    Hi All
    Hour hit with my instructor limited to certain drills ,knee hurt to much to do a full out workout. I need to be patient. As my instructor said [as i was getting annoyed at not covering what i should be because of my knee], enjoy that you are able to be out here compared to 6 weeks ago with your knee up and laying in bed. Yes i had to step back and be grateful. In so many ways these days I have to stop and reflect and be grateful.
    Yoga in the evening the stretching is feeling great. Sounds like so much time spent on physical activities but I bet if i add up the time per week it doesn't come close to the amount of time I wasted each week drinking.

      Hi guys!

      I'm doing pretty well with my annual January/February diet and exercise plan. :H

      I am determined to drop 10 pounds and eat a more healthful diet than I am used to. When I quit drinking so much beer, I lost some pounds, so I think if I put a little effort into some toning and calorie burning I should be able to lose the weight fairly easily.

      I'm still doing yoga class 1-2 times per week and took my first "Zumba" class yesterday and hope to do that twice a week. It is a good workout for me--great cardio--I haven't worked out and sweat that much for a very long time. It is a fun bunch of people in class so it goes pretty fast. I bought a cheap hip hip work out dvd today in the check out time (impulse shopping at its finest) just to try to keep myself moving more.

      I'm trying to eat way more veggies/veggie juice/smoothies and less bread and white stuff in general. Less meat--less food--only fruit in the evening.

      I got some jeans on sale that are a little tight--my goal is to fit into them comfortably before we go to Vegas in a month.

      Love reading about everyone's goals and plans here!

        Caysea, I'm with you the amount of time I used to spend drinking. I would have to be at the gym from the moment they open until the moment they close (and they have some LOOOONNG hours) to be spending more time at the gym than I did drinking. I used to go to ANY length to drink. If I do half that much for fitness, I'll be Mrs. 29 Forever America one of these days LOL! (pass me a tiara!)

        LVT, I like the skinny jeans idea! You can put them on once a week and guage your progress. That is so much better than the scale! You are gonna be HOT HOT HOT in Vegas my dear!

        :b&d: Today is a day off for me. Nanny nanny boo boo to all of you who are sweating your fannies off today! :H Just had to stop by to rub it in.

          Hi All
          yesterday AM lift workout. Evening yoga. Today headed to the park for an hour on the ball machine. I am able to do tennis drills with the machine that gives me a good cardio workout.
          Getting quiet around here hope its because everyone is in the gym.

            Me!!! Me!!! I'm in the GYM!!!! :b&d:

            My workout rotation starts on Sunday and ends on Friday - Saturday is an off day. I have completed everything for the week. And I don't know why, but yesterday was an AWESOME day in the gym. (weights and then sprint intervals) I felt strong and was just able to do everything on my plan and go for the max number of reps targeted in each set, etc. WOW what I wouldn't give to have EVERY workout feel like that!

            Had a killer workout today too doing Hill intervals on the dreadmill. Did more in terms of distance / calorie estimated burn than I've ever done previously with this routine.

            Now I'm going to enjoy Figure Skating on the internet!! This week and next is US Championships (why they are dragging out the event across two weekends I have no idea). Then next week there is also European Championships. So there will be skating action nearly all the time. Oy. When will I have time for my life?????

            Hope everyone else is having a :b&d: time at the gym!

              Hi All
              Sat was a rest day for me. Yesterday played a practice tennis match and the knee felt the best it has since the operation. We start league play this week. I am glad I continued my lifting program during my rehab[not drinking lol but post operation] . I am feeling strong and the lay off has me mentally ready for competition. Having an activity that I can sink my teeth into both physically and mentally is what I needed. It is great to be back from the land of the living dead. I am participating in life and yes totally enjoying a life without al.

                Hi Guys
                I have always been into my fitness but during the last 12 months it has suffered due to the increased amount of alcohol. Im now on day 18 AF and back to working out 5 days a week, i also want to loose 8-10 pounds. For the 1st time in a very long time my head is clear and im feeling motivated and determined....

                    Hi I'm back !

                    Took my bike out for a ride well my bike took me had to force myself but felt good afterwards next time i go on a bike ride i will stop of by the park they have a workout machines next to the park... y/day went on the wii fit did a bit of yoga and will do some this morning..

                      Hi All
                      Knee giving me a little trouble. I am leaving the tennis for awhile and will concentrate on my lifting and biking workout.
                      Lifted today and went to yoga this afternoon. The yoga is really feeling good. I am very careful of the knee that I had scoped.
                      marshy congrats on the net ball championship. Will we see you in the next Olympics.
                      We are all sadden by the recent news at MWO. As much as we may hurt some times working out, I feel it is a big part of our recovery.Find that outlet you can get passionate about. Doing something physical is one of the best ways to change that al lifestyle. I look around this site and I don't think it is a coincidence that the people that are achieving success are also finding a new way or returning to and old way of physical activity.Just a good walk can sometimes change your mood.

                        Hello all! I shall give a half hearted :b&d:!! My motivation has been suffering yesterday and today. Yesterday was a day off for working out. We are having ice rain and it's keeping things really slippery and dangerous. So I was supposed to do weights and sprint intervals today, and hill intervals tomorrow. But I didn't feel safe to get out of the driveway today, so did Hills on the dreadmill at home, and hope to be able to get out to my business committments, a doc appointment and then the gym tomorrow! Oy - still predicting temperatures just below freezing with more rain tonight, so it's not looking good for decent conditions tomorrow.

                        But...I'm current on my workout plan through today anyway. Eating plan? It's been a rough couple of days for some reason. I've given in to the sugar urges and have been clearing out the cabinets at an alarming pace. This will set me back.

                        Oh well. I am sober and happy about that!!! The rest of this stuff will just have to get worked out in time.

                        Sorry for the BlahPost. I try to be more energetic than that! Today I just don't have my perk on for some reason..... But I'm here and I'm workin' out.

                          remember, you don't always have to go full on, you can do a mellow workout, or just walk on a treadmill with some headphones since it's raining...

                          i started training for a 10k about a week ago and don't feel lie running today, so i'm going to take my own advice and go easy...sometimes when i do that, i get motivated while i'm doing the mellow workout, and end up doing a serious workout anyway.

                                What is Systema?? (or is that the new thing you are doing that you shared video of? My memory is failing!!)

                                I'm still struggling with motivation. I'm not sure if my current training situation is really right for me. That's not to say the training set up is bad - no no no!!! My mind is a tricky place and I tend to get a bit "all or nothing" about things. That is something I have to work on in general in this life. Mean time, I'm not sure an over the top ambitious workout plan is working out for my brain. At my age, I think the most important thing is that I exercise and stick with it, and enjoy it. So I'm giving this some thought.

                                I just bought the Women's version of the New Rules for Lifting book. I've been hearing a lot about that, and I'm going to give that a read and see if I might be better off using something like that as a guide to develop my own plan. (and save some $$ in the process which would be nice!)

                                Anyway...I AM going to the gym today to do upper body and sprints. :b&d:

                                So...what abbercizing are YOU doing on this last day of January??? Bikini Speedo season will be here before you know it! :egad::beach::b&d:
