    Good morning Abbers!

It's the day 'after' & I'm happily unhung & pretty much unbloated :H
I can't stand that feeling of eating way too much, yuck!

Thanksgiving dinner at my son's house went very well but I was the first person to leave. Being in such a small house there is no where to go to hide if you want to avoid 'someone'. YB showed up at the last minute, looking like hell for whatever reason wearing his plastic smile & acting like nothing had changed. I thought it would be better to make an early exit rather than get pissed off. I still can't believe my son is now 30 years old! Does this mean I can't be 29 anymore??? :H:H

I did not get up at 3 am for Black Friday shopping at Kohls.......I pity the folks who do that!
My plan is to do as little as possible today

Wishing everyone a wonderful AF Friday!

Checking in from cold and rainy MA!! I too am unhung and unbloated this morning! Yipee! A little disappointed Sis didn't send us home with leftovers. Not sure what that was about!! I too did not get up to partake in Black Friday! Which my sis says is for amateurs!! I love that gal!! I've lazed around this morning, sleeping in until 7am which is the lastest the pups would let me get away with. I have my fitness training on the 30 min express routine at 10 and I'll also do the Elliptical or the treadmill for 30 min. then home to do some cleaning and wait for the oil co. guy to come and clean my furnace. The rest of the day is open-more cleaning? decorating? maybe a slow cooker recipe from the new cook book my sis gave me? I'm not sure why she keeps giving me cookbooks as she knows that is my least fav thing but this one actually looks good!! Fresh Food Fast it's called all with no more than 5 ingredients and no more than 15 min prep. Now even I can do that!! I just love open rainy days like this!!
Tomorrow and Sunday are zoom days with a huge dog show and agility trial to go watch along with window shopping at the vendors and Sunday is shopping in Northampton with the whole family (with hopefully a visit to Smith College's botanical garden and green houses) and then lobsters at my brother's house!! Doesn't get much better than this!!

One thing is for sure-there will be no black friday shopping or AL for this girl!!

    Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning Lav and Pap! And all other fine people who wander in today..

Another AF day, hangover free and feeling good. Pap, I LOVE lobster! With you living in New England they would be nice and fresh, just like here. I love gathering some saltwater and seaweed too and steaming them in that as well, really keeps the flavour in!

The last day for me has been really strange on a personal level for a couple of reasons. I talked to my exhusband this morning about a visit with our little girl close to Christmas and that was the first time in over a year we said words. I will be sending him an email on her, and the do's and don'ts..he wants to have her over night, which I don't see any reason not too so this will be a first. I'm really nervous about that since it will be her first time and my first thought after I got off the phone with him was "Jesus Christ I need a drink".. I've only left her out of my care with my parents for an overnight, and I fully realize this is her father but he's just not part of her daily life. I am just praying it will go well, but if she wants to come home and doesn't want to sleep there over night I really hope he brings her back.

We're baking rainbow cupcakes today and having a playdate with the twin girls down the road which Little Gia has been completely stoked about since yesterday and the first thing out of her lips since she woke up this morning...

        Hello abbers!

Lav - well done on getting through that successfully!

Papmom - sounds like you're having some nice family time and having a lot of fun!

BB - are you close enough to your ex (geographically, I mean) to go and get your daughter if she decides she doesn't want to stay? I know so many people at the moment who are divorced/divorcing, with young kids, and are negotiating Christmas arrangements. Very difficult.

Getting pretty cold here but lovely and sunny today. I cycled in to work this morning and am due to go out for the day with my cycling group tomorrow. XNGF is staying with me for a long weekend and we have different plans tomorrow but get to spend Sunday and Monday together.

        Have a good day all!

          Good Morning Everyone,

Just wanted to say hi - made it through TG dinner with no AL - very proud and happy.

Lav - you are smart to avoid Mr. Lav - why subject yourself to something that will just make you angry? And, yes, you are still 29..........

BB - totally understand why you're apprehensive about Gia being gone overnight - guess it's something you will have to do?? assume he has visitation right?? Not fun, I know, but good for you to not cave in to al.

Marshy - how far do you ride? I'm sure you've posted, but I didn't catch it. Anyway, that's wonderful.

I also did not partake in the insanity of Black Friday - yuk - sounds like torture to me.

PM3 and Everyone who comes along - have a wonderful day.........

          Hugs,

Morning all - and glad to see everyone up so bright and early this morning!

Post turkey-day and sore as hell from running a 5-mile race yesterday morning. Great way to make room for all the food though, and had a really good time. Body just isn't used to 5-milers right now...

BB, I can understand why your concerned, but try not to spend too much time dwelling on the unknown. Hard not to run through all the scenarios over and over in your head, but 'what will be will be' as they say, and hopefully things turn out just fine.

            Have a great Friday everyone!

              Good morning!

Ahhhhh.... it is raining! I am happy because it has warmed up and it stopped snowing. The snow is soooo pretty but is a headache out here. Heavy and wet, lots of accidents. So, this is nice. Maybe I can get out of town tomorrow and visit my father.

I went out and bought a couple pairs of pants and some new makeup for ME last night. I am always putting myself last and realized I needed a few things. So, that felt good.

BB - Where is the ex staying? I thought he was in Paris? But it has been a long time since talking to you about him. Go with your gut. The 'mommy's' gut is almost always right. How do you think she would do? She has been with you all of the time. Very proud of you for not drinking after that conversation!

Hello to all the rest of you lovelies! I am running a bit late. I didn't get up till almost 6:30 this am. So, I have to get boogieing and get showered!

I am feeling happy today. I think those vitamins I bought earlier this week are playing a huge part in my moods. A bit of a 'lift me up'.

Have a good day! No AL for this gal.

                Hi Fabbies!

Pamina, good for you on your presentation!!! I still get nervous and probably always will, but I really like doing presentations as long as the topic isn't a yuk one for me.

P3, loved reading about your family Thanksgiving. It really is amazing how much less wine is required when people like us aren't drinking any. :H I like your idea about getting out the decorations and putting them "in the path" as a motivator and reminder.

Lav, thank you for starting us off today. Sounds like you did a wonderful job taking the high road. You are handling this situation with so much dignity. I will remember you often when I am faced with situations that make me want to act like a raging bitch or a 2-year old in full tantrum mode.

BB, It's good that you are open to a relationship for little Gia and her Dad. No matter how difficult it is for you, I'm sure it's the right thing to do for her. Good going. Also, good for you taking a pass on some AL after what I'm sure was a drink inducing phone conversation.

So Marshy. How's the new bed working out? _________________

AA, I should have ran about 20 miles yesterday to work off all the food I managed to eat in advance. As it is, I better step it up at Curves as soon as they open tomorrow! Good for you running 5.

AFM, what vitamins are you taking? Good that you are in a good mood. Hope the weather cooperates for you to go see your Dad soon.

I'm sure I missed people as I am typing this post over a LOOOONG time between skaters. It's Trophee Eric Bompard Cachemire this weekend. Young Florent Amodio in pleather chaps makes me wish I was 18 again. And probably a boy.

House is full of contractors fixing the stuff we had the big arguments over the other day. Mr. Doggy insisted on stopping payment on the check which is causing all kinds of angst. Not sure we should have done that. When he insisted, at least I was smart enough to say "then YOU talk to the decorator about it. Do not think you will be able to delegate that for ME to do." So here I sit.

NO black Friday shopping for me. And no AL either.

Hello to all I missed and all yet to come!

                  Happy 'day after' ABerooooos!

thanks for the kickstart Lavande, also happily unhung here in the frozen desert.

exercise? darn fine idea. I'll do a heavy bag workout today which is much needed.

had a wonderful AF gourmet pigout with Dx and a friend. just a nice cozy oink-fest

top veggie dish was a baked combo of: butternut squash, brussel sprouts and pearl onions.
it was topped with sizzling butter and fresh toasted sage leaves and toasted walnuts just prior to service. yum-o-matic.

                  be well sleepy heads!

It's only five miles to work, five miles back again. I really ought to do it every day. The ride with my group tomorrow will be about 25-30 miles I think, leisurely and with a long lunch stop somewhere warm hopefully!

OMG I had such a great workout at PF this morning!! The 30 minute express circuit is HARD!! So much harder than Curves in terms of muscle fatigue and you have attempt to do the repetitions for 1 minute in stead of 30 sec. I was definitely having fond thoughts of Curves thoughout the workout! The only downside is that the staff doesn't moniter the circuit-it's way in the back around a corner so they can't see it and people not doing the express workout hop on the machines so they don't have to wait for the regular ones and then they do multiple sets and pay no attention to the green/red light system. I asked one woman 3 times to get off the ab machine as I was doing the circuit. She kept saying one more set, I kept saying, no you need to get off when the light turns red and she just basically ignored me. I decided to complain to the staff who only apologised and couldn't do anything about it as he was the only one behind the desk. On another machine I planted myself in front of the guy and stared at him until he got off. I can see this being a huge problem when I'm there during peak hours on M/W nites and I can see where there will probably be a letter of complaint sent to the manager and many complaints lodged with the staff. Other than that 20 min on the Elliptical machine pretty much did me in. Have you ever tried that thing? OMG!! So despite the poor monitering of the Express circuit, I think I'm going to really enjoy going there and getting a fabulous workout in.
Oil guy is here now and when he leaves, it's cleaning time and bring decorations down time. Still haven't figured out dinner.

Chooch and Gia, I'm so proud of you for saying NO to the AL. That is fabulous and how good do you feel today?
Gia-good luck with whatever you decide on little gia and her dad. That's got to be so tough when he hasn't really been in her life and you two haven't talked in so long.

Lav-you did good too dealing with YB and putting yourself and your feelings first. And yes, you can be 29 for as long as you want no matter how old your boy is!!

AFM-hope you can get out and see your dad very soon. Good on you for splurging for some treats!!

DG-way to go with being assertive with Mr. DG and the whole stop payment thing. Hope it all gets resolved very soon so you can relax in your new spa type bathroom!!

AA-wow! A 5k? I'm just hoping for a mile by next spring! Way to make room for the turkey!!

Deter-what no garlic for the veggie dish???

                      Marshy-sounds like a wonderful weekend planned-enjoy!!

I did venture to Dick's sporting goods to return the cold weather wind pants my bro gave me for my bday. I just don't do low rise :H. I couldn't find exactly what I wanted so bought the next best thing and will return if I don't LOVE them. Didn't get to try them on as I had to rush home for the oil guy. The store wasn't all that crowded so I was pleasantly surprised. Of course I wasn't all that impressed with their BF sales so that might have something to do with it!!

Hello to everyone else who stops by today!

CHOOCHIE!!! So sorry I missed your post the first time around! Was distracted by men in sequins. And tight pants. Anyway....good for you getting through Thanksgiving without AL!! :yougo:

Deter, I still have (many) butternut squash here from the garden. Need to get cooking on them before they go bad. Will look for your recipe. Sounds delish! Wish you could come to my house and cook it for us! Or at least cut up the dang squashes that for me, require a chain saw. What's the secret for that?

P3, When you went to Curves did you use the SMART system? Your circuit workout sounds KILLER. (a good thing ) Too bad about the people not respecting the circuit though. Hope your complaints work to rectify the problem! (or your stares and glares!)

Marshy, is you bed bigger than a regular king bed? Link please?

Did I mention how happy I will be when I have my house back to myself???? Surely I didn't forget to mention that about 5,000 times.

Hey DG-no, the one I went to didn't have the SMART system. I had heard about it tho and I think it would have done wonders to keep my heartrate up and to work harder during the reps. Yes, this circuit is a killer and my butt hurts right now!! :H

Yes Marshy-link please! I've never heard of a bed bigger than a king! Of course, since my bedroom is basically a closet, I cannot entertain thoughts of ever upgrading to something that big. I'm sure my dogs wouldn't take advantage of all the space anyway!!

DG & Pap, I suspect kingsize is different here from the US. You say tomayto and I say tomahto and all that...

Here's the shop I bought it from.

Mine is a small superking, so 5ft 6in wide. The superking (6ft wide) would have been a step too far for the size of my bedroom. I've only ever had a double before (4ft 6in) so it seems huge to me anyway!

Gotta get back to work or they will never let me leave and get back to my huge bed!

What a day....good lord. I am so tired.

Thank you so much for all the support. When my Mom called me last night and told me he called I didn't sleep well at all, and that was the first bad nights sleep I had since I quit drinking. I tossed and turned all night and didn't even want coffee when I woke up. He has visitation rights under my terms, and as of right now I don't see any reason for him not to see her. Well, I have my valid reasons, but I'm keeping an open mind for her. The good thing is that I have a good lawyer and she responded to me immediately when she knew he was coming back into the country.

But the playdate today..good God! Those girls missed eachother, and they see eachother is preschool. They literally went crazy, and with the cupcakes and the all the sugar and sprinkles, plus the toys and clothes and their play phones, their mother and I just watched and did some guidance, helped with the icing on the cupcakes while they decorated then sat at the table and watched as the 4 girls pretty much tore apart the room and we cleaned it all afterwards. Now Little Gia is in the bath and looking pretty sleepy, an early night. I hope I can stay up for SuperNatural.
