Just starting the thread. Last night I tried coloring my hair for the very first time - cautiously, with just a rinse that lasts for a few shampoos - and it covered a bit but otherwise didn't do that much. Having never done it before, I'm a little afraid of the results. It has always been humorouse to me that when women encounter a crisis, often one of the early steps at resolution is - change their hair!

Good Morning all,
Just starting the thread. Last night I tried coloring my hair for the very first time - cautiously, with just a rinse that lasts for a few shampoos - and it covered a bit but otherwise didn't do that much. Having never done it before, I'm a little afraid of the results. It has always been humorouse to me that when women encounter a crisis, often one of the early steps at resolution is - change their hair!Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.

Good morning Tulipe and thanks for getting us started today! Boy I made lots and LOTS of changes when I first got sober. I had really let myself go - mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally - all the way around! I started coloring my hair too. Among other changes. You may not recognize yourself a year from now!!! I tried coloring it myself to start, but then treated myself to a hair dresser. Think of all the money we save by not drinking. Spending some of that so we can be 29 forever is a good thing.
I am up early and all tiffed up for a Mary Kay morning! I could not imagine doing the stuff I do today with a hangover. Not at my age (29) NO WAY!
There will be no drinking for me today.
Hello also to johnny H (so great to have you and Tulipe and other newcomers aboard!) and also LVT and Lav and Leelou and Marshy and Deter and Uni and everyone who is a Fabbie Abbie!
Have a great AF day!

Good morning Ab Fabbers!
Cloudy & about to rain here today but that's OK! I'll just whip out my 'things to do on a rainy day list'. I always manage to find something to keep me out of trouble
I need to look for an online dream interpretation website. I had a couple of strange dreams last night.....most likely due to my current stress level, oh well.
Wishing everyone a terrific AF Friday.
Hope your MK day goes well DG.
Lav
PS: Tulipe, I've been coloring my hair since high school - it's funAF since 03/26/09

Hello all!
There was a chill wind blowing across the pool this morning when I went for a swim on the way into work. And, of course, as soon as I got out the sun came out. :H
Tulipe - I've never coloured my hair but the encroaching grey means I'm finally going to do it next time I get it cut. I had it cut a couple of weeks ago and asked my hairdresser all about the different options, and he got out a colour chart for me to have a look at to reassure me :H I don't know why I'm so nervous about it.
Sooo, I'll be getting it done sometime at the beginning of July.
DG - have fun with the MK crew!
Lav - Stress really plays havoc with dreams. Are you trying any stress-busting techniques?sigpic

Hi AF-ers!
Been to a yoga class today, 1st in a long time so could be stiff tomorrow. I have been going to the gym all week but miss my bike rides in the Algarve sunshine....
On the topic of hair.... Im a bottle blonde and when I quit drinking I decided i needed to go darker, I think I thought that now i was sober i should be taken more seriously :H One of the few friends who knew my situation laughed her head off, she had done exactly the same when she quit the booze 3 years earlier and said it would never last. She was absolutely right.... within 2 months I was back to beach blonde again
Looking forward to going into Boston tomorrow, apparently we are going on the "duck boat" (?) Fish pie for dinner tonight followed by my weekend indulgence of chocolate, I bought a big box of toblerone pieces, white, milk and dark choc mix.... yum
Have a great AF Friday x"In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer ."

Hello af friends
I'll apologize right away, I'm feeling a little somber this evening. I went to a celebration of life for an acquaintance today. I'm not sure how old she was, maybe 8-10 years older than me. She died from cancer. It was sad. I'm starting to feel my own mortality. This aging process is still so surreal to me. (even though I'm 29 like DG has been the last 3 years at least). I'm thinking it might be the right time to tell hubby my concerns for his health and that I'd like him to consider making some lifestyle changes so we can keep him around longer. I'm also going to try harder to live life to the fullest.
That's all I got tonight._______________
