      Don't forget me G :H:H

No, I don't have my big dog back yet! I think at this point it's safe & fair to say my husband is an A__Hole! How the hell can anyone spend so much time devoted to themselves & not give a damn about anything & anyone else????

We do have a perfect weather weekend here John, I'm grateful. Sorry to hear about the work situation, layoffs suck!

SD, glad you survived your work week as well. Too much stress going on there!

Greetings to everyone & wishes for a wonderful AF Saturday

mmm don't fancy pumpkin creme brulee!

Lav I hope you get your dog back very soon.

Well its half way thru Saturday here, both daughters are out and Mr S is watching a rugby game on tv so he might as well be out and I'm going to take myself to the bedroom and have a meditate! I will nurture myself she said forcefully.

Last day of meditation course tomorrow boo hoo I shall have to find something else nurturing to do ... perhaps I'll get myself a toy boy :H

have a good saturday everyone, see you all later

Hey Lav, is it time to go to your local shelter? Can I come? Please Please? I LOVE picking out dogs for people!! I picked out my brothers dog (RIP) from a huge litter and Dewey turned out to be 120lbs of sweetness and life. He was my bro's best friend and traveled all over the country with him. He lived to be 16. Can you believe that? I also loved matching up my foster dogs with their owners. In fact, I just got a wonderful letter with piccys from one of my former foster's adoptive mom. Clovis goes to hospice and the library for out loud reading sessions. She's also just gotten her CDX and is on her way to the Utility Dog title. This is a dog who chewed through a very hard plastic crate and ate my bed. She was also so ugly she was gorgeous. She was also the sweetest dog ever. I didn't think I'd ever find her a home and was ready to keep her and then an angel came along out of the blue. That happens a lot in foster care!! I only had one failure but she wasn't my foster dog and I didn't have the right info to do her justice. If and when I ever open my own shelter/sactuary, it will be named after her to make up for my failure and her lost life.
Sorry for the rambling-the letter yesterday just brought back some powerful memories!!

G-I'm in on the battle for your affections too!! You are one lucky dude!!

Chill-the financial thing will work itself out-I truly believe that. Turn on your charm-offer to pay a pittance each month and I'm sure the company will understand. You are definitely right to go with your gut. I can't tell you how many guys I dated who were downright boring but I felt like beggars can't be choosers so I held on until I thought I would explode. If I ever date again I will keep your level headedness with me to help me make a decision.

            Finger is all healed. Yea!!

At work now-small project-i'll do half and save the rest for the sunday girl.
So mad I can't be out enjoying what will be the last nice day until spring (supposed to hit mid 60's today with nothing but sun :upset

                November Nuturing - Week 2

                :HGood Morning and Happy Saturday!

Yes, it is a beautiful fall morning here in PA. Just returned home from the gym where I actually worked up a sweat for the first time since July and it felt great. And, I am enjoying a cup of my lentil soup as my post workout protein treat. Just posted my recipe - here is the link: https://www.mywayout.org/community/f8...ml#post1002578

Went to bed pretty early last night by my standards (I think it was 9:30pm) so I was up bright and early (4:30am) so I make good progress on my latest book, The Forgotten Garden. I am 3/4 finished and the mystery continues to unravel - I think I may have it figured out but you never know!

On the topic of cluttering and de-cluttering, I recently heard a line from a movie (can't recall the title) that went something like this: "The things we own eventually begin to own us."
So true! I occassionally go through de-cluttering stages and I am due for another one right about now. It is a fact that (aside from socks and underwear), I should never have to buy another article of clothing for the rest of my life (assuming I don't gain or lose a drastic amount of weight). I am beyond the days of having to "be in fashion". Over the past couple of years, the clothes that I have bought have come from the Costco Warehouse - not exactly a 'fashionista' boutique!

Lav - Hope you get your dog back soon - I don't know what I'd do without mine. Keep your 'chin up'. :H (inside joke).

I have not made any progress on meditation. I am planning to go to the library later today so I will have that on my list to look for the recommendations that some of you posted here earlier.

Mr. G - Fortunately, I'm not the jealous type. If I was, I'd be so bent out of shape with all the attention you are getting on this thread! :H I love the flirting that goes on here, especially, (ahem) - our incorrigible friend Rusty :H :H

Hope you all have a fabulous AF weekend and remember - take time to NURTURE yourselves today!
                John

Hi John-how excited are you about your new library card?? To me it's like a whole different and new world each time I go and it's free free free! unless you forget to return the items by the due date she said sheepishly. You can renew online, order from other libraries online and even download books to your iPod!! Unbelievable!! Have fun exploring. Oh and some libraries even have art work they lend out! I haven't used this feature because my decorating is non existent but I've heard others say they get a new room every few months just by changing out the artwork!! Enjoy!!
Oh, and don't be jealous of G. If you want your own fan club, we'll be happy and more than willing to accommodate!! Your cooking does it for me!!

                    Well, well, well!!!!!!!

Shortly after I posted that my husband is an A___Hole he shows up with the dog & an offer to cover the cost of replacing the security system & a promise of $$ to help cover holiday & new baby costs !

If that's all it takes to make him act like a normal person then I should have been calling him an A___Hole all along :H:H
He also helped me move the chicks into their big girl quarters where they now have access to a fenced yard for the first time
I really never know what to expect from this Jekyll & Hyde personality spouse of mine............

Anyway, I feel 'safer' now even if it is just a delusion because Maxie is a nice dog but thieves & robbers don't have to know that

                          November Nuturing - Week 2

Good afternoon. I had a really bad day yesterday, computer spyware, had to take it to the computer doctor. So, I am using my son's laptop.

PAguy, thanks so much for the recipe, I love soup and it is supposed to cool off today and this may be the end of Indian summer. It's been great while it lasted.

Chill, you are so right, no point in stayinig with someone who is boring. There has to be some kind of spark.

Lav, great you got your dog. Aren't moody people the worst.

                          Have a great day, AF.

                            Good morning everyone

Just a quick check in before I start another hectic day. Sun is shining so I am going to have breakfast and take the doggies for a walk. I find if I dont fit in my walk early things just take over. I started doing my meditation in the car while waiting for the girls, it worked out well yesterday and I plan to do the same today. Glad you got the dog back Lav and so much out of YB yesterday. With that type of personality you just have to let it ride and do what you are doing, just getting on with things. Otherwise somebody like that would drive you insane!!! Mind you that applies at times to all other halves, jack and hyde or not.

                            Have a great Sunday everyone.

                              November Nuturing - Week 2

I just lost a long post. How annoying. That's what happens when you have computer problems. So, I had a productive Saturday, much better than Friday. I love the idea of nuturing in November. I was thinking that we are working on releasing the weight of alcohol, the most unnuturing chemical that we can put into our body. It is vital for me to eat right, rest, and plan, plan, plan activites, AF.

Last night I planned relaxation of hot scented bath, clean sheets and pajamas, and just melted last night. What did you do to be good to yourself?

Today, I want to get out of the house, church maybe, and possible mall activity, just to browse. I did tons of laundry yesterday, and cleaning....it was so good to get stuff done, get my house in order

It is so great to be able to read posts from people at different stages in their journey. It keeps it fresh for the rest of us. It is too easy to become complacent, overconfident. I have to keep myself humble, or I too quickly forget.

Weather check....cold, high in the 40's, total change overnight. It is so dark, I kind of want to start putting up Christmas lights, just to brighten it up, make it cozy. Why not, I think I will. The tree will wait till after Thanksgiving, but the lights, why not? We'll see, my husband always packs away the Christmas stuff, and it is hard to get out. I'll try though.

I am going to practice a little yoga, I have been almost daily for the last two weeks, and feel much more flexible. 15-20 minutes a day feels good. Take care of yourselves today, AF.

                                GM Rustop, Star & everyone!

Looking forward to another sunny day in the mid 60's. Yesterday's snowstorm in the Midwest will arrive here Tuesday evening as rain - that's OK with me.

Rustop, I think you have a good point about YB. I'm going to continue to accept his help when he is in the mood to offer & steer clear of him when his mood shifts. Honestly, he has really severe mood swings - much worse than the PMS fueled mood swings I used to suffer:H

OK, need to get out & see how the kids did overnight in their new quarters. I bet more of them will venture outside today

Wishing everyone a fabulous AF Sunday!
