    September Serenity - Week 1

    Hi y'all,

Thankyou Sooty, it's a pleasure to be here too. Somehow, there is a different vibe on this thread to elsewhere on the board's. It does actually feel serene, which is obviously the particular mix of folk's here, but from a bloke off the street's viewpoint, there is some sort of positive, gentle energy flowing here. Maybe it's just me.....a good thing regardless.

Ah RB, no hottie here. Just a bloke doing his best.
Getting more time to make music from now on Lav, so will keep you posted my friend. I'll need someone to re-string my guitar's when i tour Europe next. Are you free?
G'day PAguy, nooo, not an awesome musician really, but i'd love for you to hear some of my stuff. It's nothing flash, just my humble little song's i make at home. I just need to make time to work out how to post some tunes on the music thread's here, or set up link's etc. (i can only email them to folk's at the mo', which understandably many would not be comfortable with) So will let you know.

Chilli, wow! Them clairvoyant's sure know somethin'. Australia? Would love to show you around Melbourne town sometime!

Have a safe, sober, magical, and serene weekend everyone.

G., I didn?t know if you were just passing through this thread and I am so glad you like it. Please stay; it has been going on for over a year. You too PA, did you say something a couple of days ago about a surgery and six week recovery? If so you must be here, we have nurses and loving kindness and hopefully a guitar player. If not, you probably think I am a blooming idiot right now. Love, Ladybird.
        may we be well

What an ordeal PA. While G. thinks he needs a nurse (or two) himself, I have a feeling he is malingering, and he should be able to provide you with soulful songs for your recovery. Preparing for surgery is so odd, that ?surgery feeling?, so stay close and personal, you will get your sweet life back. Love, Ladybird.

                        Good morning all!

LBH- Catnip!! Good idea! Didnt think of that. Is it a plant? Where do you get it? How do you put it on the post? Oh I am glad you are a tabby fan. I think they are gorgeous.

Paguy- Thats my little boy in the picture. He is the spitting image of me. Arnt you lucky that you got two virtual nurses on call! I hope they can conjure up a mean bowl of chicken soup when you are resting.

Lav- where do you live? I thought you lived in the US for some odd reason. I am okay with the relationship department but maybe I ought to try the overeating course...will have a look later.

Guitarista -You are a music man! Lets hear a song!! Load it up please.

WE WANT A SONG WE WANT A SONG WE WANT A SONG!

Have a lovely saturday all. I am off to Cadbury's world for a chocolate tour.Yummy!!

                          Good Morning Guys!

Star - Im thinking about you and wishing you a wonderful wedding, looking forward to hearing all about it.

Rebirth - Your Son is absolutely beautiful! Have a lovely time at Cadbury World.

Mr G - I love that this thread has an air of serenity! I have to say its a special place for me and somehow feels separate to the rest of MWO, I sometimes forget everyone else can read it. I hope you and Paguy drop in regularly. I wish one day to take you up on your offer to show me Melbourne. Im a dreamer and was already googling round the world airfares yesterday!

Paguy - With virtual nurses as well as real ones you are in for a speedy recovery from your op :l

I woke up this morning with a strong sense I needed to read from the Tao and opened it at random, here is a passage from the page.... Improve your vision by looking beyond what your eyes can see. Every tree and plant is dancing, those which average eyes would see as still. See the unfolding of God in everything and everyone you encounter.... This is what I shall practice today.

                            Good Morning September Serenity Sojourners,

Rebirth-your son is absolutely gorgeous-lots of broken hearts when he grows up Cookie is so cute and she looks so happy to be sleeping on such a soft blanket.

Star-Enjoy the wedding and I am anxious to hear all about it.

Mr.G-some ladies here at MWO would like to know how old you are. Care to share...or is that too personal of a question?

Paguy-The nurses here on this thread will help you with your recovery and I'll send you lots of PMs so you won't get bored.

Chill-that clairvoyant was so right about things-looks positive, though.

Lav-are you getting anxious for the baby chicks to arrive?

Well, I came down with a horrendous cold so I am recuperating. I have been feeling miserable so I forgot to mention that Thursday night I got a call from a good friend of mine who is a heavy drinker. When my drinking was at its worst, we'd go out and really tie one on....haven't done that with him in a couple of years. Anyway, he was very drunk when he called and he was just obnoxious. Now I can see with a clear head how quickly alcohol can become so problematic in one's life. We worked together last year and I was the Lead person and he was my team member. I went to the bar with him and had 1 glass of wine and went up to my room as I was exhausted. He proceeded to stay out until 5 in the morning and then was too hungover to go to work. I had to put in a 12-hour day to cover for him and I lied to our client.....telling the client he had gotten food poisoning. He asked me when we were going to work together again and I told him I didn't know because I didn't trust him. Well, he wasn't very happy about my answer, but, I have to protect myself. SIGH.

Well, I'm off to the gym. Have a wonderful day everybody!

                              Good Morning Serenity Soulmates!!

Very cool windy morning here in Central New England. Earl turned out to be a dud for the most part. If my area even got 1/2 inch of rain I would be surprised. Not complaining tho esp. since the cold front is here!!

Chill-awesome talent that clairvoyant has!! How do you go about choosing a reputable one? Just a thought: do people who are totally satisfied with their lives ever use these types of services? I was thinking about that yesterday and wondering if anyone is ever totally satisfied?

Star-I hope your wedding festivities today go off without a hitch and that the weather cooperates. may your son(?) live happily ever after!

RB-your son is just too too cute!! Definite heartbreaker material!! as far as the cat goes, well, he's a cat!! Nothing better (even dogs!!) as far as I'm concerned. I've had 2 tabbies in my life and they are the best. You can buy catnip at any pet store, you can even buy it in pots that you grow on the window sill. The best form to use however for a scratching post is the spray kind. Just spray it on and watch him go crazy!! To discourage scratching the couch, there are sticky strips you can buy as well to put on the one spot she has chosen as her favorite. Or, you can get a spray called Bitter Apple and spray it on. I haven't found it as effective as the sticky strips. Just go down to your local pet supply store and ask the clerks about the different options. As a last resort, your vet can put on nail coverings for you(once you learn how you can do it yourself). I"ve never had to use those as my cats learned early what scratching posts were for (even the one I adopted at 5 yo). Good luck and PM me with any questions you have about raising Cookie!!

Rusty-you poor thing! It must have been so hard to tell your "friend" you don't trust him anymore. but you have to put your sobriety and job first. and you get a nasty cold for your efforts!! Not fair at all!!

LBH-what can I say? I just love your postings!!

Lav-enjoyiing the cool weather I bet! Cheep cheep Cheep!!! :chick:

PAGuy-I think you are all set in the virtual nursing area!! You've got a whole crew of us to help you through these next 6 weeks!!

Welcome G to the Serenity thread!! I always enjoy hearing from you and your magical outlook to life!!

Hi Cyn and anyone else I missed.

Busy day today in prep for my 2 daytrips this weekend. My new phone takes awesome video so I hope to post one of the sheepherding trials tomorrow morning. I know I know, you'll all shaking in anticipation!!

It may be cool out but my office is still an oven so time to take a breather and feed the dogs!!

                              :butterfly:

                                September Serenity - Week 1

                                Good Morning!

It is a beautiful morning here ? Hurricane Earl has passed the mid-atlantic states and we are going to have a crisp clear day with temps in the 70?s ? Yeah!

Star ? I hope you are having beautiful weather today wherever you are for the wedding. We are all looking forward to the details of the day!

Rusty ? What can I say but summer colds suck! Hope you have a speedy recovery. Maybe that workout at the gym will knock off some of those rhinoviruses! Hey ? I look forward to the PMs while I am recovering

Chill ? Your reading from the Tao is a good reminder for me to look beyond the face value of things. Actually, I find myself doing more of this since I stopped drinking AL. I seem to have so much more time and to be more connected with my surroundings and relationships. What an awakening I am experiencing!

Lav ? Keep those baby chicks away from the honking geese that are hanging out on another thread :H

Well, I have a pretty full weekend planned so I am glad I woke up in a good mood with a strong positive spirit and beautiful weather to boot!

I live in a 2-story house with all of the bedrooms on the 2nd floor so when I come home from the hospital on Tuesday, I am planning on hopping upstairs (my leg will be in a cast and I?ll have crutches) and being on the 2nd floor for 2 weeks. So, today I am working on making sure all the logistics of upstairs are in order. I?m getting a cooler to store drinks and food, a small microwave oven for the bedroom, and a larger flat screen TV for my viewing pleasure. Hope I don?t sound too self-absorbed but I?ve never been confined to bed for 2 weeks before and the thought of it is just mind-boggling. The orders are to only get out of bed to use the bathroom and to eat. I had ?crutches training? on Thursday and today I have to practice going up a flight of 13 stairs using the crutches and pretending my leg is in a cast. Wish me luck!!

Oh, yeah ? yesterday, I had to buy a raised seat with arm handles for the toilet. I was mortified that I was buying this for myself!!!

I?ll also be making a run to Barnes and Noble to stock up on reading materials. I got some good suggestions from some folks here on MWO.

So, that is going to be my day ? Greetings to all of you here and those that follow today. Hope all of you have a beautiful AF Saturday.
