Lil, Can I say happy 6 month birthday?
Have a long day today, subbing and then tutoring. Thanks for the support about my Super Bowl fiasco. And yes Dill, chat would be good that day. Is it this coming Sunday??
Open, if you don't mind my asking, what part of the country do you live in? Are you on a farm, ranch?
And I do like your thoughts on replicating the feeling you get from that initial drink. I can replicate it but it means I have to run at least 3 miles, swim at least a half mile, etc. But you I can always count on exercise to make me feel good.
Lav, thanks for the "tude". I've got a question for you. Do any of those mushroom people (they look like mushrooms) do catalog sales?
Red, How are you doing? For me working always saved me. If I was at work, I wasn't drinking. My weekends and school breaks were disasters. Your comment about last January, SB Sunday changing my life. Unfortunately I had about 6 more months of life changing events to go. I like to think of January as the beginning of the end.
Sooty, Chill, I'm ready for Portugal. Chill are you Portugese? Not sure how to spell that. What do you do in Portugal?

Sped im Scottish but been living in Portugal for 8 years. Ashamed to admit it but dont speak the language as everyone speaks English.
So agree re exercise, its what has given me awesome highs over the years. Last year I cycled from London to Paris in 4 days and the year before cycled 1000km in the Vietnam mountains up to the Chinese border. It's snowing here and I got called to sub for my meals route. I didn't mind as I really enjoy doing it and I got out of the house for awhile.

Hi everyone
Lil, WELL DONE! 6 months! That's such fantastic work. Red - take heart, each and every one of us is just a whisper away from where you were. Once you finally get through a whole weekend you will be on such a high! I'm on 4 weeks AF today but my personal goal is 5 weeks, which is my longest period in more years than I could count.
Chat sounds great, 6am doesn't sound too bad if I say it quickly! I've not used chat before, so I can't promise! But I need clarification - is it Monday 1 Feb?
Thank you to everyone for the Australia Day wishes. I didn't do anything or go anywhere - in fact, I spent the entire day trying to catch up on housework that has been badly neglected (and I mean badly!) for a couple of months while I have been trying to sort out some pain meds. They've kicked in now, and I feel a whole lot better so it was a good chance to do some of the jobs I've been forced to ignore for ages.
It's warm here at the moment, temps in the high 30s so I tend to do 'outside' stuff early in the morning - the garden is getting very neglected too, and I am going to have to get to grips with that too, sooner or later. My 4 girlies are doing better, eggs most days except when it gets really hot, so I'm off to do a bit of 'animal husbandry' (or shouldn't that be 'animal wifery?') before the mercury rises.

Man - one of my hens gave me a HUGE egg today - it weighed 3.5 ounces!! Glad you are feeling better!

Yesterday we had rain, thunder, lightening, 60 degrees - today we have snow flurries! How crazy is that? No wonder I'm so confused.......:H

Hey Lav, your girls are doing way better than mine! Actually mine are very young, not properly laying yet in fact I think they are still at the stage of leaping up from the nest and staring at the egg.... 'what the HECK is that???' Hahahaha! I've caught a couple of them 'in the act' as it were, and they certainly show immense curiosity in what they just produced!
Hope you enjoyed the egg! Better gp and see what my girls have left for me this morning. Such a peaceful life I lead NOT! Night everyone up there.

I am near Detroit. I don't know where in Australia you are, but check the clock site and you can see the difference in our times. I think you are at least 14 hours ahead of me, maybe 16. So, if we in the US meet in chat at 4:00pm on Sunday January 31st our time, it would be 6-8:00am, Monday February 1st your time. Does that sound right to you? That would be fun to meet you in real time!
Sky, what about you? Could you join us in a group chat?

LBH, We had our roasted chicken on Sunday, as you know, served with cole slaw and scalloped corn out of the freezer from last summer's garden. Today we had oriental style stir fried vegetables (broccoli, carrots, onions, baby bellas) with cut up pieces of cooked chicken, served over rice. Still a lot left over, and the stock is in the fridge looking lovely.
Sped, the Superbowl is February 7th. I'm sure we could get a few of us to chat to support you that day if you would like!

Mandalay, I know exactly what you're talking about - the hens being 'shocked & surprised' when they first start laying - it's comical, really! I just can't believe how big some of these eggs are, crazy!

Sped et al, I had a curious happening tonight. After telling you about my bad occurance 2 years ago, tonight I realized that I was physically in the exact same place, and for all I know it is the exact anniversary date of that horrible night. Perhaps not exact, but within a few days. I was really worried about going there to work tonight, but thankfully I was busy, and once there I was enveloped by other concerns. I'm a little freaked out, as I have to be there every night right through the weekend, so I'll be checking in with you via webphone if I start feeling 'at risk'.
