    September Serenity - week 3

    Hi John
first congrats on cleaning out your PC-I know how tough it can be to rid one of a virus. yech!!
I've been training in agility for almost 2 years now. I go once a week for an hour and have moved up to Intermediate. If you are interested in getting started, check with a training facility near you to see if they hold classes. You want a trainer that also competes. Mine competes in herding dog trials and agility and has her own website and works almost full time at 2 facilities as a trainer. She's been doing this for years. Most people train for at least a year before competing. I compete right now in CPE (Welcome to Canine Performance Events, Inc.) and Teacup (TEACUP DOGS AGILITY ASSOCIATION) and in October i'm going to go to a NADAC (www.nadac.com) trial as I've heard they are fun and relaxed as well. It help to have some athletic ability but as you've seen in my video, you don't have to have any at all :H !! If you dog likes it, you'll do fine. If your dog has a good recall and likes to be by your side at all time that can be a bonus although sometimes it's a curse too. The dogs that like to go "visiting" in the ring or even jump out of the ring are a liability especially at outdoor events. I have a friend (my videographer) who only does indoor trials just for that reason.
I could go on and on. PM me if you want more info or I can email you.

      September Serenity - week 3

      Thursday eve check in --
Just want to say (again) how grateful I am that our little band is so honest. Chill - OMG you really have been hit hard by challenges. Of course you feel worn out and beaten down! ('lodged'....) I'm so impressed that you are feeling your feelings and sticking with yourself, not pretending or running away. I guess this is one of those 'round the dark side of the moon' times....keep going on the circle...Sending you peace.
LBH - I know the fragile feeling. Lay low and heal. PM me ANYTIME.
Papmom - no agility for us today, but pool training (the kind you swim in). My weimy boy was very brave, and got all four feet in - major progress. My girl is finding her inner 'lab' - swimming and retrieving like a little fish. She actually looks a little like a seal in the water.

Sped - I'm working on the heat, honest I am.....come, cool breezes.....

Mr PA - so glad all is working out. You should definitely look into agility with sweet Westie, it forms such a great bond with your pet.

Star, Rusty, Rustop, Sooty, Mr G, REbirth, Lav, Dill, sorry anyone I missed - happy sleeping/waking and see you in Friday zone....hoping you will be serene.....

        Good morning all. Happy friday.

John I am glad to hear that you are virus free. It has happened to me a couple of times and I feel lost with my computer! How the world has changed..rememeber the days when we could only communicate via phone or letters?

P3 will have a look at your links when I have a minute. x

          Good Morning Guys
Well I woke up feeling much brighter today, the sleep council must have been working on my woes last night.

Cyn - I'd forgotten about you analogy about the dark side of the moon and I love it! We have to know contrast in this world to experience life, if we didn't know dark how could we appreciate light? If not sadness how would we know joy?

I'm still in bed writing this from my iPad, it's my pre-birthday lunch today and my girlfriends have booked a fabulous beach restaurant. However, the thunder and lightening is in full swing so it will take a miracle for it to have dried up by lunchtime, what is it they say "make God laugh and tell him your plans.....:H

Paguy - I did actually come across stuff on blogs on the squidoo site you gave me, thank you, I guess I just can't imagine having anything of interest to say.

Anyway it's Friday my serene friends and enough about me, I want to hear what nice things everyone has planned......

            Morning Chill,
My day is the usual. Working in my jewellery shop, thinking of jewellery, making jewellery!
But today I finally got off my butt and exercised. Not had sugar for two days so far so I am feeling mentally better.
Glad to hear that you are too. Your lunch venue sounds heavenly!

              So happy it's Friday

Chill, just take care of yourself. I know when problems take over it is natural to want to withdraw, and that is good to a point. But, I am so happy to hear you are willing to be with people who care about you and want to celebrate you on your birthday. About 15 years ago, I was in a similar situation financially, ready to lose it all. It was so stressful I lost about 20 pounds...the only time in my life I could not eat. I was AF at that time. Once we made decisions, I found a job, and got out of the house, taking positivie action. I was able to focus on work and fill my time. It was not a career job, but an administrative position. I did not make tons of money, but what I did make helped alot, plus I was busy. Within a year things had changed for the better. I am telling you this because right now it sounds like you are in limbo, and when I was in limbo, it was hard on me. Being at home and worrying is stressful, please PM me if you want to talk. We are all here for you. I was thinking about crisis and opportunity. After this time in my life I went back to school, earned degrees and hopefully a better chance of earning a living. Plus, I loved school, and it changed my life for the better. Hoping that some good comes out of this time in your life.:l

Dill, thanks for the reading. Oscar Wilde was such a character, he had something to say about many things, and was so perceptive. But not about himself. I love gong to conferences, acquiring knowledge is so energizing, plus doing something different is like a mental health day. Learn and have fun.

LBH, thanks again for your willingness to share. Be small and quiet for a time as that is what you need. Know that you are a valued member of this thread and your contributions are appreciated.

Sped, I shopped at Penney's, Macy's, and just department stores as they have a huge selection. I too hate to shop, so to go to little boutiques was just not going to work for me, it takes too much time. Now, I have a friend who has found dresses at consignment shops, but that is not for me, either. Maybe you would have luck though, you never know. Oh, and I also roped in the sales associates, asking their opinion and they were so helpful. Get them on your side, tell them what you are looking for and make it a game. I did, and had a lovely women bring me different sizes, give me her opinion, etc. Wish I could go with you.

John, eighteen hours? wow, viruses are horrible, time consuming and expensive. Good that you fixed it. Are you able to engage in any out of the house activities yet?

Fall weather is here. Yesterday was so cold and rainy, so autumnlike. It smelled delicious, was gray and cloudy. I enjoy the change of the seasons. I am getting out some of my warmer clothes, and relishing every minute of it. Lav, I am going to make that apple crock pot dish you turned us on to last year. It smells so good. This weekend I am taking in my summer garden stuff and putting it away. There are some festivals this weekend that I may go to, so today I will clean and take care of business to go tomorrow with a clear mindset. Sending you all good vibes for a great AF day.

                Happy Friday everyone

Chill - Glad you are feeling a little brighter this morning. Enjoy your lunch, hope the weather improves for it.

John - It must be a relief to have sorted out the virus and be up and running again.

LBH - Know how difficult it is to fess up. As Star says you are a valued member of this thread.

Rebirth - Well done on giving up the sugar, I know how hard that is. I have another 7 lbs to shift and really need to get motivated again.

Sped - Good luck with your search for the dress. I got a lovely outfit sometime ago and I would never have even seen it had it not be for the help of a really good shop assistant. I told her I wanted dressy casual and she gave me a selection. She wasnt too pushy either which was great.

Star - You sound positive today. Like you we will be putting a lot of the furniture etc away this week-end. I cleaned out the garage last week.

                Dill - Enjoy your conference.

Sooty, Lav, Guitarista, Cyn and anyone else I missed big hello and have a great week-end.

                  GM kids!

Slept in a bit this morning but who is watching? :H

The rain is gone, sun is out & the weather looks perfect for tomorrow's yard sale. My DIL & grandson are staying over tonight so they can be up & ready to help in the morning. I'm sure EB will be a tremendous help :H

Glad you are back from the dark side of the moon Chill
I had a small panic attack last night, don't know where it came from - probably stress related. I straightened myself out with a meditation CD, thank God!

I think we need to credit Dill with that crockpot apple recipe Red(Star)! That was very, very good!

LBH, hope you are well & soon ready to step back into the light with us :l

Greetings to Cyn, John, rebirth, Dill, Rusty, rustop, papmom & everyone.
                  Have a great AF Friday!

                    Good Morning!

I have such a BUSY day planned here laying in bed with my foot propped up on 3 pillows :H:H I do feel absolutely relieved now that I am virus free

I hope to make more progress today on reading ?The Shadow of the Wind?. This is one of the few books where I have had to take pen in hand and map out all the characters and how they are related to one another. I am half-way through the book and the author is still introducing new characters. As I?ve said before, I really do enjoy the author?s style of storytelling ? I am enjoying the book quite a bit. Hope to finish it this weekend.

Looks like it?s going to be a great weekend for a YARD SALE!

Glad to see that your spirits are on the comeback, Chill.

I plan to make a practice run (LOL ? more like a crawl) of going down the stairs sometime this weekend as I have to get to the doctor?s on Monday. This should be interesting.

Hope you all have a great Friday!

                      Good Morning Friends,

Just a quick check in to say hello and I'm home today!:yay: I woke up this morning thinking I was still in Canada.:H So typical for me. So, it's paperwork at home, working out and cleaning...my big fat Irish Friday.

Star-I dreamt last night that I was on the road at a hotel diner that had a bar and you called me on my cell phone to try and talk me out of it. All I remember saying was is that we had a bad connection and I could tell from the area code that you lived in Illinois. Ok, Rusty, no more eating Weight Watchers Fudgsicles before bedtime!:H You mentioned My Big, Fat Greek Wedding, Star....guess what....my niece is marrying a 100% Greek man in June. His parents are Greek nationals, and their lifestyle is very much like that of the Greek parents in the movie, except they don't use Windex for cleaning windows, they use iodine.

Friends, I really love you guys but please don't be alarmed if you don't see me posting or lurking much in the next few weeks...I am smarting from a very bad experience I had with an MWO member whom I tried to help a few months ago. She left me another drunken message on my cell phone last night and I just feel like a fool for trying to be so helpful. How dumb could I have been? I love this thread but think I might need to step back a bit. You guys are great but I am really upset about this as this is my first experience with an internet support group. Sorry for the rant.....I needed to unload.:upset:

Rusty - I'm so sorry you have had a bad experience and hope it doesn't stop you coming to this thread, I love having you around and hearing about your life. Would miss you tons if you disappeared. :l

Lav - good luck on the yard sale tomorrow, any guest appearance expected from lawn boy?

Star - thank you for your post, you have given me food for thought. I have no confidence in my abilities and need to overcome this fear in putting myself out there, I'm still torn by two worlds and drift on thinking it might get better instead of taking action.

After the storm this morning the skies cleared and the sun shone, I had lunch at the beach with my fav girlfriends, there were pink balloons, pink cake, champagne and lots of hilarity that didnt finished at 6pm! And I was AF....
