Lovely to see everyone and I hope Saturday is going well for us all.

May we be sober - Week 4

Rusty, :welcome:. The more the merrier! I agree with you that AF feels wonderful. I sleep so much better!

Sooty, I will try to chat tomorrow at 5:00 Ohio time. But I can't promise I'll make it because we are going to a picnic in the afternoon. I'm not sure what time I'll get home.

Rustop, I had no clue you are in Ireland! I guess it's called the Emerald Island because the rain makes it green and lush?

It's a beautiful warm day here today and I have had fun putting flowers in the ground. I ran out of flowers and need to go get more to finish out the area I'm working on. I'm using a variety of pink shades of impatients. It's going to be gorgeous! I have lots of herbs growing in pots on my deck and they are doing well. I have dill, rosemary, parsley, chervil, celeriac, basil and cilantro.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

May we be sober - Week 4

        Good afternoon friends,

A busy Saturday so far for me & about to get busier!
My grandson is on the way over for dinner & an evening with Grandma

Yes, Mr Lav was here for grass cutting & conversation. His mood seems to be a little lighter these days but I'm not hearing any plans to return. I think I'm going to let it play out, see what happens. There is no use in banging my head trying to turn his thinking............

I vote for June Journey - sounds positive! Sooty, turn the sober bus in the right direction. Looks like plenty of us will be riding with you

Rusty, welcome, glad you are riding along with us! My daughter reports a false alarm, no pregnancy yet for her. My DIL is doing well so I'm happy for now.

I just checked on my broccoli, looks like I can start ciutting it soon, YUM!
Dill, I gave my herb garden always gives me lots of happiness. I added new rosemary & lemon balm plants this year.

OK, hope everyone has a great AF day.
        Lav

          Raising hand

I'm here if you'll have me. More later, I guess. Been off the grid for some time. Just wanted to raise a flag of surrender...or something. Missed you all and myself too. Please, a little hand up now. I need it. This lifeboat doesn't have much air left in it. Graduated with honors, but it sure doesn't feel like much without my sobriety fully in tact. Permission to come aboard?

          xoxo

May we be sober - Week 4

            Good Morning Guys!
So good to see you back Lode, put on your lifejacket and we will help you hang on.

Lav - You sound like you have reach acceptance which is a great place to be, we cant win when we try to swim upstream, going with the flow wherever it may take us is all we can do. I love the teachings of Byron Katie and she always says "you cant teach a cat to bark, no matter how long and how hard you try, it just isnt going to bark!" Acceptance can be so liberating.

Rusty - Im hoping today you are on day 4 and feeling good! Keep enjoying these clear headed mornings.

Spuddle - :l I just want to give you a hug, you KNOW how good life is AF so put the crap behind you and deal with today.

Dill - Enjoy your picnic today, its another scorcher here!

Sooty - It looks like we have quite a full bus for june, I know we cant avoid ALL the hills and bumps but if we stick together I think we will all be fine....

I am enjoying my solitude weekend, the phone is still off and I havent seen anyone since thursday, my cold is going into my chest now and Im doing a lot of sleeping but I believe most physical ailments come from our emotions and this is my body's way of dealing with the stress I always pretend I dont feel....

A good Sunday to you all, I will check in later....

May we be sober - Week 4

              Good morning everyone

:welcome: Of course you are welcome, jump on board and join us in our June journey.

The sun is shining this morning, lovely to see it after the rain yesterday but really the garden needed it. Our veggies are doing well, cauliflower well up, so are the potatoes and broad beans. Am using the lettuce for my salads. We had late frost so some of the stuff we sowed did not make it but we have re-sown some more onions etc. The glass house is also going well. Mr Rustop spent most of yesterday in it, tending his tomotoes, cucumber etc. We also have strawberries and my blueberry bush is flowering. Have to say I am enjoying it this year. Being sober makes you much more productive!!

About to take the doggies for a walk and then I think I will go to mass. It's a special one for kids doing exams.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

:lLode!!:l I'm so happy to see you back! Congrats on the degree. Now back to the real work!:H

Chill, I'm so sorry you are feeling poorly. Take it easy, get lots of rest and fluids. Maybe Lav will make you a pot of chicken soup!

Lav, I also have herbs growing in my herb garden. I have lavendar, of course! I also have lemon balm, spearmint, and chamomile.

Rustop, Mr. D has blueberry bushes and raspberry bushes. They're looking good this year!

One Day at a Time reminds us to live in a sane, natural way. It reminds us we can't control the past. It reminds us we can't control the future. We can live only in the present. We have only the moment. We have only today.

I was performing a simple errand yesterday afternoon, picking up a pizza to take home and bake. I was so aware and grateful at that moment to be "free". It felt like such a gift to be sober with the sun shining and people around me coming and going.

Hello all and happy sunday. The sun is shining here again today so this afternoon Mr S and I are going to the local park to listen to a swing band - should be fun.
Lode congrats on the degree and welcome back - just jump on the bus, we're ready to roll thru june.
I'll look in at chat later tonight but if you're all out having picnics and things that's ok - I understand. Perhaps chat is better for the winter!
Have a really good day folks - so glad to be here with you all

                    Good morning friends,

Lode, congrats on the degree! We have missed you, glad to see you back. Jump on Sooty's sober bus, she's driving quite nicely these days

Heat, humidity & sunshine here today - the AC is on so I will be in & out all day.
Had a good time with my 'dinner date' last night! He fed me all the pasta from his highchair tray but ate the chicken chunks His vocabulary has just exploded this month - amazing! He is now putting together 3-4 word sentences. Gee, come to think of it - I have better conversations these days with my grandson than I do with my husband!!!!!

Chill, even though it's warm outside, I'll put a pot of chicken soup on for you. My chicken soup heals anything

Rustop, we were in Ireland 7 years ago in June, it was lovely! Wouldn't mind a return trip there!

Dill, my lavender beds are very happy right now. I did some massive pruning a while back - it was getting a bit out of hand. The bees love it!!

Greetings to everyone this morning. Wishing everyone a wonderful AF Sunday.
Sooty, Not sure if I can get on chat later - I'll try

May we be sober - Week 4

                        Good Sunday AF Morning Everyone!

Day 4 for me! WHOO WHOO!

Lav, great that Mr.Lav mowed the lawn and is in better spirits. He is probably really grateful that you don't nag him and that you're supportive and sober, too! :-) Glad your DIL is doing better, and your grandson sounds like he's so much fun.

Lav and Dill....do you grow mint, too? One of my greatest hurdles to becoming AF was what do I drink if I can't have wine since I loved the taste of it so much? The gym where I work out serves pitchers of ice water with mint, rosemary, cucumber (and sometimes lime) in it and it's really good! It is also supposed to be good for flushing out your system. So, now that's what I drink in lieu of wine (or vodka on really bad days). I also got addicted to SOBE Lifewater. It's flavored water with no calories. Delicious!

Chill-feel better soon! Bummer to be sick!

Rustop-I'm Irish and have never been to Ireland and I am dying to go!

Spuddle-hope it's another AF day for you. I love the UK. I've been there on business several times. The people are so nice!

                        Lode-welcome back!

Well, I'm off to brunch with a close friend...hard to believe this will be an AF brunch. Let me tell you what past brunches have been like: "I'll have a Mimosa. Nah, forget that...just give me champage. I'll just have one!" (Yeah, right!)

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone! I'll be planting geraniums when I get home.

I'm so grateful to have all of you as friends!

                        Love,

May we be sober - Week 4

                          Good morning,
Just back from my running group. Did a trail run in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. Then we all (20 of us) went out to breakfast, outside, on a patio, beautiful morning. Perfect way to celebrate Memorial Day.
Now ready to get down and do some serious packing. Leaving for California tomorrow morning. Can't believe how unstructured this trip is. Have faith that it will take some sort of shape as I go along.

Lode, am so glad you are back with us. Know LBH will be happy about it too when she returns from San Fran.

                          Rustop, your garden sounds wonderful.

Chill, your alone time sounds very therapeutic, hope that bug works its way out soon.

Rust, have a delicious brunch. I personally do not miss the taste of wine at all. For me it was all about getting drunk, not what I was tasting.

Have a good Sunday everybody. I am bound and determined to get into that chat room today at the designated time although I may be a tad bit late.

                          Everybody have a nice Sunday.

                                Good morning everyone

Dill - Thanks for the quotes, yesterday's one was so true. I still post on the ODAT thread.

Lode - Hope all well with you and you are doing well on this AF journey.

Rusty - Well done on Day 5. Thanks for the tip regarding mint. I do have some grown but dont use it very often, now I have a use for it.

Lav - chocolate mint, ummm, what do use it with, ice cream?

Chill - Hope you are feeling better.

Sooty - Hope you enjoyed swing band yesterday.

Sped - Your run and breakfast sounded fun. Enjoy your trip.

Another beautiful morning here. Have walked the dogs, watered the garden and now face the job of pulling out the fridge/freezer, washing machine, dryer and cleaning the dust bunnies from under them. I know my visitors will not be checking under the appliances but its just as well I have visitors because cleaning is not one of my favourite occupations!!
                                Have a great week everyone.
