What a great AF cozy Friday night!! It is snowing here too, and very windy. I came home and made soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, no meat as it is Lent and I am trying to follow the rules.
I realized that I am getting used to being AF on weekend nights. I love waking up on Saturday and feeling good. It is really no longer an option to just drink -
Dill, sounds like you had a great day. How wonderful to have family close to home.
Chill, loved your poem. You inspire me with your happiness being AF. Your attitude of gratefulness is contagious.:h
I liked all the March name suggestions. Magical March sounds good.
Lavande, your 11 months AF is awesome. You have shared your journey with all of us, and I notice your help to newbies on MWO. Thanks for your efforts and feedback. You have helped so many.:lRedhibiscus

Evening Feb friends,
Tired but driveway & walkways clear. Made it out to the Chicken coop to check on the hens too - they're just fine
The 'Insanity Twins' were just dropped off for the weekend - lucky me! My son is on duty for the next 48 hrs & my DIL is away for a week - so I get the dogs......... They will spend plenty of time outside making snow dog angels - believe me
Just heard we are having another snowstorm next Wednesday.........are they serious????? I may end up pulling every last hair out of my big blue head!!!
LBH, Chill, Spuddleduck, Lil , Red- great to see all of you this evening!
Chill, thank you for the poem today, very insightful.
Grateful for another AF day, feeling good!
Wishing everyone a cozy night.

It's great to go to bed sober. I don't care how often it happens, it is wonderful each and every time!
Chill I very much liked your poem. It's a keeper!
LBH, will you have to take time off from posting when you have your eye surgery? Will you have to have a patch over your eye or will your vision be improved immediately and miraculously? Tell us what to expect!
Lil, Lav, Spuddleduck, chill, Red, Cyn, Sooty, Sped, everyone, Bon reve rose!.Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

hello all wonder-people! Finally read through this week of posts - bravo to all who took life this week so in stride - you are all inspiring me.
Lav - supercongratulations on 11 months - you are our postergirl!
Chill - great news about London, thanks for the poem, and I think you and I have 60 days today, yes?
LHB - I'm renaming you for a while: Lady Clear Eyes...I know it will be true for you.
Sooty - at one St David's Day event, I walked up to registration expecting a daffodil, and the lady politely said "yes, just move right over there and take a leek". (I heard 'leak').
I am determined to start reconstructing some boundaries in my life, starting with this weekend. Maybe I'll even post before 9:30 p.m!
Thanks to everyone for being here...to the light

How wonderful to again wake up feeling great on a Saturday morning!!!
Congrats to everyone who is meeting their AF goals. Everyday AF is worth a celebration. Maybe we'll all end up with a better quality of life because we will be so grateful for things others take for granted.
I was thinking about my regrets due to drinking. :upset: I cannot change those things. So, how can I live my life today to the fullest and give my best to my loved ones and myself? By taking action today to take care of myself, not worry, use my talents and abilities to give what I have, and love by being generous and kind.
I heard a sermon that said the four most important phrases in a relationship are:
1. Thanks
2. I'm sorry
3. I love you
4. I will be there.
If we practice those we will have good relationships, and in the end, our relationships are all we have. With God, ourselves and our loved ones.
Let me know what you think.:hRedhibiscus

Hi Red - Another wonderful hangover free satuday! I just love it.... By 9am I had walked the dog, cleaned the fire and re-set it for tonight and was enjoying my pot of mint tea.
I love your important phrases on relationships..
For me my biggest lessons have been on forgiveness and acceptance. I have also realized the true meaning of love is when you want whats best for the other person regardless of whether it benefits yourself. Its really about leaving your ego behind and loving unconditionally.
Forgiveness is the most powerful act and sets you free from so much heartache and pain. When you let go of resentments you can move on with your life instead of reliving the drama in your head over and over again. This of course includes forgiving yourself.....
Acceptance is also so freeing! When we accept others the way they are we can relax and just love them... To accept circumstances is the same thing, "loving what is" instead of how we think it should be which is futile and painful.
More than anything I have now made my relationship to God my 1st and most important. As you all know I love my quotes so will end this by saying "whatever the question..... love is the answer""In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer ."

Regrets due to drinking is a good topic. It's a double-edge sword for me. I want to let them go because they give me such horrible feelings inside, yet, I want to hang on to those feelings to remind myself of the bad side of drinking. I guess all I can do is move forward and try to leave the insanity behind.
Cyn, it's good to see you posting more. I missed you.
Sped, Mindfulness might be a good word to weave in to our title: Mindful March, March Mindfulness? Now 'magical' has some competition! I'm going to have to let these ideas roll around in my head for awhile, I can't decide right now.
Lav, congrats on 11 months! You are awesome.
Chill, I saw your post on the blessings thread and really, really liked it, so I am copying it here:Hi i had a rather strange thought today..... it was a sense of huge gratitiude towards ALCOHOL
is it not a true blessing that drinking large quantities provided us with such horrendous hangovers?!
The days spend with internal pain, burning sensations, headaches, nausea, acidity, bloating not to mention all the cuts and bruises....... were they not blessings to help us see how wonderful AF life could beDill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Morning all,
Dill - March Mindfulness sounds good
About the regrets - I think I've pretty managed to stuff them in a folder & file them away so my that path forward could be clear, uncluttered! Basically, there's no sense in beating yourself up over history that you just cannot change. Better to put it away & move on.
Red, Chill, Cyn, Shelley, LBH, Dill & everyone I hope you all have a great Saturday without snow..............we are still having flurries the day after the infamous 'Snow-icane'..........
Starting to get seriously bored with this winter weather!!!

Victory! a day-time post! Hello all - I attained my goal of a snuggly morning...got the dogs fed and to the dog park, then came back to have another cup of tea and read part of a magazine - unheard of. It's funny, I have gotten so out of balance that I felt a little stressed-out about sitting there not working on my ToDo list! That's truly pathetic, but I'm proud that I am engaged in some re-training. As an insightful mentor of mine would put it, the wonderful task of "violating my conditioning" (he was a big believer in the philosophy that every behavior in life is a learned response, and you can always learn a new response).
So, I'm off to putter around and see what can be done without being 'driven'. Mindfulness - even the word is delicious.
Red, you sound so great about weekends now - LBH hope your parrot is doing better, sounds like it should be a 'service' parrot, bringing hilarity into people's lives - Chill, you are spot on about the #s - Sped, fine job taking care of yourself -
Love to all, and have a great Saturday -to the light
