    July Jamboree ~ Week 3

    Good morning Jammers,

I am extremely sluggish this morning - think it's just weather related.

LBH, I am so sorry to hear about your Teddy! God, I sat & cried like a baby when my Golden passed away 6 summers ago. They do hold a special place in your heart. Chill, the Rainbow Bridge sounds just wonderful, thanks for that.

The heatwave continues today & I'm not thrilled but what can you do? I'm hoping to head south into Maryland with my daughter this afternoon with my daughter for a stroll thru Ikea

    More later,
    Lav

LBH - What an absolutely beautiful boy!

A true story was about a boy and his dog who were inseperable and when the dog got ill and had to be put to sleep his parents were so concerned about how the boy would react, the Vet had been pre-warned by them and he offered his kind condolences to the boy and said "its just such a pity that dogs dont live as long as us humans" the boy replied "yes but they learn lifes lessons so much quicker than we do so they dont have to stay here as long"

Beautiful pic ladybirdheart, he's a handsome creature.
I'm sorry for all of you struggling in the heat, I don't cope with the heat very well - but its not a problem to me at the moment cos its like November here!
I hope Sunday has been successful and pleasant for us all. I'll be off to bed soon - got lots of chores to do tomorrow - this old house needs a blinking good clean!
          See you on the morrow

            Hello all,
Sooty, you're breaking my heart, it feels like November? I'm on my way.
I spent the weekend in the mountains, hoping for cooler temps but it was still hot. It did briefly rain up there. Briefly and unfortunately 5 minutes after we had just sat down to a lovely dinner outside on the deck. Mad dash to move everything back inside.

Red/star, good to see you back. You sound well rested and so positive.

Chill, thanks for the boy and his dog story.

LBH, I'm thinking of you. Sent you an email.

Lav, Dill, stay cool. Rebirth, stay dry.

Jury duty tomorrow. I love the random meeting of people one gets to experience doing jury duty. Kind of like meeting someone on an airplane.

              Good morning all,

LBH That's a beautiful picture of Teddy. Hope you are okay today. Thinking of you...

Hi sooty, I know Kenilworth quite well. Its a very pretty village. I remember attending a medieval festival at the Kenilworth castle when I use to live and work in leamington Spa. This was about 6 years ago.
We may have bumped into each other once. lol

Weather in the uk is grey and miserable. Just like Sooty says , the temperature has dropped suddenly and it feels like november.

I discover a shopping mall that was selling american products such as CRISPIN DOUGHNUTS! Oh they are heavenly !! I bought 6 to last me a week. I ate three last night ( the cream filled ones are divine!!) and just devoured the rest this morning for breakfast.
Arnt you americans lucky to have them. They are so much nicer that the UK version.

Have a great sober monday all!

                July Jamboree ~ Week 3

                Good morning everyone

Weather has changed here too although the temperature has not dropped too much. I think I got sunburn/windburn on my face yesterday from standing in a field all day!! Main thing is it stayed dry until the show was over and I managed to get the horse box out of said field. I am towing with a car. We have only borrowed the pony so did not bother changing over to a 4 x 4. I have visions of being pulled out of a soggy field with a tractor. She came 2nd and 3rd in her classes so she was pleased.

This morning is wet and grey but plan to walk the doggies. Loved your photo of Teddy, LBH, thinking of you. Welcome back Sooty and Red. Hi Chill, Lav, Sped, Rusty, Rebirth and anyone else I missed. Catch you all later.

hi all, a quick pop in to say hello. LBH, so sorry about your dog, he looks beautiful, and chill i love the rainbow bridge story, thats one to remember... so sweet.
interesting point about not reading/watching the news. i do glance at the major stuff but as you guys say it can drag you down and theres nothing you can do about any of it. knowledge is good but too much negative information and idle gossip fills your head with nonsense that we can do without
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine

                    Good Morning Guys!

Rustop - Congrats to your daughter on her prizes I bet she is delighted!

Rebirth - How wonderful to be able to make jewellery! I would love to be artistic.

I had a lot of renovations on my house last year but the new roof still leaked last winter and the builders arrived today to assess the necessary repairs. It will be great to have it sorted but Im not looking forward to them being around with all the dust and mess....

I was at a BBQ on Saturday night and was the only non drinker although I have to say they werent by any means big drinkers there. My friend asked me yesterday did I not find it difficult and I realized that I hadnt spend one minute even thinking about it in these terms. I happily took along my bottle of iced tea and told the hostess when I arrived that I didnt drink so could she make sure I only got poured soft drinks. Its funny how if you flash back 6 months I would have been fretting over what to say as to why I dont drink and now Im actually proud of it! Same senarios, same me, different mindset!

Todays affirmation is EVERY MORNING I REMIND MYSELF THAT I CAN MAKE THE CHOICE TO FEEL GOOD, THIS IS A NEW HABIT FOR ME TO CULTIVATE. I loved this one! As we are all obviously good at cultivating "habits" lets try this one......

                      July Jamboree ~ Week 3

                      Good morning.

LBH, so sorry about your Teddy, it is hard to lose a beloved pet. I loved his picture, what a beautiful boy. Thanks for sharing your sorrow with us and letting us be there for you.

Chill, wow, the Rainbow Bridge story is just how I picture it for animals who go before us. It is amazing how much our pets love us. I also appreciated the sentiment that our pets learn life lessons more quickly then we do. You have really come a long way since the first of the year, AF and more and more confident with every day that goes by. The affirmations are so helpful, thanks for taking the time to share.

Dill, what is up? Please let us know what is going on. I am concerned about the writer's block and hope if you are struggling you will let us be around for you. I am reading a book by Cokie Roberts called Founding Mothers, and it is so interesting. Women had it really rough, no rights, constant pregnancy, limited medical care, and lots of housework. I love to read about how it used to be.

Spuddle, sooty, rebirth, your weather sounds awful. Afterall it is July. Is this common in your country? As you have heard, we in the States are having a heat wave, a really hot summer. But with air conditioning, it is bearable.

Well, back to work today, and I am trying to be positive. What what Chill's affirmation, I choose to feel good today, this is a habit to cultivate. I accomplished so much yesterday and ate right and of course was AF. I also went shopping and bought five pairs of summer shoes. I know, I went overboard, but they were all on sale and what can I say? I have problems with my feet and really needed to get comfortable shoes, and I did. I had not bought summer sandals for about three years, and on vacation, a pair fell apart. They were so nasty I would have been embarrassed to take them to be repaired. So, today I look forward to wearing a new pair.

To all, have a good day and make the choice to feel good, AF.

                        July Jamboree ~ Week 3

                        Good morning Jammers,
Still in my funk. I think it is because of the oppressive summer heat and humidity for one thing. It's also all the depressing news on TV. I think you are on to something, Chill, not listening. I have been listening too much. I am also wondering if it has anything to do with my stopping my SamE. I wanted to go without it at it is such an expensive supplement. I am going to give it some time and see. If I stay in this funk, I'll go back on it.
Thank you for your concern Red. I hope your return to work isn't too traumatic. I have heard of the Cokie Roberts book but have not read it. I like to learn about how it was to live during previous time periods too. I think that was one of the things I liked so much about the John Adams series when it was on HBO. It depicted the times so well. I'm going to the library today. I'll let you know what I get.
Chill, thank you for sharing the affirmation. I will live it today!
Rebirth, I've not heard of Crispin Doughnuts. We have a brand around here called Krispe Kreme that are to die for! I wonder if it's the same manufacturer?
Spud, good to see you! I think you have to find balance about listening to the news. I need to work on that.
Rustop, congrats to you and your daughter! Is your HB off fishing? What type of fishing is he doing?
Sped, let us know if you get picked for jury. Mr. Dill did it recently and found it quite interesting. His group found the defendant guilty, but he didn't feel good about it. He talked about it quite a bit.
Hello Rusty, Sooty, LBH, Lav. Lav, thanks again for the PM.
                        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

                          Hi Spuddleduck

Rustop61 what do you do for a living?

Star - I do the same. If they fit well then I usually buy more than one as I know I shall be wearing them to death.
Luckily the heatwave is coming back to the UK! Hurray!

I was at a BBQ on Saturday night and was the only non drinker although I have to say they werent by any means big drinkers there. Chill I was thinking the same thoughts on the weekend. I was in a pub saturday night. No cravings whatsoever for alcohol. Yesterday I had a heated arguement with my partner and not once did I think about going to the off licence to drown my sorrows.
It was only this morning that i realised this when I passed an off licence on the way to walk.

Good grief I am breaking old habits. Again that feeling of me doing the impossible. Ahhhhh its such as empowering feeling!

We crossed post. Just checked the box and it says crispin doughnuts Krispe Kreme . Must be the same maufacturer.
Oh they are too nice! I am so glad I can't get them easily.

LBH, your Teddy looks so much like a dog I had when I was a kid & his name was Teddy too :l

Getting sick of the heat around these parts this summer. Feeling pretty house bound actually. If I leave the AC for too long I start to melt..........
Sooty, enjoy that November-like weather. It has to be healthier in the long run.

Hello everyone, what a positive start to the week reading the posts on here.
Its quite nice today but heavy rain is forecast for later and thru tomorrow, so summer's not back just yet.
Dill I finished the peas yesterday - managed to get a couple of meals out of them, very tasty but not very prolific! Beans coming now and the courgettes are going mad with all this rain.
Mr S's birthday tomorrow so we're off out to a folk concert about 50 miles away - going by train, got everything crossed that it doesn't rain, it'll be horrid sitting in wet clothes!
Rebirth it was about 30 years ago that I was in Kenilworth but I can remember medieval events in the castle - and at Warwick as well.
Have a good day everyone - try and keep cool
