range. I've lost a bit inch wise around the waist and mid section. YEAH. I actually think I can already see some improvement especially in my arms / back in the before / now pictures.

    Bikini season here I come!

    3 pints of water a day, no dairy products also lots of fruit and veg. I am still on the yoga in the mornings now I can wake up early with no hangover and have begun cycling 2 miles to work that is 5 days out of 7.
    Its not vanity honestly. Looking and feeling good is all part of recovery, reaping the rewards of abstinence.
    I am blessed with love joy and sobriety.

      Hi All
      Well I don't think i want to get in bikini shape or spedo shape for that matter. Guy here but better tennis shape yes.I haven't posted here for a long time but new year and time to participate a little more. I have been following an every other day lifting routine for my upper body. i had a knee injury and had surgery about 7 weeks ago. I was able to resume biking about 3 weeks ago and today was the first day really testing the knee on the tennis court. Felt great !! So even though I couldn't play with keeping a workout routine in place during the rehab I didn't lose much ground.
      Will be posting my tennis workouts along with the biking and lifting. Tennis was my out and through playing competitively again have found a whole new group of friends who have no idea about the old me.
      Dg always great see were you are in your workouts SPRINTS INTERVALS I am impressed
      Will be hopping on board this tread now off to lift.

          I'm in - I will walk/cycle to work whenever I don't NEED the car to get to meetings.
          I will skate x3 weekly and I will run/gym once a week (increasing to 2x weekly fro mfeb)

              OK - I can't believe I overlooked speedos!! We are a unisex crowd and men and women here can aspire to bikinis or speedos - whatever floats your boat!

              I don't know about tutus though IAD... :H

              :b&d: I just got done watching the videos of all the exercises for my workout tomorrow. Form form form. I love going to the gym on Sunday mornings. It's usually pretty quiet and I can take my time as there are no other pressures on the day. YEAH!!

                Need a boost to get back to the gym. Been on hiatus since the end of November. Thinking of those summer days, now that's an inspiration. Count me in. I had lost about 18-20 lbs once AF. Put a few back on over the holidays. Time to get rid of that and a few more.
                This week for sure to get back on track.

                    I had to wear the darn things as a lad on the swim team in Aussiland. I could have died of embarrassment. oh...they were neon green to boot. eeeeeek!

                      My plan is still on track. I'm burning fat like a freight train on fire. I'll be bikini ready in 6 weeks, although I doubt any guy would look great in a bikini. :H I haven't been very diligent about tracking my bodyfat % this cut because I knew it would happen so fast I wasn't going to worry about it. I'd say I'm sitting at around 15% right now and I'll hit sub 10% in a month and a half.

                      This is my shoulders/arms day for the last 5 weeks. The increases should level off soon as I am on a diet. They're probably just due to muscle memory.

                        That looks cool Det. Are you finding that this form of martial art (if that's even the right way to put it) is a little easier on your bod than what you were doing before? I found it interesting in the vid that there is mention of physical, mental and spiritual. Like martial arts but also like addiction recovery. Good "life" skills! Keep us posted - looks very interesting!

                        I can relate. Not so much holiday creep as....boredom creep?? My weight drifted up about 5 pounds from end of summer to now. I really like having a structured workout and eating plan - already I'm seeing improvement in just a couple of weeks. I know you will too! Welcome aboard! Bikinis Ho!

                        Loop - are you graphing that just using Excel? I keep stats on all my workouts but have never taken time to try to graph that. With what I'm doing now, it might be an interesting project. Impressive progress loop.

                        I love weight day breakfast. This from a notorious breakfast skipper. Scrambled eggs and oatmeal and blueberries. I hadn't eaten oatmeal in a zillion years so I'm lovin' it. Breakfast of champions.

                          Hi All
                          Tested my knee today in a practice doubles tennis match. Felt good. Will go out with my training partner tomorrow feeling I can now start back working on my game.I have league play starting in 3 weeks and want to be ready for the first match.
