I heard a rumor that the temps will be in the 50's this weekend. Goodbye snow - hello mud!!!!!!

I'm like you Greenie - I'm a happy traveler, never want the trip to end
Speaking of shopping, there is an outlet mall about 45 min. North of here - it's been calling out to me. Think I'll see if my daughter or daughter-in-law is available or maybe both of them......we could make a day of it!!!

Good Morning Ab Fabbers!

Greenie....your home looks like paradise to me!! Seriously! My dream is to live on the ocean! Moving to Colorado after loving California was tough! I am still a landlocked ocean girl after all these years.....sigh...I would love to wake up to your view!! Enjoy!

Cindy, sorry to hear you are sick on the road! That really, sucks, been there and dones that. But, it is of some relief to be sick and not badly hungover!

DG! Your shopping spree sounds like fun! I love finding real bargain finds! It is like a treasure hunt for grown ups! LOL During the mid 80's and early 90's when I worked for Borghese, I wore suites, 2 inch heals and all the glitz, every day! I both loved and hated it! Secretly, I still miss the shoulder pads! LOL Now I own only 4 really nice suits and were them about a dozen times a year! Business casual, yet stylish, fits the bill these days! A Nordstrom Rack just opened a couple of miles from me!! Yeah! I recieved a card in the mail from Aveda, to come in a pick up my Personalized B-Day gift!! I think I will do just that! Happy Birthday to Us!

Well...another busy work day ahead for me! I hope that all are well and content!

Hello friends.

Greenie, I can't even imagine being where you were. I've led a pretty sheltered life out here in the west. I am so envious!

We have mud! And snow. And ice. BUT, there is green stuff under all of that!!! YAY! Yesterday it was 50 degrees, the birds where chirping and it looked, sounded, felt and smelled like spring!!! Yippeeee!!!

Hope you're feeling better Cinders! I would hate to be sick in a hotel!!! My youngest was sick over the weekend at his aunts house--not too pleasant. And then he got sick again 2 nights later!

But, you do live a short distance from the beach, right? Funny, I was born in SC, though I have not been back there since I was a child. I was in NC for a wedding a few years ago and loved that area of the country. One of these days, I will take a trip back to my birthplace!

I live a couple hours from the beach. And the mountains. So it's a nice location in that respect. The couple were delighted with the arrangement so I'm a sure bet for their future vacations. Could this be my new career?

Greenie - you made me homesick - I grew up in the DC area & had a beach house in Delaware every summer. Friends had a ski house in the winter in PA, so we had the best of all worlds. Now I, like Kate, am land locked. it's wierd not living 'on the edge'. Anyway, the pics are wonderful - looks like it was bliss.

Sounds like the shopping bug has bitten everyone! I, for one, will be wearing my new boots today DG! Can't wait! We'll have 50 today - it may be my last chance before we actually get real spring weather here. We have tons on mud now that snow is gone, but that's ok if it means the end of winter. Hell on my floors tho with these dogs coming in & out.

Hi Ab Fabbers! Funny Girl, I am thrilled to see you here again today (you GO girl! :yougo and I'm mighty jealous of your new boots! We had the kind of weather today where the boots I have are a bit much but a dressier, softer leather pair would have been perfect. Well, now I know what will be at the top of my fall shopping list!

Greenie, all I can say about the pictures and your house sitting gig is WOW! Just WOW. I understand completely why an endless road trip for you and little doggie might have been OK! OK. I saw the Johnny Depp movie you mentioned. Tree? What tree? Were there other actors in that movie?

Lav, we are sharing mud season with you today. The poor doggies will be very tired of spending extra time in their crates before this is over. They sure have a lot of fun romping around on 5 acres of mud though, before the crate time! :H

Hi Raven.joy! What's up today on that side of the "pond?" Speaking of...where's Marshy today?

Kate, my hairdresser who is always very mod looking LOVES Nordstom Rack. Her and her husband own an apartement in "the city" (downtown Chicago) and they spend a couple of weekends a month there. Guess what she and her daughter do????

LVT, I haven't ventured out far enough in our mud today to see if there is any green stuff underneath. I'm thinking we should have some crocuses (sp) up but I haven't got close enough to look yet! Your post made me think of gardening, and the fact that I haven't given it a thought yet! I need to at least start doing some planning soon.

Cindi, I hope you are feeling better! When do you get to go home?

My day today is pretty strung out. I'm a big spoiled brat because I know that many folks have a strung out day all the time. If I were a Super Hero today, I would be The Whiner. That's because I had busines stuff in the morning, a Women's Chamber group lunch, and now a dinner tonight for a board I'm on that doesn't even start until 7PM. The president of this board is a big drinker. I can only hope that he will get an early start and be ready to start ordering food by 7. Otherwise it's going to be a long night. A guy I know from AA is the husband of one of the other women on the board. I saw him this AM and asked if he was going. We agreed that neither of us want to, but that it's the right thing to do. Under much duress. We made a pact to both go and try to make sure we get the food program underway immediately. We shook on it. :H (he better be there or I'm gonna kick his butt during the serenity prayer next time I see him at a meeting!) :H

The good news is I'm joking about this and truly not stressing out. I can't believe I'm learning to "take it easy" and not get all worked up over stuff I would rather not do. In the old days I would have spend several days or maybe even a week in a stew of dread over it. I'm glad I'm learning to live more peacefully and happily these days.

Well, I need to get off of here and make good use of the time between now and dinner getting ready for Saturdays Mary Kay party!

I am still sick and in the hotel room, which is way too hot. I keep nudging the thermostat down and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

However, I am sober, and that is good.

But I am sick, and that is not good. grrrr.

Spring is upon us and I am doing what I can to make it come faster. Which is nothing but wait. :H

Hello everyone..well it's 5:15pm here..and just about the worst time of day for me..hubby left for work bout 3 oclockish and Im sittin here jacket on..one foot almost out the door..dying to go get some AL..today is the 15th day, if I make it..the urges are horrible..thinkin of going to get some M&M's, I can get to that store and back real quick..the liquor store is a bit further..thank god...crappy feeling..tryin to keep busy...I even went to the gym today, exercised, ate yogurt for brkfast, salad at lunch..eating healthy....but the damn cravings are horrible...does the L-Glutamine really help?? anyone wanna weigh in on that, Id appreciate it..I cant afford to buy the whole kit right now..Oh well think Im gonna go for the candy...I'll drop back in...thanks..
