It's not that I'm sad, really. I'm angry & moving (by baby steps) closer to acceptance.
I can't change Mr Lav's thinking even though he's convinced himself that I read his mind & control his thinking. What a crock of crap :H:HAF since 03/26/09

November Nuturing - Week 1
Good Friday Evening Friends,
Well. it's a Friday night and I am not in my favorite watering hole! WHOO WHOO. I am finally at HOME:yay:
This will be a relatively short post because I am so exhausted from all my traveling I can barely sit up.
Hi Rebirth-I am not sad, just tired....but it's an AF tired and that's a good thing.
Sped-I don't like Indiana because of exactly the things you mentioned: cornfields, churches...and I don't find the people to be particularly nice, not compared to my native Wisconsin. Did you take any pics of cool covered bridges?
Lav- Regarding Mr. Lav: "he has now become his mother & I couldn't stand that bitch either." Yup, I just severed my ties with a man whom I've known for 18 and looked after for 7. He has become his mother as well....a hag from hell! He also blames everyone else for his misery and the fact that he has no friends. Well, duh, when you're an *sshole, no one wants to be around you, you dumb SOB! I have confidence in you that you will find a way to take care of yourself financially without his help. Still, you must be so sad because it was an investment of 37 years. Maybe his epiphany will come if he pisses off one of his bosses and gets fired.
Molly, Oney, Doggygirl, or anybody else on the Daily Thread who might be reading this....if you come across Sheri's post on detachment, please tell me where to look. Thanks!
G-Did I scare you away AGAIN? I'm sorry. Please come back. Ok, in your new avatar, don't wear the revealing swimsuit with the kangaroos on it....wear the one with the Koala Bears instead.:H
SD and Dill-I hope you had a great day at school.
John-how is your foot healing?
Hi to Chill, Rustop, Spirit, Papmom, Cyn, Sooty, LBH, Star, and anyone else who comes along...you guys are great and I'm going to bed before I drown in the bathtub. See you tomorrow!

November Nuturing - Week 1
Happy Friday Evening Fellow Nurturers:
Rusty - Here is Sheri's thread on detachment: https://www.mywayout.org/community/f4...ent-45812.html. Is this what you were looking for?
Very busy here getting adjusted to working full days in the office again. I am glad it is Friday!
Foot is healing nicely - I feel stronger as each day passes. It's still going to be some time before I put the jogging shoes on but at least I am moving, regaining strength, and increasing my movements. I am happy with my progress.
No major plans for the weekend other than trying to get things organized around the house. All of the housecleaning, etc. slipped while I was laid up. Now, it is time to kick some butt and get things clean and tidy again.
Special hugs to those of you who are struggling with challenges and disappointments today. Sending best wishes for peace and strength to each of you.....John

November Nuturing - Week 1
Ok, all of the leftover halloween candy is going in the trash this morning! I can't believe I sat here and gorged myself with at least 20 pieces of 'bite-size' candybars last night - UGH. I am generally not a sweets eater because once I start, I can't stop - sound familiar?
Up early this morning and planning to get to the gym to continue with my recovery exercise program. I'll have to add an extra 100 crunches to compensate for the excessive amounts of sugar I consumed last night. :H
Rise and shine, everyone! I hope it's a beautiful Saturday in your neck of the woods - get up, get out, and make it a great day!
(No, I was not a cheerleader in a previous life... just feeling a little frisky this morning!)John

GM Kids!
I'm up & exercising my right arm lifting my coffee cup :H:H
Glad you are recovering nicely John. Nurse Lav hasn't been of much use lately I'm afraid.
Rusty, rest up now! That's what the weekend is for.
It is sunny & chilly here in cow country this morning. I have no plans myself for the weekend so I'll see what develops. I'm sure there is something around here that needs my attention.
Hope everyone has a wonderful AF Saturday.

November Nuturing - Week 1
Wake up everybody, this thread is too quiet.
My last day in Indiana. My son and I are going to a football game, Purdue vs. Wisconsin. Thinking of you Rusty, a Badgers fan? I have actually never gone to a football game in my entire life!!! Hoping if my son can help me understand the game a little better, it might prove less boring.
Lav, hope you can be done with your ex. You seem more than ready to let go. Know I've asked this before but is traveling an option for you. Am thinking you live in a place where there is something great to see no matter what direction you drive. Driving is therapeutic for me. Splurged and ordered some of my favorite books on tape from Amazon to listen to on the drive back to NM.
My son and I are making homemade pizzas tonight. Like the football game, love trying new things. I have never made a pizza from scratch before. Getting hungry just thinking of the toppings, roasted peppers, onions, mushrooms.
John, can't believe you ate all that candy. I know well how that goes. Once you get a taste, it's so hard to stop. You will feel so much better after the gym.
Will check in later.
Shelley

November Nuturing - Week 1
Hi everyone
Very quick check in from me. Week-ends are so busy I cannot get near the computer or stay very long.
John - thats sounds so familiar, once I start I just cant stop. At least you are doing something to counteract it, well done.
Sped - How did the pizza turn out? We make it every so often, I buy the fresh yeast etc. got the base just right but have yet to get a tomatoe sauce that both the girls like.
Everyone else big hello and have a great week-end, sorry I did not get time to say hello individually.

November Nuturing - Week 1
Good Morning Everyone,
I woke up at 7:40 a.m. OMG! I am so behind on what I have to get done this weekend before I fly out on Monday for Ohio. Only one more trip to Ohio this month then no flying for me until I go to Barcelona in January!:yay::banana:
Shelley-have fun at the game! I love the Badger band....all that beautiful Cardinal Red. I love college football and I plead guilty to one count of being a Notre Dame fan as that's where my dad played football. I can hear some boos in this background as I type this. It is so great that you and your son enjoy being together. How often does that happen? I give you credit for doing something for him that you find boring. Now that takes an unselfish mother, I tell you. I've never made a homemade pizza. You didn't mention any meat on the topping.....are you a vegetarian? I could never be a vegetarian...I am a devout carnivore.
John-I am so thrilled with your commitment at the gym. I see you as an incredibly fit person and good for you for having the discipline to do 100 more crunches to make up for the Halloween candy. Also, thank you for the link to Sheri's thread. I feel badly for Sheri. There were some obnoxious posters and she decided to take time off. Do you know that's the kind of thing that initially turned me off to MWO and kept me away for months at a time? And that was no help to me in addressing my problem with alcohol.
Lav-I hope you have a peaceful weekend, doing whatever YOU want with whomever YOU want because you're a goddess in my eyes and the people on this thread.:l
Well, I am off to the gym. It's a beautiful day here! Nipply though....winter is upon us here in Wisconsin.
Have a great AF Saturday everyone!

November Nuturing - Week 1
All - Here is today's meditation from The Promise of a New Day. We have the power to take ownership and be responsible for our thoughts and focus on positive outcomes:
Our minds are marvelous, always moving, growing, absosrbing, discarding, storing. And we are in control of the direction our minds take. Thus, it's by choice, either conscious or unconscious, that we dwell on negative outcomes rather than positive projections.
Claiming ownership of and responsibility for the direction our our minds and our lives develops a sense of individual power and, in turn, enhances self-esteem. We are what we think. We can think ourselves into becoming better selves.
We are free, at last, from the overwhelming feelings of powerlessness and impotence. The decision to take control of our thoughts and attitudes will be the turning point. When we complement that decision by offering positive direction to our minds, we'll quickly benefit from the advantageous outcomes.
I will utilize my personal power today. I will believe in positive outcomes. I will have hope.John

November Nuturing - Week 1
Paguy, thanks for the link. It’s a very good post by Sheri. I’m glad you are getting back to a more normal routine and schedule. I’ll bet it feels good. Thank you for the reading, too.
Rusty, I guess I would like Indiana. I like cornfields and churches both. I don’t suppose Indiana is a whole lot different from Ohio though. Have you ever been to the Indiana Dunes? They’re amazing.
SD, I sure feel for you. Writing that report and turning it in may be one of the most difficult things you’ll ever have to do. And yet, what choice do you have, really? Stay strong.:h
Star, what was this test that your son did not pass? Was it an entrance exam? I am so sorry it didn’t go well. Don’t lose heart. In the words of the famous Scarlett O’Hara in Gone with the Wind:
"Tomorrow I'll think of some way . . . after all, tomorrow is another day."
Sped, thank you for your supportive comments. I am hanging in. Although my days are longer and fuller, I still basically like what I do, so that is some consolation. Also, I can retire in 2012! I keep thinking about that and it keeps me going. MMMMM, homemade pizza sounds good!
Busy day today with company coming shortly. I have lots to do. Think I’ll bake a pumpkin pie for our guest.
Greetings, Rusty, Rustop, Sooty, Cyn, Lav, LBH, G, Chill, RB.Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

November Nuturing - Week 1
Hello lovely folks, its been a beautiful autumn day here so I've been out walking along the shoreline, gossiping with my friend and it was great! Clouding over now and rain forecast for tonight - I am so glad I took advantage of the sunshine. I am sure that I am one of those people who suffer from sunshine deprivation!
I hope we all have a relaxed and AF weekend, I certainly plan to do just that. People are putting Christmas decorations up round here ... but I've no plans to bedeck the bus just yet you'll be glad to know. We're not singing carols till december!
Take care everyone, catch you all on sunday
love Sooty

Hi Guys
I finally got my internet connection back after much ha-hoo and 3 trips to the computer shop for the correct new modem.....
Lav - I have been way off track recently with my visitors etc and realize how important my meditation is to me remaining calm, i have been back doing it the last two days and feel better already!
Mr G - can you be the big brother I never had? You are such a rock..
SD - Your work situation sounds horrendous and Im concerned its going to be detrimental to your resolve, is there any chance of a change for you?
Star - Sorry about your Son, im glad to see you are focusing on the good stuff. As Cyn says "this too shall pass" this quote has seen me through many a time and no doubt will for the rest of my life.
Rusty - you so make me laugh! I can imagine you being such a fun girlfriend to be with...
Paguy & Dill - thanks for the quotes, Dill "Gone with the Wind" is one of my all time fav movies.
All this talk of food! Yum, its saturday so that means its chocolate night for me Mr Libra took me out for dinner last night and Im cooking for him tonight... We are getting along just fine but I feel an essential spark is missing, however instead of over analyzing it, for now im going with the flow! I suspect I am making a very good friend in him and he is a wonderful person."In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer ."

Hi Everyone - Choochie here just dropping by to say hello.
Have been hanging out on the newbie threads which have gotten pretty active recently.
I keep up with you guys and miss this thread! You are all super.
Chill, sorry to hear the flames are turning into embers. Oh well, if he ends up a friend, that's sometimes even better.
Lav, I have to tell you that you make me laugh out loud. I'm not sure you're trying to be funny because I know you're really going through it with Mr. Lav, but you crack me up. Hope you're able to move past it all but in the meantime hope you don't mind it if get an enormous kick out of your descriptions.
Sounds like everyone is doing well here.
Big hugs,
Choochie:l
