    af daily sun 7 feb

I had one beer yesterday - I'm back on AF wagon today - again it was feeling nervous socially out with the team, and it feeling a bit cliquey.

I need to deal with the fact that people who have known each other for years won't necessarily make a huge fuss, and that doesnt mean they don't like me/there's something wrong with me.

So back on af wagon for me - I am really pleased that I didn't smoke.
DG am really up for a clean eating programme- happy to post menus at end of each day if it helps? I plan to get away from takeaways/processed food and get back to home cooked food with my 5 a day. Choolate and crisps has also become a daily part of my diet - I plan to limit it to a weekend treat.

Good day all to come, getting ready for skate practice and wheel changing, tattoo tomorrow -exciting!

Morning Bear! Yes, I am definitely up for a clean eats program and I need some accountability! I think I will start a new thread for that right here in abs. So we can be accountable here for our drinking / NF goals, and abbercize for exercise goals and some form of "I don't wanna be a piggie no more" thread for eating goals. :H

I think you raise a really good topic Bear. Throughout my own adult life I used AL to escape various feelings - social insecurity was certainly one of them - rather than just accept feelings of discomfort at times (who said we are always going to feel comfortable in every situation, anyway?) or cope with them in some other healthier way.

I completely avoided social situations as much as possible for a long time in sobriety. Only in the last 6 months or so have I really started trying to deal with my insecure / bored / whatever feelings. I'm actually learning to get comfortable feeling uncomfortable at times, if that makes any sense. I'm certainly not alone at business functions when I'm NOT the one who is the life of the party. MOST people aren't. They don't all have to drink over it.

Anyway...just some random thoughts on what I think is a good subject bear! Good for you not smoking.

I'm going back to the gym today with New Rules of Lifting for Women. I'm starting at the beginning workouts so it should be a fairly easy re-entry. A new exercise that looks like fun is the Prone Jacknife. I hope nobody is around with a camera when I try that the first time. I hope I don't land on my face!

Happy unhungness one and all. Hey - is it Superbowl Sunday?

      Morning Abbers,

Hi bear, I keep finding myself migrating back to unhealthy foods even though I don't mean to.......I think I do it to elevate my comfort level since I no longer use Al or nicotine to do that. Need to keep trying to do better

No football for me today either DG - just never developed any interest in it - to be honest.

I'll be outside with Maxie my Swiss Mountain Dog! She loved yesterday's blizzard

      Have a great AF Sunday!

        Morning abbers!

I don't do superbowl. I may eat bad food in it's honor though. Shouldn't - I tried on a pair of pants in the god awful torture chamber (dressing room) yesterday. They were (WAY) too small but the sight inspired me to do an impromptu private dance that made me laugh out loud. :H:H

Bear, I'm still wondering what the tat is going to be? Give us a hint, huh?

Lav, swiss mountain dog sounds huge and wooly! I watchede the end of the Eukanuba dog show last night. The scottie has won what, 100 best in shows? I always think of that movie "Best In Show" that is so funny.

OK, back to the fireplace and newspaper. The flyer section was meatier than the acutal newspaper part. Hummmm.

        Have a superb sunday!

Greenie, I DEMAND VIDEO of your DANCE!! Was it a belly dance sort of dance? Or more of a hip hop thing? Hula? Where has hulagirl been lately anyway? You are so funny! :H

How is M3 and anyone else that "got it" near DC yesterday? Hope everyone has power and is OK.

All's well in Winter Wonderland. We got about 2 feet of snow. No snow plow in sight. Things are going to be at a standstill for awhile. No school for my girls. I'm feeling twinges of cabin fever. I'm not one for being shut in....like to be on the go. I'm sure there's a lesson in this.

                  Talking about fat :H

My Swissy came to live with us when she was just 18 months old weighing a whopping 117 lbs!!! That's a lotta dog!
Her owner spent $3000 - imported her from a breeder in Germany when she was just a baby. But, for some reason he just fed & fed her & never exercised her. She already had arthritis in her shoulders when we got her. We slimmed her down to 100 lbs (that wasn't easy) & put her on doggy glucosamine & got her used to moving. She's a lot better now, has gained a few lbs but overall in better shape. These dogs are very kind, loyal & loving but very, very slow learners - if you know what I mean :H

Oh, Maxie looks very very happy in all of that snow. I have a little bitty Shih Tsu and I am quite afraid that she will disappear if she hops in the snow.

I know its Monday - but i had to share that I'm laughing my head at at the thought of my Italian Greyhound in the snow - he has NO bodyfat and is used to tropical temperatures - spends a lot of time sun bathing

if we ever move to somewhere with cold weather he'll have to have sweaters and boots !
