    AF Daily Tuesday April 13

    Good morning Ab Fabbers,

Looks like our run of warm & sunny weather is over! Woke up to cloudy skies & chilly temps :upset: Oh well.
I have plenty of things to keep me busy indoors today & am expecting my DIL & grandson later this afternoon.

Wishing everyone a terrific AF Tuesday!

Hi Lav and all to come!

I have a busy day here today - lots of paperwork and stuff but enough to keep me busy - I should be pretty set up for the rest of the week after today though which is nice.

Still waiting for the campral to kick in but not drinkning so all is good. Who knows, maybe it's working and I just don't know it!

Anyway, zoom zoom, gotta fly - have a great AF day everyone!
Every day is a day to start over and remember that I am powerless over my addiction. I will no longer give the BEAST any power over me - he can go straight to hell.

      Morning fabbie abbies!!

      Hey ho lav & uni!

Met a friend for lunch yesterday. We used to split bottles of wine. The place makes their own lemonade and it sure was good.

      Sometimes I wish I wasn't so "driven".

      Deter.. you OK?

      Have a turned-on tuesday!

PS: mercury goes retrograde Saturday. Sort of a "Murphy's Law" thing. Be flexible, patient, extra careful, and precisely clear with communications. Try not to sign contracts and the like. Do be reflective, contact old friends, do your homework or planning for something you might want to start when mercury is direct after 3 weeks.

I've been out to the market to stock up on fruit for snacks at work for the week. Drowning in oranges, lemons, grapes and kiwi fruit now. Getting warm out there, finally.

Uni - I don't understand the different meds available (apart from Antabuse, which is very black and white). So what does Campral do exactly? How long do you take it for? Any side effects, like tiredness etc?

Det - you're an early bird today. Work stress is a bugger, isn't it? I'm still learning to step outside of it now I can't drink it away temporarily. It still trips me up sometimes though.

Greenie - what do you mean about wishing you weren't so driven?

Lav - have fun with the nipper!

Marshy, I have a hard time sitting still. Lemons? You snack on lemons? uch:
Uni I was wondering the same thing sort of. How will you "know" when it's working. Or not. What will you feel or not feel?

Nah, I squeeze them over my no-cheese, no-cholesterol, no-fun salads.

Yes, I have trouble sitting still sometimes. Well, not so much sitting still as concentrating on one thing for a long time. I read a great article about how to combat that recently but I've forgotten the details :H

                Hey Guys

I see Lemons are the theme for today.... Greeny I have to ask, your friend that you used to share a bottle of wine with, has she gone AF too?

                  :H THAT is FUNNY!

Hello fellow travelers. I fell face first in some (well, more than "some") sugar yesterday and I feel like I have a hangover today! I'm so tired I could fall face first on my desk. I need a nap. All this when I SHOULD be planting lettuce and spinach, then getting tiffed up for a business dinner tonight.

Yuk. Why do I do this to myself?

I can't even imagine what some drinking would make me feel like......

                  [/pity party]

Greenie, is your "turned-on Tuesday" some sort of preparation for Hump Day???

                  [/gutter mind]

Have a fabbie day you abbie people! Special congrats to Uni doing a fabbie job getting back on the wagon!

You girls are so much fun! Oh.. and you, too, Det! :H

I CAN do without the cheese and whatnot on the salad... but I can't seem to live without sugar, DG. I have a terrible sweet tooth, there's just no two ways about it.

Uni, I have no clue about the Campral.. but I'd just as soon decide that it's working, if I were you!

Greenie, you do a lot of lunches! I do hope you don't show up there in your robe, though!

Ack! It's almost 3:30.. OMG, where did the day go????
                    Sorry, gotta run! Yikes!

Campral does not reduce cravings per se, but it does return your brain back to normal faster chemically. It very much reduces PAWS, which is awesome.

I would love to take it but it gives me really bad gastro-intestinal "issues" which I would rather not discuss on this forum.

Reducing the amount of time we have to deal with PAWS is very helpful to us alcoholics.

But, Campral does not reduce the early on cravings.

The concept is "remain AF and over time you will heal very much faster." That is a great concept.

No, but she cut back considerably because of me. Not because she's afraid I'll feel tormented watchng her drink, but out of admiration and joining in on the health benefits. (she and husb are in the wine biz) We're going on vacation together soon so we'll see how that goes. (for her... I KNOW it will be AF for me) This is another of my free vacations - It's like I won the vacation lottery this year. :H

I AM on a lunch binge. :H Living alone, I just have to break the food monotony sometimes. They have been spur of the moment too. I've been pretty stressed lately and sometimes I just have to get up and leave. I should meditate or walk - it would be cheaper. OK, too late today. I went to another mexican place after getting insider info on their tortilla soup. Make you swoon. It was loaded with fresh perfectly ripe chunks of avacado that just melted in your mouth.

                              Close, Sweetie,

                              Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome.

It lasts from 12 to 18 months.

                              It is a chemical "thing."

We have done "chemical" things to our brains.

Campral can reduce the time for it to be healed by many months.

PAWS is a serious reason for relapse in the "later" months. When we are wondering why we are wandering around in our bathrobes eating figs. :H:H

Couldn't help that, Greenie. It is such a great visual.

                              Love,
