    Hello Everyone,

Hi folks Im Bally from up here in Canada. Ive been sober for almost four months now and feeling pretty good about things. Im staying busy with work and hobbies, but now i think Id better talk to some like minded people about abstinance. Im going for the long haul. I have a new Grandson. What a great kid, Ben is my guy. Im working toward a better life so I can continually support my grandson and family and I want to do it sober. This is my goal. I look forward to talking to you folks, ive read your stuff and you have a good community here. I wish you all well. talk soon.....Bally

    Hello Everyone,

Hello Bally, you are very welcome. Well done on your four months thats really great going. Keeping busy is very important and just one of the many tools we use. The great part of this place is the fantastic support and advice from people who truly understand what this is like. I look forward to seeing you on the boards.

      Hello Everyone,

Hi Bally - 1st of all many congrats on nearly 4 months sober, that's fantastic!

I know what you mean about talking to like minded people, I have been sober for 9 months and life is going along fine, I have plenty friends etc but none I can speak as frankly to as I can here. There are a couple of threads here on monthy abs where you can check in on whenever you like and you will soon get to know everyone. It's been an enormous support to me and I don't think I could have succeeded without my virtual friends.

          Hello Everyone,

          Hi Bally!:welcome:

Congratulations on 4 months sober!:goodjob: This is a WONDERFUL community. I have many weeks AF since logging on to MWO on a regular basis since the end of May.

Also feel free to introduce yourself on the Just Starting Out Forum or General Discussion. There are some regular members who have been AF for quite a while and there are people, who like with most of the forums, who struggle with their sobriety. You will be an inspiration to them as well. You can also Tell Your Story so that people will get to know you....that's an excellent way to establish virtual friends here.

Best of luck to you and continued success on your journey.

                          Hello Everyone,

                          Hi Baily & Welcome!!!

I stopped drinking for the exact same reason you did - my first grandson
I am so happy that I did too because I spend a lot of time alone with him while his parents are at work or school. Such a blessing, I consider him my saviour. If he hadn't come along when he did, God knows what kind of shape I'd be in right now.

Looking forward to getting to know you!
