Morning everyone - my evening plans didn't work out due to fact I fell asleep at 8.30pm and woke up at 10am today.Feeling great today though.

Love being AF and feeling clear - compared to last Saturday with ill/sick/anxiety feeling.
Looking forward to a weekend with not much to do - no huge social events - hurrah.
Just gotta do leg exercises/see friend for birthday lunch today.

I am really looking forward to tomorrow with gym and steam and cleaning/sorting out house. In state of chaos/needs a clean/need more paper storage - some throwing out to happen. Also need to get rid of fruit fly infestation.

I love September it feels like the real start of the New Year to me, looking forward to buying new Autumn/Winter work wardrobe. More than anything I'm looking forward to eating those 1700 calories as oposed to 1200-1400!!

Morning bear and all abbers to come!

Wow, Rip-Van-Bear!! :H:H That's a lot of Zzzzzzzs! I like September too and it is a great time for those kinds of activities. The equinox is on the 21st. This is a great time for cleansing meditations, detox cleanse, enrgy clearing etc. Smudge away, lav!

Last night's art show was OK. I couldn't round up anyone to go. The GF had worked herself into a snit for whatever reason and was determined to sit in it. So, I went alone (made myself really) and right when I was leaving the show a GF (the one I go to FL with who likes to birdwatch) called so I ended up in her lovely garden chatting with her and had dinner there. We watched a pink night hawk moth feeding on her moon flower vine that drapes across one side of a porchCelebrating Wildflowers - Pollinator of the Month - Hawk Moths or Sphinx Moths - look at the bottom 2 pictures, I swear it had a 7" tongue) amazing! She'll be here in about an hour to take our bikes to the river park. Apparently there has been some high front that has kept the migratories waiting and they should be heading out now. They follow the waterways and these two days the area is supposed to be loaded with birds.

Later, meeting the snit GF and a couple others for a late afternoon lunch at a little local place known for it's cheese steak subs. And it happens to be right down from my new-found farmer's stand

That sounds rather like a mojo post, doesn't it? Good. I need to feed my spirit. It's really hungry.

Shout out to everyone - I love to see all the people on the thread even if it's just to check in. Marshy I hope you're kicked back this weekend. P3, :h & appreciation! Gaia, hope things settled. Off to round up binocualrs and bug repellant.

One thing is for sure!

Hi bear & Greenie,

Back AF, bear? I think I missed your return. Does it feel right this time?

Greenie, delighted to see your mojo beaming out.

I'm at work - been a helluva long week. Still, I'm meeting my non-girlfriend for a wander round the Tate tomorrow and to see this exhibition. Tate Modern| Current Exhibitions | Exposed

(It used to be a power station, which is why it looks like that ).

I'm going to be losing one of my regular work days (thank god!) because of changes at work. It's something my boss warned me about way back in about March so I've known it was coming. I'll still be fine financially and it will give me a bit more flexibility (and days off!) for the time being. I'll see how it goes for a few months and then maybe think about getting more work or rearranging things.

Have a good day everyone! Attached files

Hello all! Cool and rainy here today and I am supposed to walk in a parade with the Buy Local organization that we belong to. I thought about blowing it off but attendance has been an issue and I'm on the board. Need to just "do the right thing" here so I will be donning a raincoat, umbrella, good sense of humor and going for it. I'm not even pissed off which is really amazing considering where I was a year ago mentally / emotionally with stuff like this. It's so nice to not have little things upsetting me constantly. Worth the effort. Sometimes it feels MAGICAL!!!!

P3 I love the little doggie agility link! Now I have BIG dreams for the day when I have a little doggie all my own. And don't think I'm kidding here because I'm not!! I hope you have a fun weekend and that your good mojo returns.

Greenie, sounds like you had quite a good mojo day! You mention of a "hawk moth" made me think of the hawks and falcons that nest around here. And the story Mr. Doggy came home with earlier this week (can't believe I forgot to mention it) that a new customer he visited (a home computer thing) is a falconer. One living inside the house and one outside the house. As dog people, we can only assume that means the two don't get along. :H Anyway, he takes them hunting and races them. Amazing. Little doggie agility seems so NORMAL compared to falcon racing. I hope you get to see some amazing birds today at the river greenie!

Bear, it sounds like you are doing good. I always wondered about your low calorie goals especially with all the exercise you get with roller derby training. Enjoy some FOOD!!! I have already done some fall shopping. I agree - it's fun!

I can't believe I bought this little faux fur vest. INC International Concepts Vest, Cropped Faux Fur - Jackets & Coats INC International Concepts - Women's - Macy's am I going to start acting / dressing my age? Oh wait. I'm 29. I can wear whatever I want and it will always look fabulous, right?

Lav, have fun getting ready for your yard sale. It feels good to get rid of stuff we don't need doesn't it? I enjoyed taking stuff to the mission recently in the 2nd floor cleaning project.

Well, I'm skipping AA today in favor of a workout since they were closed last monday. With all the crap I've been eating I absolutely need 5 (or 10) workouts a week to burn even half of it off. I gotta straighten up about that, but that's another sandwich post entirely!!!

Hello to all yet to come and have a fabbie abbie day! One thing is for sure, there will be no AL for this doggy girl today.

Hi Marshy. Wow - that exhibition looks very interesting. Where can we hide to see the exhibition and throw some popcorn at you and non-GF I wonder?

Maybe the easing of the work schedule is a blessing considering your Mom's situation? Don't know if that will allow you to spend more time with her considering the distance involved...... Sounds like it is a welcome respite in your eyes, so good for you!

I want to go to that exhibition.

Good Morning Folks:

Just a quick check-in to say hi. Got another good night's sleep last night and am feeling better each day. A neighbor stopped in to see me last night and saw me in bed with my leg propped up on 4 pillows and she said - 'You don't have to sleep that way, do you?" Yep, I do and I am kind of getting used to this position in a weird sort of way :H

Greenie - you are making my mouth water for a cheese steak sub! Do fries come with that? Or maybe some onion rings??

Looking out my bedroom window it looks like it is another beautiful day. I hope to get the window open in a little bit to get some fresh air in here. Maybe a little birdie will fly in to keep me company (of boy, my little westie wouldn't appreciate that)!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

GM Abbers!

Wow, everyone has really cool things to do today.
I'm just going to do more yard sale organizing, boo hoo! But, I will be happy if I can unload some of this stuff next weekend

John, too bad Pat's Steaks or Gino's don't deliver, huh????
Glad you're keeping that foot elevated. Get those windows opened today - it's beautiful outside.

Every year a strange looking caterpillar shows up in my herb garden. There's about 15 of them out there right now & they have successfully finished off my flate leaf Itialiab parsely. I'll have to look for a picture to post.

OK, time to get to work. Enjoy this beautiful day in the most AF way

Good Morning All,

Quick check in. I am on my way to a training for RE teachers at my church.

Lots of activity here already.

September has always felt like the new year to me; not January. And, it is the Jewish New Year!!

I met some friends for dinner at an outdoor neighborhood restaraunt last night. I met them in my own car. When dinner was over, they toddled off to the bar to have another drink and chat with friends. I felt a bit annoyed and left out but proud of my choice.

Bear, Happy to hear that your eating more. It's ironic, but you have to eat calories to lose weight. I am slender but I have to eat at least 1700 per day to maintain my weight. Too little...I gain. Too much...I gain. My hope for you is that you don't try to do it all at once, i.e., lose weight, abstain from Al, stop smoking, etc. If you stop drinking, the rest will naturally follow. It may not be on the timeframe that you want but it will happen.

Paguy, Happy to hear that you are on the other end of the surgery and I hope you continue to feel better. Don't know if they gave you pain meds but be careful with those if they did because they can wake up the beast!!

Greenie, I love the description of your peaceful evening in the garden. My mojo is still not great but a little better.

DG, Love the vest. One of the things I have enjoyed since I stopped drinking is wearing younger, funkier clothing. Why not, I feel younger now! (And, I'm still 29 like you).

Marshy, I'm glad you checked in. You seem like you are doing well.

Hi Suni, Lav, Gaia, and all to come.

HI everyone,

So many links to interesting things today!

Greenie caw that moth! Are you sure it's not really a snake?

Marshy I love the Tate but the Exposed exhibit is a little creepy. I wonder if they thought of just calling it Big Brother? If there were a tape for every time I picked my nose in the car it could create a video marathon.

DG I want that model's hair. Hard to tell where the hair ends and the fur begins. Are you still happy with your haircut? I'm trying to grow mine out a little and I do believe my hair is a little thicker than it was 4 months ago. Dare I say a little less gray too? How can that be?

Lav hope your yard sale makes lots of dough!

HI Suni, hi Bear. I agree, Bear, enjoy your food. 1400 a day sounds low for an active person. Did I mention that I've lost almost 15 pounds since January? 10 since May? By accident. Really. Well stress had something to do with it. And I eat, lots. More than I used to.

PAguy glad you are feeling better. And getting sympathy from the neighbors.

Hi M3 - I'm doing a mojo chant for you. And I'll try smudging. MO-JO MO-JO MO-JO!

Well I'm off to an outdoor festival today where there will be lots of music and sunshine. Later all!

Hi guys!

Wow, everyone seems so vibrant this morning!

DG, I also love the vest!

Suni - welcome back!

PG - take care of yourself.

Marshy, enjoy the exhibition!

Lav - get some good garage saleing in!

Greeny - sounds like a nice night and the bike ride sounds fabulous.

My plan for the day is to go to a meeting, go for coffee with my sponsor, do some cleaning and cook a nice dinner for my family. I am only home for the weekend and it will go fast. Next Wednesday I am home for good. I'm trying to remember that I need to change my behavior patterns and get some active healthy lifestyle choices going. Monday will be 60 days for me - the longest I have gone in 10 years without AL. Feels amazing!

DG - Yes, I do intend to do the steps and keep up with my meetings. The fellowship, love, strength and hope I find there is something I need right now. I was afraid to go because of the whole "GOD" thing which I feel is what keeps a lot of us from joining however I am past that now once I have the understanding of what that means for me and I am grateful that I have the additional strength from them.

Okay, on that note, I'm off - need to get ready, walk to the busstop and get my butt to the meeting!

Have a great day everyone,

One day at a time here!

Love and hugs,

Looking forward to getting some stuff done around here today. Time to start cleaning up the garden for fall, go for a hike, swim, mow the lawn...Maybe I'll save some for tomorrow.
