It's good to read so many positive posts. Today will be a good day to get some things done outside, I think. Yesterday Mr. Dill turned over our garden and put up a fence panel for our snap peas. We planted them yesterday, too.

LBH, thanks for posting. I know it must be hard for you right now. You have been on my mind a lot. I hope you are recuperating well.

I'll be heading out in a few hours to pick up my grandson. Wish me luck on my 24 hour solo marathon with him!!!!

It's snowing in New Mexico. Typical for the high desert/mountain region.
But I am still in California. My last full day. Will watch my sons run the Los Angeles marathon tomorrow and then head home. Am so full of wondering why I live so far away from my kids, especially since they all live in the same area.
Thankful for antabuse on this trip. Too many feelings stirred up. Needed that extra safeguard to stay sober.
Son #2 just arrived. Later.

What kind of peas are you growing, Sooty? Have you planted them yet? March is the time for planting peas here in Ohio. We planted sugar snaps. Those are the kind where you eat the whole thing, pod and all. MMMMM!

Lav, I sure hope your 24 hour marathon is going OK. I know for a fact that I would be worn out if it were me!

Sped, How fun that must be to watch your sons run the marathon! It sounds like this has been an emotional trip for you in some ways. Glad you packed your antabuse! I sure understand you wanting to live near your kids. Do you think you might move? What's holding you back?

Chill, your positivity is awesome! You are an absolute poster girl for the AF lifestyle!

Rust, I'm glad the supps are helping you so much. I wonder if you really will need to take them for the rest of your life. I bet not. But I agree with you if that's what it takes, so be it!! I started SamE two weeks ago and I believe it is helping. My mood is better. Of course, it might be because we are finally getting some nice weather, too!!

That's fantastic. Red, that you worked your way through that intense craving. Each time you manage that you are strengthening a new and better habit for yourself. It's a journey, isn't it?

So far so good for good old Lav
My grandson is sleeping, all is well! We had fun outside today doing all the things I had set up for us. He had a ton of fun taking a bubble bath in my spa tub too! Now - if he sleeps thru the night......

Chill, you can come any time! We'll be happy to introduce you to our hens, the little guy thinks they're hysterical
Dill, I feel good now, ask me again tomorrow afternoon around 4 pm, ha ha!

Sooty, we are expecting rain here too but not until Monday. I guess that's OK after the stretch of perfect weather we've had.

Shelley, safe travels back home. So glad you enjoyed your time on the west coast with your sons!
I really enjoy spending time with my grown up kids! I hope you get back to see them again very soon

Im off to meet a friend for coffee then we are dog walking in the country...

Now im AF my brain has a will of its own, its like an untamed animal! Im loving all the ideas its coming up with but need to find the off switch before it burns itself out :H

Ok guys, im excited..... on thursday I fly to London for the weekend to finally meet a wonderful friend who I met here on MWO!! I need to stay calm......:wow:

Lav, it sounds like you had a fab time! It's tiring, I know, but so worth it, eh? AF life has really been a blessing for you.

It looks like we may get another nice day here. Yesterday I made a clean sweep of the garage and took a walk. Today Mr. Dill and I meet up with his brother and wife at a halfway between us point to have dinner. It's about an hour's drive and it should be pretty. Still no daffodils blooming here, but they are almost ready.

Good morning to all.

I am so happy that I made it through last night's dinner AF. It was not easy, and I was surprised that 1)my husband, who agreed to be AF with me, was clearly wanting to drink and 2) my friend insisted that I taste her martini, I mean insisted. I had told her that I do not want to drink, AT ALL, since I will soon be fifty. So she knew, but because her drink was not very good, she wanted me to taste it. I think she does not get it. Anyway, it was irritating, but I stuck to my resolve, and had iced tea. I also had a great time, good conversation, laughing till my face hurt, and no regrets.

I love being AF, love myself AF, and will be devastated if I weaken and drink. I am telling you, I really need to do this for myself. I am going to vow to post daily, and plan my weekends. When I read about Sheri, Doggygirl, Lavande, Mario, and others who have stayed AF for a long time, I want what they have. Peace.:h

I am so grateful today that I slept well last night, have respect for myself, and can plan my Sunday to be a useful and joyful day. As long as I do not take that first drink, I am able to live the life I want to have. Also, I have complained of anxiety and depression, and they seem to have left me.

My son asked me yesterday if when I drink I every have messed up sleep and worry. I was able to tell him yes and warn him to only have two drinks or he will pay. I was happy that he asked me and sad that he asked me. You know what I mean. :upset: Bittersweet, having two feelings at once.

Today, I commit to being AF.

Hello everyone, glad to see we're still marching along. I've been gardening all morning and the sun was quite warm. I have a plan to cover the ground in between my shrubs with black plastic and bark to try to keep the weeds down. I made a start today and am finding it hard work but it will be worth it if it works.
Dill we're growing the peas which you pod - to be honest I don't know what variety they are as a friend is starting some off in his greenhouse and asked if we wanted some and I said yes! I never turn down the offer of plants
