    September Serenity - Week 1

    Hi Everyone!

Lav-yes we dodged the Earl bullet. I'm in Central MA so we weren't going to be hit that bad anyway.

Dill-yes, I've used the Virtual Catalog and it's fabulous!!

LBH-I sure hope you'll be able to weather all these expenses!! Jeesh, when it rains it pours doesn't it? and No, I haven't found a job to replace the PT one I have. Haven't really had time to look to tell the truth. Sigh.

Chill-great pics! Thank you for sharing a bit of your world!!

Rusty-so glad you're feeling better! Hope the jacuzzi soak was fabulous!!

HI G, Rustop, Sped and anyone else who stopped by!! Time to get the boyz settled in and maybe watch Legally Blonde 2. I'll probably fall asleep in the middle of it tho!!

    Nite Nite!!:butterfly:

      September Serenity - Week 1

      Good Evening Everyone:

I, for one, am feeling very grateful for having such a great group of virtual friends here, providing encouraging words and support as I prepare for this coming week. Thank you all so much for your kindness ? it means more to me than you know.

LBH ? It?s funny you mentioned the ?camping? analogy as I had similar thoughts earlier today when I was stocking my little refrigerator with water and mineral drinks, setting up my one-cup coffee maker, and geez, I treated myself to a new flat screen TV. (Ok, I guess the TV doesn?t qualify for a camping trip!)

PAP ? I never think of trying the library. People I work with are always talking about what they get from the library ? it?s amazing. I need to pay more attention to that as another resource. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sped and G ? I am very frustrated that my running shoes are on the sidelines right now. I had originally planned to run 3 different half-marathon races between August and November. Obviously, I?ve had to cancel those races. I think my next race at this point will be a half-marathon in Sarasota, FL next March, unless something else interesting presents itself sooner. Best of luck to you with your races!

Rusty ? I could really relate to how you described how you used to loath Sundays. I had the exact same feelings. I recently remarked, however, that since I?ve been AF, I no longer dread Sundays! The weekends seem so much longer, productive and enjoyable. I actually don?t resent waking up on Monday mornings since I feel like I actually had a weekend!

Chill ? I love figs but have never tried sun drying them ? I need to give that a try.

Dill ? Yes, I am very thankful to be going through this ordeal AF. I mentioned in a previous post that in my previous life, I would be drinking up a storm right now to ?deal? with the situation. I have to admit that I am dealing with it just fine WITHOUT the AL!

To everyone else?. Hope you are having a peaceful and serene Saturday!

        September Serenity - Week 1

Hello serene ones - how interesting that everyone's lives seem to have plenty of roller coaster events going on, yet the air of serenity still pervades....

Earlier I had written half a post, and then my step-daughter dropped by to pick up dog supplies, (she adopted a rescue today). When I came back to the computer -- gone! Similarly gone from my brain is everything I was going to write about...I seem to be having a bad case of 'teflon brain'....things slip away without leaving a trace. Ah well!

I do remember vibrating to Dill's comment on how connected we are on this thread; I have spent the day wondering about Red's daughter's wedding - Lav, thinking about your impending chicks - Chill, seeing you in your late-summer landscape walking your dog - Sped excited, previewing the hotel, and Sooty on the cliffs. A bit like thinking about characters in a book that I've finished....but so much better since I can check in and catch up! What home.

Rusty, glad to hear that you're feeling better. Lav - the apple challah sounds divine. Sped - say hello to 8,000 feet for me (with 110 temps today, I could use a mountain breeze). LBH - what a shocking downpour of fiscal hailstones, good luck finding your path through all of this. I myself have been rocked on my pins a bit by meeting with realtors and being advised to up the date on putting our home on the market - in a month! Now, we live a pretty tidy life, but getting a house ready to show in a month!? So today has been spent trying to figure out budgets, likely upgrades, timetables, etc. etc. Dollar signs seem to have sprouted wings and can be seen flying around the house just out of reach. Thank goodness for an AF perspective.

PA - best of luck on the surgery, glad to have you here. PapM - hope your agility went well today - I absolutely understand the thrill, am a novice, but love to work my two weimys. If only I were a better handler! Gman, we await the music. Rustop, keep writing about your daughter - my close encounter with riding last May has left me hungry for more, and I have turned into a 12 year old girl when it comes to those fabulous creatures. Chill - oddly enough, the watchwords for my riding lessons were 'Balance' and 'Breathe' (especially lovely when spoken with an Italian accent).

        Happy Saturday night/Sunday morn, all.

          Happy Serene Sunday to all

So far mine has been lovely, woke early and had a lovely walk with my dog by a beautiful nearby lake. Home for a quick swim and then coffee and a bagel on the terrace....
A dear male friend of mine is treating me to lunch at my favorite beach restaurant and the weather is simply stunning.

There is much to sort out in my life and in my head but right now, right today everything is perfect and i intend to enjoy every moment. September is our last guaranteed month of summer weather and that makes it more precious so I want to savour each day.

Sped - you sound in better spirits, I had no idea you too were a nurse! We are certainly in great hand on this thread. How far was the run today?

I will check in again later.... sending you all much love
          Chill

Cyn-I didn't know you do agility too! What fun! We'll have to commiserate on our handling skills together :H!! That's the ironic thing, my dog is awesome and for the most part seems to know exactly what to do even if I don't! I do have to work on positioning him and me at the start line, esp with leadouts as he tends to run around the first jump to get to where I am. No agility today, it's next weekend and the weekend after. Today I'm going to a sheepherding trial with a friend and the weather is absolutely gorgeous for it! I actually have a sweatshirt on!! I'll check in later on my new phone (samsung Intercept-true android touch and it's fab!!)!!

Spiritual progress is the law of your being. Try to see around you
more and more of beauty and truth, knowledge and power. Today try
to be stronger, braver, more loving as a result of what you did
yesterday. This law of spiritual progress gives meaning and purpose to
your life. Always expect better things ahead. You can accomplish much
good through the strength of God's spirit in you. Never be too
discouraged. The world is sure to get better, in spite of setbacks of war,
hate, and greed. Be part of the cure of the world's ills, rather than part
                of the disease.
                Recovery Readings

We have talked before on this thread about how dreadful the news is to listen to today. Yet many of us feel compelled to watch and to know even though it is hard on our spirit. This meditation was a positive message and one that restores my hope.

It is a beautiful, peaceful Sunday morning here in Ohio. This time of year you can daily watch nature preparing for the long sleep of winter. Even sounds are receding. The cicadas are ebbing and on cold nights like last night, the crickets chirped much more quietly. No bird song in the morning. The sunlight is somehow more golden.

                Peace and strength to all.
                Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

                    GM friends,

Having a lazy morning myself here, no rush to get going
I really enjoyed that cool weather last night Dill.

I spent last evening catching up on my teleseminars. The speakers are really good, their messages help strengthen my resolve to remain peaceful & that everything is OK.

My DIL & EB grandson will be here later for dinner. Think I'll take advantage of this nice weather & set us up to eat outside. EB has developed a habit of throwing food lately......just a phase I hope!!
Mr Lav is returning to finish some repairs on the coop. I will ask him to stay for dinner but he will probably refuse as usual. That's OK too.

Wishing everyone a great Sunday, I'll be back.

                      September Serenity - Week 1

                      Hi My Serenity Friends,

I really have been in Gratitude Mode, and I really owe it to the people on this thread. Today, I woke up especially happy and at peace, in line with our Serenity focus, and although I was a professional writer for many years, now I just write for fun. You all here have been key to my change in attitude, focus, sobriety and life, and for that, I have written a poem for all of you.:h

Friends like you are hard to find,

The finest to have when I need to unwind,

A compassionate ear or sage advice,

Your wisdom comes back to me as twice,

In life?s chaotic journey, you?re always ready

Your knowledge and hope keep me steady

Well, Mr Lav was here to finish coop project. He asked if he could come back for dinner so I didn't even have a chance to extend an invitation, hmmm - something's definitely different in the air!

                            So far so good today.

                              September Serenity - Week 1

Dill - thanks for the reading, I havent actively watched the news or read a newspaper in 5 years although I always hear about anything important either from people speaking about it or from facebook or here. Like the earthquake in NZ i heard it here 1st. This means Im still aware of whats going on but miss all the bombardment of negative news about events that dont affect me or serve me to know about. Watching the news especially in the evening sends our subconscious to bed with very negative images and has been proven to affect our moods, our wellbeing and levels of stress. They estimate that by the time a child is 7 years old he has seen or heard of 5000 violent crimes or murders from TV, how can this serve our society?!

Sorry I will get off my :soapbox: now! :H

Lav - Mr Lav's behaviour is intriguing, its as if since you have adopted your zen mentality and stopped being angry it has reflected onto him, we are all suposed to be mirrors for each other and this is fascinating me.

Im a great believer is collective consciousness and Im wondering about the power behind this thread. Everyone seems to be sensing the energy it generates out to us all and in recent times many of us have had big challenges to deal with. Some weeks we all seemed to be on a downer and then very quickly we turn it around. I actually feel very happy despite my current situation and being able to vent here has been a great source of comfort. Could it be that our collective positively is reducing what the normal time frame would be of feeling low? Just a thought......
