Hi DG,
One of my best friends is coming over for the weekend...cooking a nice meal and drinking virgin cocktails together. She is good for me and extremely supportive. Her company will give me a good dose of sensiblity so I am sure I will feel much better tomorrow. Otherwise chocolate cake here I come! Sod the sugar free diet.

P3, I LOVE your plan to bag the projects and go spend some time with doggies and possibly neighbor. Sorry to hear about the blood sugar (BS???? )numbers. I am on board with the sugar monster being in the same camp as AL.

And then here comes rebirth with a chocolate cake. rebirth, sounds like you have a great weekend plan that will cure a bit of what is ailing you.

These boys missed their calling. They should be modeling briefs for Calvin Klein. And this coming from a boxer girl. :h

One thing is for sure......my libido may be lost forever, but I'm not going to drink over it today.

It wasn't a DATE!! There was no test #1! No testing, no dating!! No, M3 I'm NOT attracted to him! It was something to do, that's all. Sheesh! OK, HE might think it was a date, but I don't. :H

FH called and has realized one of his missions in life is to assist in my spiritual growth. It must be true because I did immediately fall to my knees. :H:H

I enjoyed my fried okra brekkie immensely. It got really hot early on so I just bought a lions club broom and went home. They had little girl dance groups doing numbers on the stage and at the risk of sounding prudish it looked like pedophiles' delight to me. Anyway, I'm skipping the restaurant tasting festival downtown. I'd be pouring sweat in line for food bites. Nah.

P3, what do you mean use your phone for you wireless hotspot? So your tests were good AND bad? I wasn't sure on that. Hike sounds nice. I didn't get out of here early enough so maybe this evening....

Yes, I think the test results were good and bad. Good for kidneys, bad for prediabetes. Course I was talking to the baby office manager so who knows what is really going on. I keep saying i have to find a new PCP then she comes in and is so nice and invited me to join her quilting group and gave me her private email addy. If only she could hire some competent help it would be a perfect office!!

OK, so apparently these new 3G/4G "smart" phones can serve as a wireless hot spot for up to 8 PCs in your house. You have to pay a monthly fee of course, just like with any internet provider but in my case it ends up being around $10 per month less. And if I get rid of the cable too(which I NEVER in my life thought I could do!!), that's another $50 less per month. Of course the initial payout for this phone is $120 more than what I payed for the one I have(and $200 if I didn't buy the one I have last month-I get a 30 day trial which is up on the 3rd), but in the long run it should pay for itself in a few months, especially if I exercise restraint and DON'T get a new one next year unless it's free. I really wanted an I-Phone (same price) but I would have to switch carriers which I can't do for at least another year and 2 more if I get this phone or keep the one I have. I've read that this EVO is even better than the I-Phone so we'll see.
That's our Technology lesson for the day. Think I should apply for a job in the Mobile Dept of Best Buy????

P3, the computer / internet / phone / TV set up around here is nuts with Mr. D the techno dude. But for right now, the Tivo isn't working in the livingroombedroom (where we are now sleeping), so no TV. I'm doing just fine with internet only. Hulu has stuff to watch, and of course Netflix. I know there are lots of other internet sources for TV type programming. The cable company might not be getting a lot more of my money either.

Cindi, it's great to see you. KEEP FIGHTING. It's worth it.

Pride-well, it would be on the way home from my FT job so in a way it is!! I keep going in there with shorts and no make up on so I don't dare ask if they have any openings!! Probably only pay min wage anyway but at this point......

Rebirth - it will pass - just never feels like it will when you're in the middle of it. Hope things look brighter tomorrow.

Papmom - you've lost me on the phones but it's good that you've got a plan to save money. I think I'd much rather do without TV than a computer now.

Soooo. At the end of the working week for me tonight, my boss gave me a "thank you" present of... two bottles of wine! Gah. I was going to give them away/leave them sitting on a park bench or something on the way home but I didn't. So now they are in a drawer in the kitchen. Out of sight out of mind. Ho hum.

OMG. There are FOUR beef cakes. Where were the other 2 hiding all day? I went up to take some pictures of the holes in the wall where the bigger windows are going. Might have snuck in a shot or two of eye candy. We shall see if I can ever find that cord.

P3 - my libido is dead and gone but my eyes still work OK. (at least the distance part) :H

ETA: Well, maybe my eyes don't work so well after all since I only spotted 50% of the eye candy in da house until they are almost done for the day.....
