AF Daily - Tuesday February 16

Is everyone else sleeping in today as I was???

Marshy, if that thing Greenie advised you about was buying a lotto ticket, and you win, does Greenie get a third and I get a third too? WHY would I deserve a third? The Universe said so.

Greenie if I decide to go out to the grocery store today I will make sure to ask the patrons, the manager, the cashier and the baggers which osteopath they recommend. :H Sounds like your tour was awesome! I was wondering if you were still letterboxing!

Deter, We Wuzrobbed of details of your Valentines day. :upset: You are right that my workouts are starting to resemble yours - at least in the results department. Hmmmm..... Maybe it's time to start re-evaluating appropriate exercise levels for 29 year olds.....

Peace - what's up??? I hope you talk about it if that would help!

Hello to everyone else that I missed from yesterday and all Absters far and wide whatever you are doing today!

This holing up and resting of the arm is stinko. I hope by next week I'm on to some therapy exercises and getting life back to normal. I'm still amazed that one pill took down the crazy inflamation and pain. Still baffled over that one. Deter, it was a twisting type motion that did it - I could easily see something like this happening from twisting around to toss something in the back seat of a car. Sheesh. Well, enough whining! It is what it is. There is plenty I can do here to make good use of the time. So....a couple of goals for today. Clean the stacks of paper up on my desk. (one piece at a time of course - no Olympic Stack Lifting :H) Watch some Mary Kay training video.

Zoom zoom! Have a good one! I am GRATEFUL to be unhung today.

    morning abberrooos!

Unhung and happy - the best way to start the day!

Cold and windy so I think I'll do an inside thing today. Maybe the aquarium and see if there's a letterbox or 2 on Roanoake Island. Or maybe the Wright Brother's museum and walk Lucy in the Nature Conservancy wooded trail thing. It would be out of the wind. It's very isolated and a little spooky - thriller movie scene spooky. But that'll get my heart rate up without running. :H

DG,isn't it about time for a report on all that stuff you dehydrated?

I see they call the waiting on your score area the kiss and cry area. Is that because you do one or the other? Or both or what?

I'd like to walk the labs but geez, I can hear the wind whistling and the pool cover flapping...it really picks up some gusto coming across the sound. I wish I'd had a camera when little doggie was outside with her butt to the wind and all her hair blowing backwards. :H

Is anybody giving up something for Lent? I'm more spiritual than religious so I can't decide if I am going to or not. Honestly for me it would be using Lent as a reason to work on a bad habit. So I feel.... what? guilt? about doing that.

Peace I hope you're more settled today.

    Have a terrific tuesday!

Wow Greenie. I want to go dog sitting where YOU are dog sitting! The spooky forest sounds awesome. I think I'd want a big doggie with me. (little doggie might like that too!)

The Kiss 'n' Cry area is definitely multi-purpose for kissing, crying, and a multitude of other things. It's also for the skating fans to assess important things about the coaches who sit there such as fashion and/or level of hotness. You know, important stuff like that. Sometimes there are sightings of things that can only be seen in a close up and in a really tight costume. The decor of the Kiss 'n' Cry area is often assessed by fans. The one at the Oly's is pretty weak as K n C areas go. They should have hired the Japanese to design and decorate the area. At the NHK Trophy competition in Japan last fall, the K n C area was amazing. It had plenty of :bling: and even some floating feathers.
      [/end of K n C educational post]

Aren't you glad you mentioned that????

I am so glad to have all the dehydrated stuff from summer! Yesterday I had some "trail mix" of sorts with various nuts and some home made raisins and banana chips. I've been using the locally grown portabella mushrooms in stews and things all winter. I'm going to make some soup this weekend and throw in a bunch of dehyrated veggies. I will definitely dehydrate a bunch of stuff again next summer.

I wish you had got a piccie of little doggie with the wind up the...tail.

        Morning DG & Greenie,

Yes it is still snowing here! Who the hell ordered all this snow? It surely wasn't me!!!!

DG, I worked around hundreds of DOs over the years - some good, some not so good (just like in any profession). The basis of their practice is musculoskeletal manipulation but different from Chiros. In this day & age their practice is pretty much indistinguishable from MDs. Regardless who you see just beware of any individual who wants to cut before trying non-surgical approaches first

Greenie, I've been to North Carolina before - the Charlotte area but have never been to the Outer Banks. I really should put that on my list of things to do before I turn 30

Greetings to Peace - hope you check in soon!

Time to get a little work done.
Wishing everyone a terrific AF Tuesday!

Lav, how much snow do you have on the ground now, anyway????? Thanks for the suggestion about DO's. NO CUTTING!!!

Obviously I'm still goofing off and have not started that "productive" part of my plan for today as of yet. :H

Just came across this on facebook and nearly peed my pants. HOW TRUE!

Word of the day: nonversation~A completely worthless conversation, wherein nothing is illuminated, explained or otherwise elaborated upon. Typically occurs at parties, bars or other events where meaningful conversation is nearly impossible.
I have many years of experience with nonversations, that's for sure!

I'm so sick of this weather! Wet, cold, miserable. Hate February!
I just got caught in a sleety downpour and squelched home with soaking wet feet and shoes. :durn:

Nice try, DG :H A couple here won ?56 million on the lottery at the weekend. They did a press conference yesterday and seemed very nice and normal (whatever that means) but it'll be interesting to see what becomes of them. I think that amount of money would be very, very dangerous for me.

When's Lent, then? I have nothing left to give up! Smoking, check. Alcohol, check. Well, I suppose I could cut down on ice cream.

Gonna have a soak in the bath to warm up. Brrrrrrrrr.

What happened to your snow boots, Marshy?

Lent starts tomorrow. I was thinking choccie. :upset: But to be honest that limitation would just be giving me an out for ice cream. I need to do sugar. Double UGH!

February is sneaky and deceptive. It was sunny this morning. Deffo snow boots tomorrow, as snow is actually forecast. Yukkity, yuk.

Sister is giving up twinkies and soda. She's not supposed to be having either of those anyway as she is diebetic. :H She is also not supposed to have visitors during lent. But she says we can meet and talk about a step. We can't go out to lunch, but I can go to the Steak n Shake and get some fish sandwiches and then we'll have an indoor picnic. :H I love Sister and her wiley ways of working the system!

Yes...if I gave up choccie I would simply shift gears to something else. Greenie, I need to give up sugar too. Not just for lent though, for good. If I let it in, it creeps up on me to horrid proportions just like AL.

So are we going to have Fat Tuesday today and eat all the chocolate and gummy bears and ice cream we can get our hands on? And start our diets tomorrow? :H

Marshy, I think February is my least favorite month.

                        Me too.

If two drunks have a nonversation, did a nonversation actually happen?

A quickie check in from me here in sunny warm and dry las Vegas!
I would much rather be out there soaking up the warm desert sun than sitting in meetings all day!
Hmmm for lent last year I gave up diet soda it was the first time I had given up anything for that purpose. I think perhaps after this trip and all of the wonderful desserts I've been porking out on I should give up sugar.
I think the definition of nonversation should be any conversation held while drunk.
Gotta run....more vet tech stuff to learn!
