Hi Gang!!
Back from day one of agility. One of the great things about this teacup agility is that the trials go so much quicker and are so much shorter!! If this were a CPE trial, I'd still be waiting to do my first run of the day!! We had a lot of fun today. We placed second and first but no qualifications so the placement doesn't really mean anything. The first run was total disaster. The courses are much tighter because the dogs and equipment are smaller and Kobe and I kept running into each other. The second run he actually did the teeter!! Jumped off it the 3rd run tho. The teeter and weave poles are our achilles heel and why we don't compete in AKC trials.
I volunteered a ton today so I got to meet a lot of folks. Looking forward to tomorrow and 3 more runs.
I got brave and booked a hotel for 3 nights up in Bar Harbor, ME for the Columbus Day weekend CPE agility trial (and I'm not inviting my "friend" to come with me). I absolutely ADORE Bar Harbor and surrounding area and decided to splurge with money I absolutely do not have :H !! It will be a mini vacation and guess what? There'll be a clambake!! And you can be sure I won't miss this one :H!!
Greenie-I used to be such a birdwatcher!! Took trips in New England and everything!! I really miss it but you just can't bird watch with 3 yappy dogs LOL!! I am so out of synch I totally forgot this is the big hawk migration weekend around here and I bet it's fantastic since a cold front came in last nite. I'll have to go on line and see what the counts were like.
DG-if you ever get yourself a toy breed dog, you must try teacup agility. the only downside is that they don't have the number of trials the other organizations have but for someone as busy as you it might be just perfect. They are also always indoors as far as I know which can be a big advantage although today they had the big garage door open the whole time. I can't believe no one lost their dog today with all the ones that decided to run around the ring instead of listen to their handlers!! I'm probably just really paranoid in that respect. I'm very lucky that Koby sticks to me like glue.
Bear-oh how lucky you are to be able to eat 1700 calories and still lose!! My calorie limit is around 1400 and most days I don't even get there but I'm still not losing. I'll have to check with the nutritionist. I must be doing something wrong oh yes, the Mickey D's once or twice a week is probably the culprit!! er, um maybe the DD bacon egg and cheese sandwiches a few times a week? Hmmm. It thought we 29 year olds were supposed to be able to eat anything we want????
Lav-you beat me to it!! I was all set to get you a pic of your catapillar!! Do you ever get to see the end result?? besides the decimated parsley I mean :H
Hey Uni-I can't believe it's been almost a month already!! It seems like just yesterday you left for the rehab center!! You must be so excited to be able to come out of this with all these wonderful tools and new connections.
John-you sound great!! I'm glad you are sleeping ok despite the wierd position. I'm a side sleeper myself and when I was recovering from my wrist surgeries I couldn't do that. I didn't get much sleep for a few weeks!!
Mohun-big congrats on 1 week!! :goodjob:. Keep up the good work and the faith. It will get easier!!
Hi M3, Gaia. Welcome back Suni!!
I am off to try to hook up my new gas grill. I don't know why I have gotten more fearful of things I used to do with ease a few years ago. I'm petrified I'm going to blow myself up!! How silly!! But I REALLY want to grill my freshly picked eggplant tonite so I must put my BGSTP on and stop the paranoia.
I WILL be back later!!
:l :fingers:
