Aw, Lav. You sound a bit despondent. Hope you manage to keep your chin up today.

I've been for a swim, then bought some more compost to sow more seeds in pots. The first lot of seeds I sowed a couple of weeks ago don't seem to be doing too well coz the weather turned really cold again after I sowed them but hopefully they'll start doing something if it ever warms up. I'm determined to eat my own salad this summer!

Off to book group tonight. I hated the book but one of the women in the group recommended it so I need to be diplomatic! We all sit around drinking tea (unlike some book groups I know that friends go to where people take wine) so although we disagree about things, we always have a laugh rather than those disagreements people have when they've been drinking which we all know can go a bit wrong to say the least.

Greenie! Just seen you're back - good to see you.

      Phew!!!

Got a load of work done today. In this room at this desk.... all day....

Really wanna go to the doggie park, but there is a class thing at the library on how to care for a centipede lawn. If you had a gander at the tundra I'm sure you would agree that I'd do better to go to the class than the doggie park.

So.... make a salad and off I go.

Speaking of salad, marshy it seems late to be sowing salad type seeds. I'm already battling aphids and mealy bug and white fly. grrrrrrrr.....

And.... what book did you read? I just finished The Art of Racing in The Rain. It is a MUST read. I can see it becoming a movie.

Did anyone watch the survivor finale? I about fell on the floor when Sandra burned Russel's hat.

Can you tell I had too much coffee? Really, does it show? :H

Welcome back Greenie, excuse my ignorance but what is a centipede lawn??!

How was your vacation? Im still in USA for another week and Im having a great time but Im noticing that away from the protected little world i have created at home AL is all around me and im experiencing a lot of "wouldnt it be nice" thoughts. I wouldnt be that stupid but it is a bit disconcerting..... At home I have it all down to fine precision, where I go, what i do, even down to avoiding the wine isle in the supermarket.

And Im desperately missing my darling doggy Elle, luckily with modern technology my parents have held her up to the skype cam although that made me even worse!!!

Just got home and am waiting for leccy blanket to heat up before going to bed. Oh, the glamour.

Chill, I was wondering if you were still in Boston. It's fantastic that you are vacationing in another country AF. That rocks all over the place!!

Centipede is a type of southern grass. I didn't learn very much at the presentation. I'm not willing to put more time or money into this residence than necessary. It isn't where I want to nest. I don't know where "that" is, but it isn't here.

Marshy...:H I'm glam right behind you. Grass class at the library and now I'm looking out the window feeling guilty about wanting to put on jammies and watch a movie because it's still light :H

Having no idea who Russel is or Sandra, I can't speak to that.

I can speak to a centipede lawn, though.

You must live in an "exclusive area" to have one of those lawns.

For those not in the know, centipede is the grass they put on putting greens in the south USA.

In order to get rid of weeds, Greenie, you must read the bottles and see if your grass is going to be hurt by weed killer. Otherwise, what the green's keepers do is wait until the lawn goes dormant (brown) and then put Roundup on it. Do that in the Fall and early Spring when weeds are emerging but BEFORE the grass is growing.

I love centipede grass, btw. Lots of memories from teen years. I had a friend whose dad was a lawn care business owner. He used to paint his grass in the winter. Seriously.

                Love,
                Cindi

Uh, Oh. Greenie won't like that method.

I've never heard of a centipede lawn either. And I don't watch Survivor anymore. Sigh.
                  Time for bed though.:h

:H You would be correct LVT!

Falling out of my chair over "exclusive" :H:H I saved a front page article from the Metro section of the paper about how the little starter home neighborhood is in such a state of decline. Thought I may need it in divorce negotiations Be careful what you wish for Paint, though... hummmmm
