Just wanted to check in and say good evening. I developed a muscle spasm in my back this morning which is making ordinary things hard to manage, my eyes are pooped from being prodded and put through their paces yesterday, and the day is just slipping through my hands without much to remember it by. I am fine anyway, looking forward to feeling better tomorrow. I have made plans for a morning of ?hunting and gathering?, among my favorite things to do alcohol and hangover free. I love to choose foods that inspire a meal or two; supplies for the house (and soon the garden!); things to take care of Lord Bird Heart and our family of pets; or treats to decorate my old self. I need to plan tasks for the next few weeks before I get my eye fixed (March 15th), including gathering things to distract me during the uncomfortable part. I shall look into the ways to listen to audio books as I have enjoyed them while driving to distant worksites in the past. I adored Memoirs of a Geisha in this format and got so scared in Hannibal that I tipped over my coffee, drove by my intended destination, and created a rolling road hazard with the blinding whites of my eyes. I have not looked at the modern things of an Ipod or Kindle but they are likely in my near future. Peace to all of you and hang in there, Lode, smoke free is very worth it. Love, Ladybird.

LBH I am killing myself laughing. I had intended getting an audio book for my next long solo drive, but you've put me off. A muscle spasm in your back. OUCH! I've been there. Not nice.
Lodes, you will get there. At least you haven't gone out and bought a packet of smokes. It was nice talking with you on TND last night. By the way, Starts is a Squirrel.
I'm having a quiet Sunday. I'm actually very bored, but don't know what to do with myself. Too hot to be outside and the housework is done. I've finished a book I was reading and now I'm here.
Have a good one everyone. Happy Valentine's Day. :h

Evening friends,
LBH, have you tried Alleve? It really helped me out with my neck problem. I take 1 every 12 hours.
I have a Kindle & love it You buy & download entire books in less than a minute. You don't need to be hooked up to a computer or anything. The Voice quality is not great - an ipod would be better for audio books. When your vision improves though you can change the font size on your Kindle to something comfortable for you. I don't need my reading glasses with my Kindle!!
Sky, I think we change weeks on Sunday.......Happy V. Day to you too!
Shelley, need any snow out your way - I have extra here with more on the way Monday! Poor me.
Good night everyone, the Insanity Twins are asleep so I can rest too

Happy Valentine's Day, Friends!
LBH, that link was really great! Thank you. I sent it to my Mr. Dill for a Valentine email. He loves music and truly enjoyed it.
Sky, week two begins on the 15th. Say, what did you mean you talked to Lode on "TND" ? What's that?
Lav, it is 9 degrees here this morning. Yesterday it go up to 25. Thing is, the average daily temp for our area should be 37! This cold, cold, cold weather is getting old, old, old!
Hi Soots, Lil, Chill, Red, Sped, everyone!Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I'm stuck here with 4 large dogs, snow all over the place.............I really, really need Sooty to turn the bus & get us to Key West ASAP
Have a great AF Sunday everyone - I will be back later.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone - beautiful sunny one here and we went for a lovely walk this morning - and I didn't fall over!
Lav, consider it done - I've turned the bus round and we're off to the Keys - warm weather just around the corner!
I hope everyone is having a lovely day - Mr S and I don't do valentines either - can't remember when we stopped - its so long ago :H and anyway he's getting on my nerves at the moment so I wouldn't have given him a card even if we did (if you see what I mean)
I'll look in later to see if anyone is in chat around 4ish your time

FEB FAST ~ Week Two
Happy Valentine's Day to all!!
LBH that youtube music was wonderful. It is amazing to watch people from all over the world celebrate their musical abilitities. I wanted to send that link too, but have no idea how to do that. Can anyone tell me?
Woke up crabby today, after a great night's sleep. I had to rush around to make it to church on time and I like to take my time on the weekend. But, I am content in going to church and feel better now. Another AF weekend, what a relief. Now, I have to work on the food issues.
Lodestar, I am currently NF, but have struggled with staying quit for the last few years. I recommend nicotine patches, applied to the hip. Otherwise, I might have killed someone I would feel so irritable. I still have nicotine patches left, just in case I start up again. Now, if I smoke, I get sick within a week. My body cannot absorb the poisons anymore. I am able to quit easily as I am in the habit of not smoking, and work and associate with nonsmokers. Also, none in the house. You can and will do this, just like alchohol, it takes time and practice.
Sunny day here but freezing. We are halfway through the month, good for us. February is the hardest month to get through. I am going to the library soon and then will begin my Sunday cooking spree for the week. Have a sweet AF Valentine's Day.Redhibiscus

FEB FAST ~ Week Two
Hey FFers,
A quick one for me today as I have been sorely neglecting my project with my new NFness. Time to buckle down...again.
LBH ~ Hope you're feeling better today. Back pain is a drag. Loved the song you posted too, btw.
Lav ~ Can't believe you guys are getting pounded with more snow. Time for a vacation!
Sky ~ Nice talking to you too on TND thread. I knew Starty was a squirrel but that hippity hoppety pic she had up didn't look too squirrelish. Perhaps because you don't generally see squirrels playing leapfrog :H
Dill ~ The Next Day (TND) thread. If I'm up late, there is usually someone around in there. Thanks for the stop-smoking advice (to you and everyone)...I know cold turkey is hard, but I'm hoping to clear the nicotine out of my system. Gonna try this another time and then reassess.
Shelley ~ What grade do you teach? You might have mentioned it before, but I don't recall.
Chill ~ Your "date" sounds fun. Gives a whole new take on having a "toast."
Red ~ Thanks so much. You know, I think I'm finding it a bit easier today than it was even last week. Now I'm not scared about the withdrawal anymore. I know I can make it through the worst days of that. For me, it will be the mental work of feeling deprived of something I think I enjoy...and therefore, I have to keep telling I'm addicted to nicotine. With cigarettes I know I will never be able to smoke once in awhile. It's all or nothing. Practicing gratitude for the short withdrawal period and holding out hope that this is attainable right now.
Soots ~ Hope you enjoyed your visit. I peeked in chat, but there was nobody there.
Hope everyone is getting some :h today (and always).

Just logging on to say goodnight. I hope you've all had a happy, sober Sunday - I have and am v pleased to be able to say that - couldn't have said it last year and need to remind myself sometimes of how far I've come.
There may have been slips along the way but on the whole progress is good!
I'm off to bed soon, am really tired this evening - been out for a couple of walks to take advantage of the beautiful weather - which needless to say is forecast to change tomorrow.
Have a good rest of valentine's day - hope you all had loads and loads of pressies.

Hey Feb Friends,
Just wanted to pop in & say good night. I was up to my eyeballs with dogs at 4 pm - couldn't get anywhere near Chat, would have been nice.
Nothing fabulous to report - didn't get as much as a verbal Happy V. Day - told you Mr Lav has become a true dud! Sounds like Chill did pretty well for herself
The brain & the body are tired tonight. Can't wait to get rid of the grand dogs tomorrow - they are just too much! They held true to their name 'Insanity Twins' this weekend!!!!!
Wishing everyone a safe & cozy night!

FEB FAST ~ Week Two
Goodnight and happy end to Week Two. I had a fine day gathering up food for three fragrant soups (minestrone, orange/almond, and butternut squash with sweet sausage) and, to balance things out, filled my truck full of cow poop in early anticipation of spring. For Valentine?s, Lord Bird Heart gave me a little book light in anticipation of me being able to see properly again. A good day for the heart. Love, Ladybird.may we be well
