Greetings, Feb Friends,
I cannot get over how fast January went by. I fear February will go even faster and I, like Lode have deadlines looming. I'm going to have to take things at work ODAT and sobriety ODAT so I don't get overwhelmed by the big picture.

Lav, I am jealous of you having your daughter around the corner! What a gift. I have to travel to New Orleans to visit with mine. Talking on the phone is a consolation, but not much of one. I do not really do well with phone conversations. I don't know why, but I just don't like talking on the phone.
LBH, we watched Departures last evening and both enjoyed it. Very unusual and tender.
Lil, I'm going to crochet you a new nighty. What color would you like?

Dill, I'm like you - I really don't like talking on the phone either.........you'd never know it with all the talking I do around here :H
My daughter & her husband have a dog training business & their territory is down this way. They've been doing an incredible amount of driving the past (almost) 3 years! So this move brings them closer to their clients & will save them lots of time & $$. I will absolutely love having my best friend around again - it's been very lonely

Hello everyone and thanks for the links Dill. Chat was just amazing, I went to bed with a smile on my face - could barely fix my nose cosey on I was smiling so much!
Well February is cold but sunny here and I've been to the gym so feel relatively positive!
I am determined that February is going to be AF and healthier in terms of food too as I am desperate to lose weight. I caught a glimpse of myself on the floor doing situps this morning and it was not a pretty sight!

Hi Sky, thanks for launching the month. And from a dolphin to a little fox, you have interesting aspects in your persona! Enjoy your forest fairy woodland bathing, I have recently been tackling my shower with a razorblade, bleach, and an old toothbrush (the tile not me), it is good to take care of things. My big and now fragrant furry shelter dog looks quite stylish after his trip yesterday to the self-service dog wash (the macho fellow is also now wearing an incongruous pink bandana with Valentine hearts) so we are each getting off to a nice fresh February. We are having a burst of sun and I am going to hang clothes out, deep water the skeletal winter roses, and catch up on paperwork and finances. A good day for a level sober gaze. I am glad you liked the film, Dill, it stayed with me gently. Enjoy your lovely Wales, Soots. Hi Lil and Lav. Hi Lode and Red (so glad you feel well and stronger again, me too:l). My day has been a fruitful one.... I had to deal with a situation which would have been unthinkable had I still been drinking, not only did i deal with it, it all worked out rather well which has boosted my confidence! So far I have a good feeling about FEB and wish you all a very happy and AF one....

Good evening everyone - this time last night I was rolling round laughing at some of you and the memory has made me smile several times today! crochet nighties, nose coseys etc what a crazy bunch we are. We must make a promise to do chat once a month or so.
I do hope Rusty and Twitch will join our thread, I haven't got time now but will send them a message tomorrow to try and persuade them!
I've had a good day but just had a long and very miserable phone call from my cousin - his mother is going downhill rapidly with Alzheimers and its so sad. He is angry and bitter (and drinking) I hope I helped ... but there's so little comfort in the situation.
Off to make a hot chocolate now and watch some soaps on tv.

My day didn't go at as as planned but it still turned out just fine......you never really know!
Ended up running around the corner to help my daughter with more unpacking. So nice to have her around again.

Sooty, I smiled when you said you were watching soap operas.......we used to get East Enders on PBS here. We watched it for years, just loved it & now we can't get it anymore. Still miss it!

I have just started watching it again in the last 2 years since living on my own, my girlfriends (the single ones!) and I have a saying about soaps, we watch them not because we want to but because we can....!

Sounds like most of us are starting February with sobriety and good intentions.

Our relationship to each other on this thread has been a continuing source of strength and ongoing support. We are trying to find the good things in life, the beauty and the joy, that drinking alcohol has taken away from us.

It is in the daily practice of being there fully for ourselves, our God, each other, our family, friends, work, play, and our entire life experience that is so wonderful and different. When we drank we were not there anymore for anyone, including ourselves. We lost time and our sense of ourselves.

Regaining this sense of self is like being reborn. We again get the opportunity to find hope and joy in the simple daily experience which is really all there is. Today I am grateful and commit to being AF.:h

Morning all from a wet and windy uk today! Goodness what would I talk about if the weather was nice everyday
Feeling lazy today and aching everywhere from exercise yesterday but got to get myself motivated to move around a bit - still its a good feeling and its good to read all the positive posts from us all.
I keep saying we could rule the world if we were all in one place at the same time - now I think we could provide enough power to light up a large city!

Soots, the weather is foggy, damp and cold here. I am waiting for Spring. I wish I had planted some "snow drops" last fall. They are tiny bulbs that push through and bloom in February. Wouldn't that be a treat to see?

Good morning friends,

Overcast & chilly here too kids.........a little bit of snow on the way tonight.

Chill, Mr. Lav got hooked on Eastenders first - it was funny! It took the longest time to understand the 'language'. The episodes that we watched here were about a year or two behind what was current. I wish they would bring it back

Dill, I don't have any snowdrops either! I have to wait for the early tulips & daffodils to see some blooms. Still feels like a long way off yet......

Red, I think we are being reborn - one at a time here! That's why I like to see new people join our group. You just know that they are beginning to 'see the light too'!
