Rabbit, rabbit, good morning.

I woke up to a snowfall this morning, what a great way to start December.

Chill, I loved your summary and wrap up of our month. We all worked on taking better care of ourselves, a must for people who are striving to be AF.

With all the holiday parties, celebrations, and expectations, we will do well to be aware of what we want and how we will get there, namely, AF.

Let's make this another month where we move forward.

Well, it's our first day of summer down here, but summer seems to be coming later this year.
Dig deep everyone, and planning our day's ahead, is very useful for staying off the booze.

I work in an environment where gossip is the norm. It is so easy to get caught up in it and join in. I often make conscious efforts to avoid it and change the focus. The other day one of my co-workers said she thinks our supervisor has a problem with alc. It really bothered me. She said it judgementally, not in a concerned manner. I didn't pursue it. Changed the subject and made a mental note to myself to be careful around this person.

I enjoyed reading the mission statements and will have to borrow because like LBH, I couldn't focus my mind to draw one up for myself. LBH, I guess your monkey has a twin.

Hi Friends,

Just getting early on this thread. Dill I love that quote. I carry it with me. I think people gossip about others because they need to make themselves feel better. This woman maybe has problems with the super, or is jealous, or something negative. And remember, if someone is talking about other people in front of you, it is not unlikely that at the drop of a hat this person will talk about you behind your back too!

Well, Star has snow today, I have rain & lots of it. Winds predicted up to 50 mph later - geez! When the power goes out later (which it will) I plan to decorate the Christmas tree

December Determinators - Week 1

Star - thank you for starting off this determined month for us, today is not going to plan for me and I just lost a long post :upset:

We had a storm last night and lightening knocked out my electricity and phone. Turns out the Internet transformer blew completely and despite me getting a new one this morning I can't get connected. It asks for all sorts of codes I don't know and I will have to ask McLibra to help as he set it up last time. This has really irked me as I wasn't planning on seeing him this week and I'm also furious I can't sort this out myself. So much for being an independent woman!

I've made it through the rain to my local bar where I'm drinking coffee while they put up the Christmas decorations around me. On a positive note today marks my 11 months AF and for that I'm beaming with pride

Hi everyone,

Do you mind if I join in now and again, I lurk on this thread because you all seem so poitive and upbeat and I'm feeling like I need to venture out of the Just Starting Out thread. I'll be 4 months AF on Christmas Day and as Chill said to me it's the best Christmas present I can give myself and I'm determined to get there.

I'm snowed in today and it doesn't look like there is going to be any let up until after the weekend. Nice chatting to you all.

December Determinators - Week 1

Hi everyone

:welcome: Dewdrop and Chief. Have not been able to get near the computer the last few days and miss MWO. We are completely snowed in and hubby is working from home. This bad weather is meant to last another week. It's ugh when you cant get out but have enough food for another few days and heat so it could be worse.

Looking forward to a major catch up when things get back to normal. Hope you are all doing ok.

After literally hours of messing with my computer and calling helplines I finally got through to a wonderful Portuguese man with perfect English who talked me through the whole set up process. Some of my equipment has been ruined by the lightening and will need replaced but for now I have connection :yay: without having to get help from McL. I also have a better understanding of what's what so feel like I achieved a mini victory today for the single girl

I was extremely wound up, emotional and lonely earlier and felt sad i couldn't be sharing how much this 11 month anniversary means to me. I realize how big a deal it is to me that this will be the last time I celebrate in AF months, it has to be in years after this and that seems like a huge jump from being the novice that I feel i am, to being in the big league, if that makes any sense?!

Chill you are doing amazingly well and eleven months is astonishing! Hats off to you. But why do you feel you have to think years after your one year aniversary? Hasnt the one month at a time worked for you through sticky situations? I am intrigued thats all. But you will do it because you are very strong willed in that department.

You have made me think about how far I have come in my AF journey. I know that I havnt totally abstained in the six months but the majority of those days have been sober ones. I have not had a hangover in six months. Incredible. I never thought this was possible. I use to drink EVERY single day. A bottle of wine a day and more at weekends.

Guys I am full of gratitude today.
