September Serenity - Week 2

Hey John!! I am so jealous you get to watch Oprah's first show of her last season!! If I knew how to work the *&%F$ DVD player I would have taped it. Can you tape it then post it on You Tube? I wonder of that would be illegal? Oh buggers, i HATE being gainfully employed somedays :H. Of course how sad is it that I want to watch TV more than work??

Chill-you should check out some of the places you can go to with your dog and you might be able to satisfy that wanderlust!! In the US we actually have camps for dogs and their people!! Bit on the expensive side tho but I dream about going to one. We also have a couple of websites that list hotels, parks, cities ect that are very dog friendly.

Lav-I do not envy you the yard sale clean out and yet I know I have to have a major clean out myself. Hopefully I'll make a dent next week when I am off.

Rusty-have a great trip to Ontario and congrats on the weight loss!! You too Soots!!

Hey to Spedteach, Dill, RB, and anyone else that pops in for a dose of serenity. And yes, I think we're supposed to be on week 3.

September Serenity - Week 2

Good Evening from Canada, Dear Ones!

Well, the weather is beautiful here! Sped, PA, and G, you would love Windsor. They have beautiful parks along the waterfront (the Detroit River separates Detroit, MI from Windsor, Ontario) and they actually have KM markings so you can see how far you've run. Did not run today. Too exhausted to even move after getting up at silly o'clock this morning (as Jackie Claire on the Army Thread says) to catch my flight.

Lav-glad the chicklets are doing well. Actually the tip was for how to display jewelry, not tips on how to sell it. I learn so much from Hints from Heloise.

Chill-well, I hope this date turns out to be romantic. He did try to kiss me last Friday night but I wouldn't let him. Too soon! Details: He started this company 20 years ago. He is 57, divorced with 2 kids, and likes some of the same things I do: boating, exercising, animals. I think you'd be a great Virtual Assistant....and beautiful, too. Be sure to post your picture!

Rebirth....Congratulations on 101 AF DAYS!!!roud: You own a jewelry shop? Oh, I would be broke. LOVE jewels!

John-how are you feeling? Glad the Motrin works....thanks to our Virtual Nurses, Lav and Pap.

G-urm, home by midnight? How about 10:00 p.m? I have to drive myself home, G....midnight's too late, so don't worry about me. I'll be home early and AF. Besides, I already told him I have a cyber crush on a 51-year-old guitar strumming Aussie who runs!:H

Papmom-how are you doing?

Cyntree-where are you?

Hi to Dill, Sooty, Rustop, Sped, Ladybird, Star, and anyone I may have missed.....I miss you guys!:l

September Serenity - Week 2

Hi Folk's,

Sweet dream's Chilli!
Running is alway's better outdoor's, i reckon Rusty. I love running in the rain too, as usually no-one else around. Nice and peaceful. Treadmill's are handy when it's too hot, etc, but i love the scenery, and the adventure of an outdoor run, especially in a new place. Just put yer shoes on, grab yer water, and go!
mmm, a run sounds good right now.

Have a beautiful week folk's. x

September Serenity - Week 2

Chill - Let's hear about those far off places you travel to in your dreams tonight!

Rusty and G - I must be the odd man out as I do all of my training on the treadmill. Of course, the half-marathons and races I run are outdoors but I've never gotten comfortable running outdoors by myself. Maybe that will be something I challenge myself to do once I am recovered.

Lav and Pap - thanks again for the nursing advice. Other than being a bit groggy and sleepy today, my pain has subsided substantially. Ony 6 more days before I see the surgeon again!

Rusty- I've been to Detroit for business more times than I would like to admit but I've never been to Windsor, Ontario. Sounds lovely.

After seeing the picture of Chill's beautiful dog earlier today, I couldn't resist sharing a picture of my dear little Westie - he has been such a good little companion over the past week - I love him to pieces!

Hope you all have a wonderful and restful evening! Attached files

September Serenity - Week 2

I'm lovin' all these cute dog pics!

Just a quick check in for me. I have been having a hard time lately finding time to check in. Sunday was a busy day with family over and football games to watch. And I have to leave home earlier in the mornings this year for work, and morning was always my best chance for posting.

Rusty, I hope your date goes well!

To everyone else, peace, strength and bon reve rose!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

September Serenity - Week 2

Goodness what a long complicated couple of days here. I can?t catch up with everybody let alone say a thing about my time, but I missed commenting on two ongoing themes which has been bothering me. Star (Red), one of my favorite people of all time had a variant of Asperger?s. Socially awkward in the conventional sense but remarkably charming and quaint. If I recall your son also recently came out to you (please forgive me if I am wrong about this) but he does indeed sound like a young pearl, unfinished as yet but very likely beautiful and rare. I would shoot the moon, go with any sort of education that allows him to figure his way forward. And Cyn, the plight of your friend and his wife is heartbreaking. Please accept my deepest sympathy; illness and disability can strike us where we live the fullest. I remember when Lord Bird Heart had a severe heart attach at age forty-nine after having no lifestyle risk factors, the whole earth shifted for me and will never go back. You and your friend are as alive as it gets, this is where the rubber meets the road and I think it is so worth being awake. More later with hopefully pet pictures and fun things. Love, Ladybird.
may we be well

September Serenity - Week 2

Good night, serene-ers, and hello to those who wake with the eastern sun.

Late night here, and as usual I'm posting in the bottom of the ninth inning (week-wise). I expect to see a new week when I look for you all tomorrow!

Thanks again, everyone for your sweet condolences for my friend. She texted me that they were sharing smiles today, so that is a good sign. Doing lots of research on what course of treatment to take...but feeling more in control. It struck me that it is that very thing which is an immense blessing with the AF life. Being able to control at least one thing in one's life.

Chill - great sweet dog of yours! And thanks for asking your question - I've loved seeing all the ideas. My business is helping seniors downsize and move - would there be any call for that where you are? If you are interested, I will send you more information, and I would gladly help you get started. It's not a particularly easy start-up, but the work is wonderful - people are so grateful.

Rusty, no, in my dreams I live in Santa Fe, but in reality I live in Arizona. More heat and far less charm than New Mexico. Hope you survive your week - take care, and brava for the weight loss. You too, Sooty!

Lav - I've done plenty of clear-out sales for my clients; I actually love tag sales - shall I come lend a hand?

Rebirth - woo-hoo on 101 (2) days!

Star - I think LBH got it just right when she spoke of your son being "very beautiful and rare". That struck a chord with me (thanks as always LBH) and I feel that she must be right. Hope all is turning out well.

Sped - I love the story of the dog licking your knees. Somewhere in the mists of bodywork info I recall that the knees have some special significance in terms of body energy - anybody else hear anything like that? I feel like that dog was comforting you and also helping to draw your energy out.....

OK enough babble - meet you all in the new week -- cheers --
to the light
