AF APRIL 2010 ~ WEEK TWO
Good morning all!
Chill, you are an inspiration! Well done dealing with those cravings so well.
Red, I am enjoying the spring, too. It's wonderful how smelling a hyacinth will make you absolutely present and in the moment!
Rust, it sounds like you have been through an AF obstacle course these past number of days and that you got through it! Good job. Beware, there may be some more obstacles. I find that I am at my weakest after everyone leaves and I am alone and on my own. Strength to you!
Sped, yes, we do sometimes make a day of fishing and have a fish fry. Mr. D treats me to fresh caught fish. He even cleans and fries it!!
LBH, Lav, Cyn, Spud, Amelia, IAD, Raven, DG, Sooty and all who check in, have an AF Saturday, and remember to stop and smell the spring flowers!Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

AF APRIL 2010 ~ WEEK TWO
Morning,
Another non run rest day for me, tapering down for my big half marathon next Sunday.
Red, thanks for your spring report. I especially love redbuds.
Chill, glad you're feeling better. Don't they just come and go, those moods, I think of them like waves. Congrats on 100 days. Today I have 8 months. Can't imagine turning back now. Looking forward to a trip does wonders for my mood. Spending the entire month of June exploring the state of California. Also spending time with my sons in probably the last place they will all live together at the same time. Son #2 moves to the midwest in July.
Dill, I love catfish, do you ever make hush puppies?
Have a new friend. LBH's cat Sam is officially in love with me! Hope to see the Lady this weekend.
Morning Lav, Rust, Sooty, all to come.

AF APRIL 2010 ~ WEEK TWO
:l Woo-hoo Chill and Sped - Well Done!!!!
Thanks Red for the blossom report. I grew up in NE, and our house had plum, cherry, apricot, apple and peach trees, plus magnolias and forsythia, peonies....how I miss that explosion.
Dill - my family had a cabin on the Platte River - now that's catfish country! When I lived in MN, springtime would be for catching 'sunnies'. We would fish so long that at night in the tent I would close my eyes and still see the bobber floating on the water!
Lav - soak up the water images for me today --
Thanks all for the virtual spring and water and memories.....to the light

AF APRIL 2010 ~ WEEK TWO
Greetings!
Hey Rust, how's the garden growing?
Today we have our grandson over to spend the afternoon. It'll be fun. He is 4 now and so exploring the outdoors will be the order of the day. Yesterday Mr. D and I took a long walk in the woods looking for spring wildflowers. We found dutchman's breeches, red trillium, spring beauties, violets, jack-in-the-pulpit and after searching intensely, bloodroot. We looked but didn't find any mushrooms though. We have so many deer around here that I don't know if we'll get any mushrooms!
Sped, I have made hushpuppies, but I don't usually. Lots of times we'll have corn on the cob and cole slaw when we have a fish fry.
Cyn, thanks for sharing you memory of fishing for "sunnies". I can relate to seeing the image of the bobber as you drifted of to sleep!
Lav, how was your day on Chesapeaek Bay? What did you have for lunch?
LBH, how is you eye? Any perceptible improvement?
Hello, Sooty of the cliffs!
IAD, I loved that cartoon!Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

Crabcakes for lunch yesterday Dill! Yum Enjoy your afternoon with your grandson, he's at a great age. Mine just started walking this week - fun!
Rustop, happy gardening to you too!
Today we are shoveling all the chicken poop bedding out of the coop & tilling it into the garden. Makes for beautiful tomato & bean plants
Happy running Shelley! Run some for me, please.

AF APRIL 2010 ~ WEEK TWO
Happy Sunday all -
A quick hello and goodbye as I dash out the door to go to my 'other' city - another trip to pick up HB at the airport, spend a night w/him before he goes back to finish up his gig in the midwest. Thankfully, this is the last week of this job, so by next weekend 'the pack' will be back together. (The dogs are getting cranky, they've had enough of me. My girl dog just sits and stares at me as if to say 'is this all there is?!')
Have fun gardening, Rust. Sped, run a little for me too, please? Dill enjoy the 4 yr old. Lav - what a great metaphor! How nice to think that all that s**t in our lives can be recycled into good-for-you stuff...hmmm, will be pondering that on my 2 hour drive this morning...
Cheers, all to come -to the light

AF APRIL 2010 ~ WEEK TWO
Short check in. I have lots of little projects today which I think most people would find terribly dull, but these days it seems I am easily amused. Tomorrow I have work which came unexpectedly quickly but the assignment sounded intriguing so I agreed. It is out of town so Lord Bird Heart will have to drive me again and wait around for four or five hours but he has something to work on himself there and doesn?t seem to mind. We both seem to appreciate the ordinary. I haven?t noticed any improvement in my eye but don?t have another follow up until the 27th. It makes work really hard but everything else is perking along OK. Hope you each find your way through a good Sunday. Love, Ladybird.may we be well
