    Hello friends,

AFM--I'm so glad your dad made it through the surgery ok, and hopefully continues to feel great. I talked to Terry yesterday and she sounds really good right now. She got to eat a Turkey dinner--hospital food, but I'm sure she is grateful to be able to eat and free of many of the tubes. She says she feels a little stronger every day.

Yesterday had its ups and downs for me. I had to deal with some issues with #1 son before we left for the in-laws. He is so stubborn and strong willed--but at least he forces a conversation instead of just keeping it all in and hiding in his room. The afternoon and evening at the in-laws was great too, but as the night went on, it kind of fell apart for me. I thought I might take off and go see my sister this morning, so we took 2 vehicles. My kids said/did some things that really kind of hurt my feelings, I finally got tired of that so I went in the other room and read my magazine and tried to snooze. Instead of telling me where we were suppose to sleep, my SIL just kept drinking and playing games with the kids. Her and her hubby and their 20 year old son, kept drinking, repeating, getting louder and louder. FINALLY when the bil got tired he asked sil if she was going to let me sleep in the chair all night. It's hard to explain, but I realize now why I really hate to go there. It's fine for awhile, or if I know where I'm suppose to sleep I could just go in the room and shut the door. I guess I should have just asked her, huh? The good news is hubby didn't drink much and he has been pretty supportive through the trials and tribulations we've been having with #1 son. He mentioned the repeating of stories, and I said how much fun it was sober, huh? Our 20 year old nephew has a terrible potty mouth and dropped several F bombs. Our #2 son (well, both of them) really look up to their cousin so the underage drinking with the parents and the cussing and some of the conversations were really upsetting to me--no appropriate for a 12 year old boy to hear.
Anyway, I'm venting again, and I always feel bad about doing that here, so I wouldn't blame anyone for not reading my posts or putting me on their ignore list.

I am very happy to be home now. The boys are still at the in-laws and #1 son will be driving them home this evening.

I am so tired, the party went on well after 1:00 am--the SIL and the kids that is. Loud, and I was upset enough I couldn't sleep. Hubby and I did a little shopping this morning (no black Friday deals for us) but I did find my Charlie Brown tree and some cute ornaments for gifts. I do not really like to shop that much, and I really do not like crowds, rude people or lines. I'd rather pay a little extra.

I hope those interested got to check out my new website. I can't remember who asked, but yes they do have a line of soy candles that are wonderful! If you missed and want the link again, just let me know.

I'm off to take a nap and watch the rest of the Husker game.

Hi LVT-that was me asking about the soy candles!! I'll check the site again. I have it bookmarked!!

I'm so sorry it was such a tough time for you last nite. How uncomfortable not know where you'll be sleeping!! I can't imagine not showing my guests where they'll be staying the minute they walk in the door!! Not that they have any choices as I only have a 2 BR house LOL! But still-it's just common curtesy and part of hosting overnight guests!! You can vent to us anytime you want LVT!! That's what we're here for and if it helps to keep you AF then vent away!!

I have a confession to make-don't get scared!! Remember how proud I was that I got rid of cable last month? Well, I just can't stand it anymore and I certainly don't want to spend the rest of the winter hangin out in my bedroom with the only working TV. So, I just ordered DirectTV. It's a good deal for the first year-more expensive than cable for the second year but I might qualify for more savings then and maybe my income will increase in a year. Who knows what will happen. I'm not happy I'm locked in for 2 years but I will get all the channels I want (including Planet Green-yea!!). It would have been cheaper to try to find a converter and antennaes on EBay for 2 TVs but I'm not real happy with the reception I'm getting with the bedroom TV-very spotty especially when windy out which seems to be the norm lately. So I'm biting the bullet and hoping I can still make ends meet. Certainly can't leave my second job now!! Must get that ebay site up and running soon. So, I had to confess to someone. I feel so weak willed that I can't live without the channels higher than local. If I think about it tho, I've had cable TV for over 30 years!! That's longer than I lived with regular tv before cable existed!!

Sorry Papmom, my memory is just so bad anymore! I love the soy candles--they are in the Aromatherapy line. I love Harmony and Sensual the best.

Don't feel bad about getting Directv. That's what we have. I looked at dropping our movie channels to try to save a little money, but I haven't taken that plunge yet. We also have Netflix which I love too, but their rates have gone up and the streaming movies don't seem to work too well because our Internet speed must be too slow. Which we could speed up by paying an extra 10 dollars to our satellite Internet provider! Everything costs. I think we will continue to see changes to all the home movie alternatives as more and more companies offer it. We like to rent PPV movies once in awhile on Directv. Enjoy!

thanks LVT-I'll check out the aromatherapy line.
I'm just feeling bad about spending the money-almost like it's a luxury now that I can't really afford. I'm sure I'll get over it the first nite tho!! :H
They're coming next sunday to install. That was pretty cool to get a sunday appt so I don't have to miss any work!!

LVT, I am glad that Terry got to have some turkey!! That is wonderful!

              DG, I went and bought: Cal/Mag/Zinc, B-50 & Vitamin D.

I use to take these vitamins religiously for a couple of years when I quit drinking. This combo works so well for me. I haven't bothered with buying any vitamins or eating properly since June and am really starting to feel it lately. A huge zap in energy and a bit of the blues. Just after a few days of being back on these and watching what I am eating; I am feeling better and better. I take a fish oil as well. I have been taking those as I have had them here.

Well, after I got a dose of shopping for me last night, I continued with a bit of retail therapy today. I bought some perfume, bubble bath, a new pair of hiking shoes, and new light pink silk scarf. ALL FOR ME!! Yippeeeee!! hahahaha!

I also picked up some stuff for Little AFM's stocking, and I got Big AFM some gift certificates at a particular store she likes for her stocking. Every time I purchase anything for my 17 year old she laughs - so - nah. She and I have very different taste. Although when I buy her something similar to what she has, she still hates it. So, whatever. Not worth the headache. Cash or gift cards are what they like.

So that is all. I did lots of shopping and it felt great. Without a child nonetheless which felt even better! I browsed and browsed and enjoyed the solitude while watching people do shopping of their own. It was fab!

Have a great evening all! I am gonna do the dishes (we had an early supper) and I plan on hitting the hay early and heading up to see dad tomorrow morn.
