AF Daily - Monday July 26

    Hello,

Well I missed quite a bit of drama over the past few days. Papmom I LOVED the paragraph you wrote sounding like a soap opera. Hillarious!

DG so glad everything is back to normal. I really liked the way you listed the 5 things you and Mr. Doggy felt. It was a funny line of reasoning, but so true! Oh how our emotions can make irrational leaps.

Bear - I certainly took my time getting to the precarious state I am currently in. So I'm still too new to offer much advice. However, it seems to me you have not yet 'accepted' what you need to do. You are still playing at it. What will it take for you to make the decision that really you see yourself as a non-drinkier? I do mean this warmly.

Hi Uni, glad your women's group worked out. I actually think that without the male influence (sorry G!) women can do more to help each other. DG I know you have uncertainties with this but I'd say keep trying! Women can be so catty - I was in a chat a few weeks ago about personal growth and several women said they had the personal goal of not knocking other women down and being mean when something good happens to them, or if they seem like they have something good going on in their lives. Not knocking men, but I think for most women our behavior changes, subtly or not, when men are around.

Greenie - you silly billy queenie! I look forward to hearing what escapade you are up to today. I want some figs!

Mom3 - scuba? Ouch, makes my ears hurt just to think about it.

LV - sounds like your weekend was busy too.

Well I will be off and on for a while, although it seems like whenever I think I'll be off it turns out I have more time on!

More later as the clouds roll in.

    FAT FREE VEGAN BISCUIT WARNING!

Hi ho, hi ho.... it's off to walk I go!! Well, not yet, it's dark. But I have on the attire.

Thanks for the start gaia! I know you have a busy week ahead ~ you be sure to feed and hydrate yourself well, OK? :l

papmom, I've been trying to check the mileage and time for my drive to the park but my attention span doesn't hold on that long and by the time I get home I forget to look. I'm thinking it's about 10 minutes. You could do that on weekends though, right? Is the rail trail isolated? Why would you be afraid?

M3 when you did those scuba escapades (WOW!!) was that before your drinking career? I love to dive and remember scheduling it around drinking but diving certainly had the priority back then. Your driving and diving trips must have been fantastic! I'd love to see pics of that! Did you do any underwater photo? Blue hole in Belize?

    Wonder how leelou is doing.

Uni, how are you spending your days and how is your anxiety? I'm wondering if you experienced relief on some level lhaving reached a turning point.

Oh, today is 9 months (again )

Auntie, I wondered about the niece trip too... can you do some advance prep? Like specifically saying you won't be drinking? Maybe it would be helpful to review a plan? I think everybody here benefits from the practice.

bear, got your BGPs on? The titanium ones....

Thanks again for helping me uphold my boundaries, everyone. FH wanted to come over and take a bath. :H I barked into the phone so loudly I scared little doggie. :H Sheesh. I suggested the whirlpool at the gym.

I've got to get out there and pick figs before it's hot. Run the dishwasher for the jars? That's all the jar prep I need?

Oh and the blood drive! Gotta drink a load of water for that.

and quarterly tax reports.... I HAVE to do those.....

    One thing is for sure!!!!

Morning Gaia and all to come - bruised bum from roller derby ass kicking and MWO ass kicking - both needed and valuable.

Day off today - need to commit - get my plan in order this morning, later it's gym and sauna for this bear.

Have put on 2 pounds - booze and resultant junk food.
Planning meals/what to drop from social calendar/alternative activites.

Loved the poem ' hole in the sidewalk' - applies to so much in my life.
      Good day all to come.

        Happy Monday All,

Just back from working out...always makes the day easier when I start off with a good sweat.

Greenie, I was a daily drinker in my diving days but it got a lot worse as the years went on. It slowly creeps up on you and bites you in the ass. Never got to the blue hole in Belize. Both years I was in the area, there were storms and could not get out there. Are you interested in diving again? When and where did you dive? And, WTF is up with FH with wanting to take a bath at your house? Geez.

Gaia, I have not experienced the "caddy" thing in women much...guess I'm rather clueless in that regard. I do enjoy all women groups though.

Bear, I wouldn't worry about your weight too much. I can gain 2 lbs in one day (if I weight myself in the am and then in the pm).

          Hi guys,

Bear, keep on trucking girl - it's good that you have a plan - work it. Don't forget it. Sobriety is the most important thing - you do not want to end up with a charge like me. And it can happen at any time. I only drank 4 days in July - evidently it was 4 too many.

Greeny - I'm doing better. I am taking my medication as prescribed and am obviously having to do a lot of walking!! I am just incredibly hopeful that I will get into the program soon as I think it will be so valuable to me on so many ways.

But I am beginning to feel better - definitly more positive.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!
Every day is a day to start over and remember that I am powerless over my addiction. I will no longer give the BEAST any power over me - he can go straight to hell.

Hello and Happy Monday everyone. AF Day 8 here. Got to my niece's house. No wine here so that was probably good. thanks for the helpful hints last night DG. I do have some tart cherry juice which seems to help the craving. My niece knows my whole story and is very supportive of whatever I want to do. She is a sweetheart and more like a friend to me. I probably won't have time to look up any AA groups but think I'll be OK now, esp with checking in here. It feels so good to NOT be drinking a bottle of wine every night! And I know/hope that the liver is healing. Daughter hasn't stolen any more TP either! Ha Ha! My great nephew was so glad to see me and I got a big hug! It just makes life worthwhile. He is 18 mon. old and the most beautiful little boy you have ever seen.
Hope everyone has a great day and surviving the heat in the eastern US!
            Check with you all later,
            Auntie

                Good afternoon Abbers,

Had my daughter here this morning to take over the baby/dog sitting duties for a while. I had to leave the house at 9:30 am for an appointment. All went well! I figured this was good practice for her now that she's expecting her first child in February

Big thunder storms yesterday with a lot of rain, it did cool things off a bit. There was a tornado spotted 20 miles north of here - geez! Well, it's dry & sunny today.

Wishing everyone titanium BGPs (if needed) today
                Have a great day.

TBBP's for G!!! And TBGP's for the rest of us! Where's Deter been? He can have a pair of TBBP's too!

Good to read all the positive posts today! I've been zoom zoomin'. I stuck into the mall today and used one of those "make your own 20% off sale day" passes at Macy's. The shoe collection has grown. Have to have some funky ones to match the new do. I shouldn't have done that, but .....oh well. I've got 180 days to return them all. :H I have to wear a black skirt to the higly "official" Mary Kay events. So now I have one with faux leather trim. Funkadelic MK Lady.

I'm so very proud of ALL OF US for not drinking today! And maybe soberly, we can all learn or brush up on scuba diving. That would be a fun MWO trip!! SuperSoberScuba 2011. How 'bout it? Maybe Australia somewhere?

Have a fabbie evening one and all. Greenie, thank you for saying "no." Geez. He's a piece of work. Where did you find that one anyway? (I want to warn my single friends not to hunt in that spot!)

                        One thing is for sure...

I vote for the walking tour of the Cotswolds or the Peak District or Ireland instead of the scuba trip to Australia.
