It rained last night. Yea. Tomorrow is only supposed to be in the 70's! Yea. My neuroma only hurts after 15 miles, 5 is painless. Yea. I get to do a kindergarden class this afternoon. I am (finally) in a good mood.
          Love to all of y'all,

I think you are doing just great, you seem happy and at peace with yourself, you can't get much more right than that......

Sped - glad you are in good spirits

Lav - thanks for the reminder to enjoy NOW as you say my alone time will be back before I know it

Paguy - I read that thread with interest, to be honest I kept drafting a post for it then deleting it.... I guess that speaks volumes :H I was actually a pretty extroverted party girl always wanting to be socializing, over the last few years I started retreating and since going AF I love spending time alone.

                  September Serenity - week 4

9 pm - time to relax.

Had to deal with a hairy event today but it's done!
I had to bite the bullet & turn my old chickens over to the Amish farmer. He is going to hand them over to someone else tomorrow who will turn them into food............I can't think about it (they were my 'friends'). But the reality is they were no longer laying.....16 hens producing 2-4 eggs/day. Not cool!
So I will care for my new flock & they will start laying in March. Until then it will be supermarket eggs

Nice to see you Spud! What's going on with you these days?

Is it my imagination or are we missing a few charter members here the past few days? Dill, LBH, Sooty - where are you?

Hope I don't have chicken nightmares tonight & I hope all of you have a peaceful night as well

                  Lav

                      Good morning guys
Yes yesterday was international peace day Cyn, thank you for the reminder,
I didn't feel very peaceful yesterday, got another letter from the bank, it was in Portuguese but I understood the gist of it and it wasn't good.

Lav - sorry about the Hens but I'm sure they had a very good quality of life with you. And yes we are missing a few passengers including our driver!

I'm glad Spuds & Paguy also find company draining, I thought I was alone with this weird trait, they say you are never lonely if you like yourself so I guess that's a good thing.

This morning I plan I short bike ride in the countryside then I am going to a 70th birthday lunch. It's my friends father who has taken over a magnificent restaurant further up the coast to host his party. It sits on top of a cliff with spectacular views and if we are lucky we may see some dolphins today. We are all being limo-ed to the venue and lunch is a gourmet affair of 7 tiny exquisite courses then we come back early evening to my local bar to have birthday cake. The champagne will be flowing all day but it's just not even an issue for me anymore.......

Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday!

                          Happy Hump Day, Serene Friends!

Chill-sounds like you have a fun day planned. Enjoy the B-Day party!

Lav-sorry about the hens...I know just what you mean when you say you can't think of them as your friends....but I'm sure they enjoyed their life in Lav's Hen-i-pen Palace!

Shelley-great job that you got to teach kindergarten. What did the doc say about your foot?

John-how are you getting along on your cast?

Dill, Star and Ladybird-where are you lovely ones?

Hi Cyn-you must be an early riser like me-I was up well before 4 this morning.

                          Rebirth-how are things with you?

It's my last day in Tennessee. I fly home tonight and leave again for Missouri tomorrow (for our friends in the UK, Oz, and Portugl. it's in the midwestern part of the US) tomorrow. With all the traveling I do, if I wake up in the morning and know what city I'm in, what my hotel room number is and what my rental car looks like, then I'm having a GREAT day!:H Next week, I only have to work 2 days and I don't have to fly anywhere! WHOO WHOO!

Hi to Mr. G, Sooty, Rustop, Papmom and anyone I may have missed, have a great AF day!

                            September Serenity - week 4

My goodness, I thought I was up early this morning! For those of us in the States, there are several early risers here! Actually, early morning is my favorite time of the day. It?s guaranteed ?alone? time. Well, it?s me and my Westie but he keeps to himself this early in the morning

I didn?t have any alcohol related dreams that I can remember last night as I had the previous night. Actually, I feel really well rested today so I am thankful for that. I woke up with the beautiful moon shining on my bed! What a nice way to get the day started ? especially since it?s my first day back to work :upset:

I am finding it easier to still stay upstairs on my 2nd floor during the day since I have everything that I need there. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, bathroom facilities , computers, etc. All the comforts of home, heh? I do go downstairs when Mr. Partner comes home from work in the evening to have dinner and watch some television. Getting up and down the stairs on the crutches is getting easier.

The fiberglass cast is not bad at all. Much more lite-weight and I have more wriggle room. I?m not supposed to be moving my toes but once in a while, they just jump around all by themselves :H

Rusty ? I think you?re doing pretty darn good if you can always remember your hotel room number and rental car. That has always been a challenge for me when I travel for business. Keeping track of all the room numbers and cars is a challenge. Glad to hear you have a short week next week.

Chill ? Sounds like you have another lovely day planned. Sorry to hear you had more less than welcome news from the bank. Hang in there. :l

Papmom ? Hope you are enjoying your vacation and time away from work.

Do we need to send a search warrant out for our missing members? Please check in!

                            Happy hump day to everyone!
                            John

good Morning and Happy Humpday!! I've been off line until last nite due to a computer virus that I picked up on a quilting website of all things!! This one disguises itself as an anitvirus program that you think might have come with your programs and it tells you in very bright red text that you have multiple viruses and threats on your PC. It has a "remove all" button that when you click it it brings you to a page where they want you to choose one of their packages of protection. If you've gone that far they've got you. In reality it's a Malware program, it prevented me from accessing the internet (except through Opera but I didn't know that until last nite), and it's almost impossible to remove unless you have a very knowledgable friend staying with you who knows all these cool anti malware sites that know how to remove this exact virus.

So inbetween doctors appointments, taking my dad for eye surgery and doing a mad cleaning for these friends who called me Monday nite asking if they could park their RV in my drive on their way home from Newfoundland-they live in NY-I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why I couldn't get on the web and then when I realized it was a virus, how to get rid of it.

All is well now and I now have a very effective anti-malware program installed that I will run religiously every month. BTW, I had over 800 objects compromised on my PC!!

These are the same friends I was a little afraid to hook up again with as we were massive wine drinkers when we got together. It's been over a year since they visited last and I thought I was safe this year as I hadn't heard from them except for the occassional update on their trip. It all turned out very well tho. I had told them a while ago I didn't drink anymore and I had to repeat that last nite. They asked why and I said it was due to medical issues and told them what was going on with the diabetes and kidney disease. Before I told them that tho, we got take out Pizza (I know but they were paying!) and when we got back they asked if they should bring out the beer or red wine and looked at me. I said: "Bring out whatever you want, I'm having lemonade." Easy peasy. Nice dinner and conversation (pizza was yummy-I had the veggie delux to make up for all the carbs) and we were all turned in early as they have been battling nasty colds for the past few days which is why they couldn't make it all the way home yesterday.

Got up for my morning walk with my neighbor and told her I was thinking of going to an AA meeting in the near future (she's the one I just recently found out had quit drinking around the same time as me). She said she had tried that and warned me against it. Said that you get overwhelmed with creeps when they find out you have a job and a car. That's not the feeling I've gotten from reading the AA thread here so I'm going to find out for myself at some point. At least now I know she has no interest in going.

Dentist appt today and then the afternoon is wide open. going to be hot today-at least 83!! I might start on my office space but if my friends stay another nite I'll get out my sewing machine and get some help from them as I think there is something wrong with it. I'd love to make a few more belly bands for the boyz and then start a quilting class.

Sounds like everyone is doing well this Wednesday and we're all busy bees.

Lav-sorry you had to turn your hens over to some people who will turn them into dinner. probably why I could never keep chickens-I wouldn't be able to do that and then I'd be accused of being a chicken hoarder!!

Chill-your lunch today sounds lovely!! Will you be able to take some pics for us? I'm glad you feel so serene about not joing in with the champagne fest. It's just not an option anymore is it? And it feels good!!

Rusty-you are making me dizzy!! You must be very young to keep up this pace!!

                              Good to see you Soots!

Ollie Ollie All Free! Dill and LBH-come out come out whereever you are!!

                                September Serenity - week 4

                                Happy hump day everyone

Rusty - Enjoy your last day in Tennessee.

Chill - You sound as if you have a fun day planned, enjoy.

Lav - Sorry about the hens. Circle of life though, they move on and the new chicks take their place.

Sooty - Welcome back. When are you starting your course?

John - Glad you are able to manage those stairs better.

Well I started my 8 week course last night on MBSR (Mindfulness based stress reduction) meditation and I really enjoyed it. It's modelled on the work of Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn. We did the Body Scan during the class and I found it so, so relaxing. I think I drifted in and out of sleep during it. We were given a cd and our homework for the week is to do the 40 minute body scan each day. Choose a daily routine activity with the intention of bringing full attention and awareness to this activity. So much of what we do during the day is done on auto-pilot. We were also given the Nine Dot Exercise so lots to keep me going. I did the body scan again this morning and while I was more awake than last night I still found it extremely relaxing.

Big hello to everyone I did not mention.

                                Rustop
