    September Serenity - Week 2

Happy Sunday, all. Rusty - what great news about Mr Prez, sounds like a nice time with a worthy person. Please greet the autumn in WI for me. Last year at this time, I was visiting a friend just outside of Madison (who was laid up with sciatica), and happily helped with the chickens, picked vegies, set up canning, moved a small tree, hung out the wash, etc. It was bliss for this unlikely desert city dweller.

Mr PA - sorry about the pain. Sounds like Nurse Lav has the answer. Aren't pets just the best medecine? Always there, patient, understanding and loving. Massage sounds like just the ticket...

Lav - glad to hear the news about Mr MIA. Take care of yourself with the yard sale work...it can be exhausting. RE: my friends. We are trading text messages, that's all we need to do right now to stay connected...they know we are here for them, and I'm grateful for that. I'd wish I could be like PA's westie - just close, and offering a little hand-lick once in a while!

REbirth - what an interesting life you have had in your young years! The High Holidays in Israel? Wow - I would love to see a real Sukkot (Harvest festival, everybody). About celebrating holidays - I'm not one for organized religions, but I love spirituality and ritual, so HB goes to the services and I cook and get the candles ready. Same thing for Christmas, etc. - I'm working on my knitted Xmas stockings right now for the new members of the family. (not sure what's spiritual about that, but the knitting helps me...)
ANYWAY - wishing all a serene sunday ---
    to the light

      Cyntree,

Madison is a very popular place. I lived there for 2 years when I was a radio newswoman. Small world, isn't it? Do you live in Santa Fe?

Happy Serene Sunday everyone!! busy for everyone I see!

Rusty-a date!! How very cool! Hope you have a lot of fun and that he is as nice as he sounds!!

John-yep that happens. I agree with Lav-the ibuprofen should do the trick so you can stop the percs as soon as possible. Hope you find your masseuse!! Glad lil doggie is being such a great "wet" nurse!! Sorry folks, couldn't resist that one. Hope no one was offended-just a play on words!!

Cyn-I'm so sorry about your friend. What a devestating bit of news. I pray you will all get through this sad time with dignity and grace. Your friends are lucky to have you in their lives.

Yes Lav, new pics of the chicks would be most welcome!! Hope Mr. Lav was true to his word and got the tool sorting done.

Star-Wishing you and your son the best of luck. He's lucky to have you for a mom and I hope he knows it!!

this weekend was devoted to agility for me and it was lots of fun. We did quite well, even getting a Q today and 4 placements total, 3 of them 1st. Great bunch of people, a very laid back atmosphere and lots of opportunities to do a bunch of different volunteer jobs so that I now can do any volunteer job asked of me. The judge was great too, taking advantage of teachable moments. I'll definitely keep entering these trials as long as they are in the area. MUST MUST MUST find more sources of income tho!! This is a VERY expensive sport. I was actually talking to a fellow competitor about her Roadtrek she has for sale and thinking seriously of buying it!! Ok, that lasted about 30 sec as I couldn't hope to finance $30K in a million years but oh, what a dream!!
Here is a video that was shot yesterday-didn't Q but placed 2nd so we didn't DQ either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joY_qcJfIzs[/video]]YouTube - Pam and Koby
Just spending the rest of the day doing much needed laundry and job hunting. Not looking forward to work tomorrow but it pays the bills (just barely). Speaking of bills, my car has suffered it's first "injury" today and I'm really really hoping the dealer I got it from will honor the 60 day warranty even tho it's one day expired. I'll find out tomorrow when I call him. Fingers crossed.

Hi to Chill, Rustop, RB, Mr. G and anyone else who pops in today. have a great rest of the Sunday!!

Late check in from me today, I hope everyone had a very serene Sunday

Papmom - Is that you and your dog in the video? I wasnt sure from your post. What an absolutely beautiful dog! Much bigger that the papillions I have known. I like you am frustrated by my inability to earn some extra income and if im honest im currently burying my head in the sand hoping the problem will go away.

Paguy - Arent dogs just the most wonderful companions!

Rusty - This guy sounds utterly fantastic! Does he live in your town? Could you see a romantic liason? I want details....

Cyn - How your words touched me....

I know exactly what you mean about looking life in the face, sometimes doing this literally paralyses me.

I have had the most perfect Sunday! I was up early and joined my cycle group for a 4 hour cycle, it was devine! Passed through stunning countryside and villages, stopping for a snack lunch halfway. Lovely company and exercising in the heat has left me with that wonderful achy feeling throughout my body when you know you have challenged yourself. I have had a long hot shower and will be ready for bed early. This to me is bliss and if ever I needed a reminder why I dont want to be out partying on a Saturday night, this is it!

Hi Chill-yep that's me and DD!! yes, he is a large pap, we like to call them papzillas!! All mine are larger than what you usually see: 19lbs, 18lbs, and 10 lbs. they are all 3 rescues and I really like their sizes. I don't feel so nervous when out walking as they don't look like prey as much to the bigger dogs (although an attack could still happen so I am very watchful). DD probably has some Border Collie in him but I'm not going to get him tested as I really don't care. He's beautiful no matter what breed he is!!

Papmom - my baby is a typical Portuguese mutt but when asked I say she is a Belgravian Pinscher, no one dares to Q me or say there is no such breed of course there is! She is the only one of her kind :H

                Greeting's folk's!

Belgravian Pinscher eh? I think i recall a pic of your dog somewhere Chilli. She's a beauty to be sure, and reminded me a bit of an Aussie cattle dog. Plenty of character, and haven't they all!

How was your 5 mile run Rusty? Make sure that fella has you home by midnight!

The realness and gravity of life can be overwhelming at times, i wonder sometimes if i actually grasp it all?

You're probably all snoozing away, so sweet dreams everyone, and a safe, sober, and magical week to everyone. Hope your friend's comfortable Cyn.

                  September Serenity - Week 2

                  Evening check in.....

Rusty, I loved Eat, Pray, Love, actually liked the movie more than the book. That has never happened to me before. I loved the location scenery, Italy, India, and Bali. The story itself was more clear to me in the movie than in the book. It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I appreciate your concern about my son, especially with your friend's experience. My son is higher functioning by far and is quirky and has a great sense of humor. He has been really helpful around the house and has a better attitude than a few years ago. So, it could definitely be worse and in the past has been worse. I am counting my blessings. Have fun on your date, I was thinking we never know what to expect, good things can happen out of the blue.

Lav, hope you make some money for all your efforts, but sales can be fun, too.

Paguy, sorry you had a painful day. Hope the meds work.

Chill, a four hour bike ride, you are awesome. It was lovely here in the States too. I love this time of year. It is great to be AF and to appreciate the fine weather. I had my house open and gardened for a bit. Enjoyed myself, like you.

Pap, thanks for your kind words.

Cyn, love how you share the holiday stuff, I am going to think about how I can apply some of that to my life.

After a pretty wonderful weekend, AF, I am thankfully going to relax and have a good night's rest. Wishing you all peace tonight.

                    September Serenity - Week 2

                    Good morning everyone

Did not get near a computer yesterday, it was one of those days, all go but in a good way. I like my weekly routine better, nice walk with friends and doggies, coffee and MWO when I get back. It sounds like you all had a nice week-end.

Chill - No wonder you moved to Portugal. Your lifestyle sounds idealic. I would much prefer a 4 mile cycle in nice weather than chauffering teens for 4 miles which is what I spent most of yesterday doing.

Star - Thanks for mentioning that book, I must get it. Hope everything works out with your son.

Lav - Did you have your yard sale? You mentioned butterflies, we seem to have a lot of them this year, probably because we had a better summer than normal.

Rusty - Did you go for your run? You will have to keep us updated on the dating front!!

Paguy - hope you are feeling a bit better today. I plan to get a westie next. We have a Jack Russell and a Goldie at the moment.

Cyn - Sorry about your friend, all you can do is be there for her.

Papmom - thanks for posting the u-tube on the agility, very impressive.

Sped - I am also a list person. I am always making them, partly because I would forget things without them but there is a great sense of satisfaction when you cross things off.

Dill, LBH, Sooty, Rebirth, Guitarista and anyone else I missed big hello and have a great week.

A happy serene Monday to you all

Mr G here is my Belgravian Aussie Cattle Pinscher

Star - I loved the book and look forward to seeing the movie

I would love to hear any feed back on what anyone thinks about the following link, I have been toying with buying the package on offer which seems too good to be true at only about $40 but Im concerned its a scam and once you buy it you find its only a trial and therefore have to then spend X. Im also a bit suspicious as no where does it say where the work is suposed to be generated from.... any thoughts?

                        Hi Folk's,

She's beautiful Chilli, definately a Belgravian/Aussie cattle/Pinscher cross. I reckon she might even have a bit of dingo in there too.

I don't know much about on line work, but i do know that you'd may need to give your banking details out to them, if they pay you themselves, etc....and this is where a few folk have been fleeced, so be careful. I think One 2 many used to work from home online, so she might have some thought's?

Take care, and hope you're well.

                          September Serenity - Week 2

Hi Chill-i've been on many similar sites and I know there is a catch in there somewhere I just don't have the time to really dig deep and find it. One thing that popped out at me is that this is a "how to" kit and does't give you any really links to real jobs-you have to go find them. The advice he gives is most likely available for free on the net or in the library. I just signed up for Odesk.com. found it on a lark. It's free and there are these cool (but sometimes wierd) tests you can take to beef up your profile. It cost nothing so it's only a waste of time if it doesn't work out. Elance.com which I told you about before seems really complicated and competitive to me. I haven't checked out freelance.com: independent professional: freelancers: freelance: independent contractor: guru: independent: solo: freelancer: jobs: job: it jobs: work: high tech jobs yet. These sights actually have job postings that you bid on. the beefier your profile the better but if you charge less than everyone else a beginner can get their foot in the door. I'll let you know if I have any success but in the meantime it wouldn't hurt for you to sign up for one or two of these sites. Stay away from "kits". JMHO.
Love your doggie!! he's very regal looking!!

                                September Serenity - Week 2

                                Good Morning Everyone:

Chill - based on my own experience, I would NOT subscribe to the Make Money Online scheme. As Papmom already indicated, most of these websites are schemes and have ongoing financial commitment hidden in the fine details of their agreements. I learned the hard way and had to make threatening phone calls to have charges removed from my credit card. My best advice to you is anything that sounds too could to be true probably is not true. Many of these work at home programs are based on placing GoogleAds on websites. You can find out more about this by searching AdSense or GoogleAds. An interesting FREE site that enables you to create web pages on your favorite topics is
Squidoo : Welcome to Squidoo. The concept is you create the content and they place the appropriate ads on your webpages. You may want to check it out.

BTW - your dog is a real beauty!

I am feeling much better this morning. A wee bit groggy from the meds I took yesterday but today I am limiting my intake to Motrin for the pain – thanks for the good advice, Nurse Lav!

I have not been watching much television but I do think I will take in Oprah today as it is the first show of her last season. Looks like John Travolta is her guest and I really like him.

I think I’ll have my modest breakfast of a yogurt and granola bar to get things started today.

Hope you all have a fantastic Monday!
