      AF August - Week 3

      Hi Guys

Sped -:day4::bday3::bday2::bday7: Wishing you a wonderful day!

Rusty - Glad you are feeling rested (re any romance, absolutely not!) I wish I had a juicy story for the National Enquirer but as I rarely leave the house these days not much happens, I promise when I do, you will be the 1st to know

LBH - What a description you gave us of your poor kitchen, as a complete "neat freak" I felt stressed for you....

Star - "Be impeccable with your word" is such a great lesson, I often find myself about to say something or respond to someone and i stop and do a quick check to see if my word will serve any good or just contribute to more negativity.

Dill - Sorry yesterday was a gloomy day, it was probably a sense of trepidation about your return to work. I hope some rays of sunshine penetrate that cloud today, just imagine starting back at work with a hangover....

Papmom - Are you going away in Sept? Because I wont put my dear dog into kennels its always a wrench to go anywhere.

Im working through one of these "to-do" lists today filled with things i usually put off and the sense of satisfaction is tremendous. In view of the financial situ I dont have a car anymore and im borrowing an old jeep of my brother-in-laws which has broken air con and no working hand brake. My ex said he'd pay for the repairs if they werent much so today I took it to the garage and cycled back home. Fingers x'd it will be simple and cheap to repair but for now im grounded and am going to put it to good use....

      Have a great day everyone.

            Chill-

She means the two granddogs.(heh heh)] Chill-good luck with getting the car fixed. No A/C?! Ugh, I went through that this summer, too, with my car. I ended up getting heat stroke (and that was in May!) Be careful, Chill.

Dill-I know how anxious you feel about going back to work. I'll be with you in spirit. I have some trepidation about going back to work because I have to teach two classes and I'm dreading it because in the first class, I'm teaching two people who LOVE to try and prove me wrong on every point and they are disruptive. That's ok....I'll reel them in and I won't be hungover, so good thing.

Have a great AF day everyone!

Hello everyone, just a quick pop by to say hi and hope we're all doing ok. I have a little minute because I dropped granddaughter and daughter No1 at the pictures and daughter No2 is meeting them there and bringing them home after the film. I'm expecting them back soon and my peace will be shattered

We've had a fun few days but its been very tiring (and expensive) the house looks like a bomb has hit it and I'm not cleaning up until after I return from taking granddaughter home tomorrow!

Catch you all soon gang - keep safe and strong

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHELLEY! We are all glad today that you were born. It has been my understanding that when compared with individuals of similar education, socioeconomic status, etc. older individuals are actually happier than their younger counterparts as long as they are able to solve any pragmatic or logistical problems that arise. I am keeping that in mind. Chill, I am indeed also a neat freak, I was (affectionately) known as ?The Anal Sphincter? in my grad school laboratory:H; best of luck in fixing up your ?ride?, if you don?t live in the heart of a city, it is hard to be without a motorized vehicle of some sort; I like the emerging business of shared cars. Speaking of driving, Papmom, I did stay in the vehicle in question (at the time a 1954 Chevy pick-up) and the storm never came close enough to move us into new worlds and new civilizations. I love butterfly dogs by the way. Have a lovely day all, particularly Redstar and Dill who had the blues yesterday, don?t want to string too many of those days in a row. Lav, enjoy your grandson and those goofy dogs, and, Sooty, get some rest little buddy. Rusty, you just keep on shining. Hi to all who pass through. Love, Ladybird.
                  may we be well

                      AF August - Week 3

Hey everyone-quick note while I'm still on lunch.

Chill-the only thing I'm planning on doing besides ferry my dad back and forth from the hospital after cataract surgery is hopefully get down to the Cape (Cape Cod) to visit a dear friend for the day. I'm torn about the dogs. I definitely want to take DD so that he can run on the beach for the first time. Should I leave the other 2 at home and ask my neighbor to take care of them and the cats so that my friend will feel comfortable asking me to stay over OR do I take all 3 and stay at a fleabag motel for $40 and hopefully no pet deposit. Obviously it's easier to handle just one but I hate leaving them alone. Sigh-this is why I don't go anywhere overnite!!

LBH-you know about butterfly dogs!! that is so cool! I've been thinking of starting a Pet Thread where everyone posts pics of their pets. Mine are truely oversized and although cute as any pap bred by a breeder, their look is just a bit different.

OK, that's it, I'll check in tonite after my haircut.

LBH - my Sister calls me Monica from "Friends" I'm always plumping the cushions....
This goes way back to my childhood when I can remember as an 11 year old cleaning and vacuuming my bedroom, then sitting on a chair just admiring the neatness! A bit excessive I know :H

Papmom - I sympathize with the dog problem, when I go away my parents often fly over here to dogsit as it gives them a free vacation, my problem is when I just want to go away for a few days. I definitely stay home more because of my "baby" but she's worth it! I think a pet thread would be fun.

The handbrake on my car can be fixed very cheaply and will be ready tomorrow so I can cycle back to pick it up. Sadly the air con is not so easy :upset: the radiator has rotted and is beyond repair, a new one is 400 euros and there is no way i can pay it, the danger is without a radiator apparently the car could blow! Oh the challenges I am being given.... I'm not going to let it get me down, there is still much to be grateful for!

                          Oh LBH :H
The nickname :H I needed a good laugh!

The twins have only been here 4 hours & I'm ready to shoot one of them :upset:
They took her off Prozac because it was getting expensive. God, if I had known that I would have gladly paid to have the Rx refilled. I love dogs, especially Golden Retrievers. I've raised a few of them myself but this one is truly nuts!!! The other one is OK but he reacts to the crazy one I will be loading her up with Benadryl shortly so she calms down a little.

My son, DIL & grandson are visiting with her parents for a few days at the shore in NJ.
                          I'm jealous........really jealous!

Chill, I wish I could loan you my extra car for a while. Just had it inspected, 4 new tires put on. It's not fancy, just a great little car. Hope something works out for you

                          OK, back to crazyland........

                            AF August - Week 3

I am up really early, which I hate because I will be so tired later in the day. Yesterday was better, but after my upset on Monday, I was emotionally exhausted. I am so looking forward to the weekend. Can you tell I am just burnt out? I was better after my vacation, but now, after the road trip, the moving in of my son, and the work issues, I am just at the end of my rope. I had a talk with my boss yesterday as their are changes at work, no one knows what they are doing, and everything is a mess. He was nice about it, and I hated to complain, but due to the added paperwork, another pay cut for me. I was impressed by Chill, and want to look into a different field too. I love computers and web sites, I wonder if there is a certification I can earn or something. I want to work in a new field. Any ideas?

Rusty and Dill, it is always hard to go back to work after time off. Good luck, you will get used to it.

Chill, no car? Ouch. You are right, any car is better than no car. I am currently driving a big old truck and get a kick out of it. Love your positive attitude and looking at the humor and optimistic side.

Sped, Happy Birthday! Hope you did something fun. I too read that as we get older we tend to be more content. I think it is because we are wiser, tend to know what matters, what is worth addressing and what is worth leaving alone. In other words, we don't take things as personally. Each decade of life has its blessings. How are you with turning 60? I turned 50 this year and feel OK with it. Really want to live my life with integrity, to have no regrets, especially regarding alcohol.

Yesterday at lunch, I went off by myself. Ate some fast food and went to a park. It was a beautiful day, and I let nature, the gentle breeze, sounds of insects, sunlight, fresh smells help me to calm down and feel better. It was a good idea. So, if anyone gets a chance today, spend some time outside, it really helps.

                              Good Morning Star,

I have been up since 3:15 a.m. So sorry to hear about your pay cut! That really must bite. Why don't you try a new career where you work from home? I have worked out of my house for the last 12 years and there's no way I'd want to go back to an office situation with a boss breathing down my neck every day. There must be online courses where you can earn a web certification.

Must run now, have a good day!

                                Happy Humpback day guys

Rusty you have some energy girl! You are an inspiration....

Red - So sorry about the pay cut, maybe it is time for you to look at other things and it may be a blessing in disguise. If my idea takes off maybe we can be partners, the beauty of the internet is you can work anywhere in the world!

I spent hours yesterday re-writing a website for a restaurant, im doing it for free as I need to get some experience. I still have no idea how I can possibly make a living at this or how I can find the business but Im just going to take it ODAT (see I learned something useful from AL ) What is true is that I would only need to get 3 or 4 a week to make up the shortfall in my living costs so its not unsurmountable. I use to write the script unofficially for special deals at a big hotel resort here where my boyfriend worked (he was Dutch so needed someone to write it in English for him) I loved doing this and if I could get work doing this too it would be great! As I say I have no idea how to go about it all but my friend will design me a website and at least I can then direct people there.

The car needing repaired was another blow I could have done without but I actually just threw up my hands and laughed :H I cant do anything to change it so for now i will accept it....

Have a great day everyone :l
