    Indeed! :H

DG--your night sounds fun! I can't imagine doing that sober! :H
Actually, I cant' imagine doing it drunk! I was telling Mr. D over breakfast this morning that it's hard to remember my OWN details for the part (the facts I'm supposed to know and share, and the clues I am supposed to give out if asked the right questions). And there were 20 people who had parts in this thing. And everyone - people with and without parts were all trying to gather enough info from 20 people to figure out who did it, once "it" happened.

One thing is for sure...I CANNOT afford to kill any more brain cells!

Chief, I was thinking about you this morning during my workout. Dont' ask me why. And not in a _________ way either - that is reserved for Johnny Depp! :h But anyway, one thing that has been priceless to me in my sober journey is to get connected and STAY connected to other sober people. I do it here and I do it at AA. Since you mentioned Rational Recovery on another thread, I will just say that for me, it hasn't worked that way. Trying to just decide not to drink and "just do it" didn't work. (doesn't mean it won't work for others - just didn't work for me). I have finally accepted that I need to be connected with others in recovery to stay in recovery myself. I think there are a variety of ways to do that. For me, even my volunteer work at the Mission keeps me connected because so many in their programs are either alcoholic / addicts themselves or their lives have been affected severely by alcohol and/or drug abuse.

Anyway...I'm not even sure exactly why I felt compelled to say that, but there you have it. What comes to mind when I'm sweating just can't be ignored. :nutso:

LVT, I hope the consultation goes well with you son. Good that you are exploring things that might lead to improvements for him. I don't know how you parents do it.

Lav, you probably would have had as much fun as me doing it! The organization whose party this was is a membership group of local independently owned businesses. If you lived in my town you could be a member, and you could have played my twin sister Angela. Even though we were "identical twins" according to the story, she was blond and I am brunette. So in addition to accusing each other of being drunks all night, we also accused each other of the drapes not matching the carpet. :H Could have been you and me having all that fun!!!

Well, off to the showers and then working womens lunch and family center volunteering. I love my sober life and that's why one thing is for sure....

Snowing again. London doesn't get as much as the rest of the country so it's not really affecting things here but XNGF can't get out
of London because of the snow elsewhere to make it to various appointments so she's stuck with me for another night.

Good Morning! Everyone seems in good spirits this morning! I did not get to check back in last night, as my grandson knocked a cup of water over and it went under the only computer in the house. My DIL and I will be getting this fixed later as she can't be without a computer because of school. Accidents happen! So this is my quick check-in from work. I'm now 14 working days aways from vacation. I'm going to Pennsylvania for the holidays and a huge family reunion! Will be fun and I hope there is a ton of snow!

Well my friends, I wish you a safe, sober, and happy Thursday! Will check-in when I can! I'll be thinking of you all!

        Love and hugs!

          good morning all!

don, good to see you. i came back over a month ago and fell back off the wagon about a week ago...i gotta figure this thing out and i learn a lot here. even if i don't always succeed, i'm gonna keep trying.

i'm kind of focused on my dog and kid right now...i take solace in the fact that puck doesn't know what's going on and he's just happy that he's eating sardines and cottage cheese (with flax oil). he's in heaven!
i called the principal of my kids school to tell (not ask) him to do something about this bully (who has a swastka and "white power" written all over his notebook!!!!). this kid has made my daughter's life hell for 2 years now, and his mother just blames my kid and defends her kid's behavior! he is shoving her, and calling her a retard, stupid, dumbass when she won't let him cheat off her in class, and basically verbally abuses her on an hourly basis. UGH! i have taught my kid to be a pascifist, but i would almost understand if she hauled off and punched him in the kisser.
          ok, rant over.

good reasons for me to stay sober (even if i wait til after she goes to bed to drink, i am not 100% if she needs me when i'm on a binge...DUH!!!).

have a good day dudes and dudettes.

DG and P3, here's what I could dig up on the revised WW plan. Raw food=good, refined/processed food=bad, exercise=good. No surprises there. A little tougher to follow since more is calculated (carbs and protein).

One key change: wine is now 4 pts a "glass" (anyone else interpret this loosely in their drinking days?), up from 2. HAH! So happy not to be wasting gajillions of calories there.

Okay, 30 mins left to get a run in before lunch. ZOOOOM :naughtfeet:

                      Hello All,

Just a quick check in. Been working all day and I am in a pissy mood so I will not spread the negative energy. But let me just tell you that the floors were supposed to be started in the kitchen today so we could have cabinets delivered for installation on Monday. Guess what? Floors aren't going to be started till MOnday. So where am I going to put all of these cabinets? I am so over this. This has been the status quo for this contractor and we haven't had a kitchen since the first week of October!!!

                      :damn::damn:

DG. I swear you get funnier with each passing day of your sobriety. I love reading your posts.

LVT, My daughter has ADHD with a big H. She is on medication but also takes omega 3's which are very good for the ole brain too.

Gaia, I have orders for a dexiscan and mammogram too. Need to make appointments soon but wanted to spread all of that joy out given that I just had a colonoscopy!

Peace,, does your daughter go to a public school? If yes, most states now have laws against bullying in school. I had issues with someone bullying my daughter. Document evey incident (date, time, where, what was said and/or done) and if the principal does not respond, go to the school board. There is absolutely no excuse for this behavior to go on and for your daughter to be treated that way.

BB, Ditto what DG said. A plan is very important. Particulary, how you are going to respond if people ask you if you want a drink and how you are going to get the hell out of there if the urge to drink becomes overwhelming. Also, in the early days of my sobriety, I declined many an event that I initially thought I was going to attend because I felt too vulnerable. So, don't be afraid to back out if you need to okay?

AA Happy to hear that the meds are working for you and your son. My husband also discovered that he had ADD in the midst of having our daughter tested. Medication does not work for him for some reason but does for her.

Chief, great to see you back. I recall that exercise and healthy eating was a big part of your plan before.

                      Hi choppersmon, marshy, gaia.

                        Hiya folk's,

Peace, there is absolutely no excuse for your daughter or anyone to be bullied like that. The bully must be taught to take responsibility, and if his mum won't do it, and if the school doesn't appear to understand or follow the process for these thing's, then the next level, or area/state education body will be equipped to take action?

You are an inspiration to me Chief, and alway's will be. Good to see you around again.

Well, I'm back. I have gotten diddly squat done today. My friend who has a son the same age as mine called this morning and said she was headed to the principal's office, so I dashed in to sit in on their meeting. He wasn't thrilled with the idea, I guess there must be a rule against not having an appointment or something. Anyway, the Algebra 2 teacher must have thrown a fit and decided to make up new rules for her reteaching and retesting the kids as they fail each test. It is not a huge issue for my son as we have already decided to drop this class, but it is for hers. It's a long story not worth repeating here. The kids are struggling enough with her class, and they ARE trying even if that is not her perception. You that don't have kids--these are the times it ain't so fun!

I stopped to see a friend for her birthday and we visited quite awhile, it was nice, we have been out of touch with our busy lives and all.

Peace--I'm sorry about your dog. You are right though, she's having some great happy quality of life time right now thanks to you and your love!:l Mom is right about the bullying. I know they have ZERO tolerance for it at our school. I have a friend that was having issues with her son at his school, but I think her visit with the administration got it nipped in the bud. Best wishes to you on this!:h

Lav--I think you should just pack up and move in with me. You can cook for us. Yes, that is a great plan for me. We would become great friends. But I suppose you might miss EB and your family. :h

M3, ewwwww..... Makes me remember when ya'll told me to fire that first contractor this summer. Which I did, thank you very much.

Now I'm wondering if I have ABCD.... Especially that smarter part. I was digging around in a closet and found some ceramics I bought for gifts... when? No date. I sorta remember the pieces - well one anyway. Was I sober? Had to be - they only have the sale at holiday time. Arrrrggghh.... I need to have a holiday sale of my own now.

DG, I think I would have been blushing playing the the lush part. :H

Chief, good job on day 2!

Gia, ditto 2 on what DG and M3 said.

Peace, ditto on the school needing to be accountable for maintaining civility. ((hugs)) for you and your furry friend. It's just part of it and doesn't get easier.

LVT... not having kids, I am amazed at how ya'll that do hold up in the heat of it all. Really amazed and with undying admiration!

Early night for greenie. I feel a bit out of sorts and have an eye twitch.

                                What?s Up Dudes???

Sorry I haven?t been around for a few days. I?ve had a huge project that I had to get out and I didn?t even have time for a good BM?. Oh well, hopefully things will quite down a little.

A little catch-up. I am now 47 days AF and dry as a bone. I?m averaging 3 times a week at the gym and am sweating my gonads off! I had an interesting event this past weekend. So, for background, my wife and I get together with friends usually one weekend night a month or so and play cards usually to the wee hours of the morning. During that time, me and AL would entertain the troops. We haven?t done that in a while. Well this past weekend was the first card night since I went AF. Talk about triggers!!! They were all around me. Most everyone was drinking. Someone brought some new contraption to pour wine through that is supposed to make wine taste better. Finger food everywhere. For the first 10 minutes I thought I was cooked. I made a pot of coffee for myself and one other person. After I got into the game and got my mind off booze I was fine. I managed to even enjoy the evening. I thought that was truly amazing!

Something else I?ve been doing is taking a load of Milk Thistle every morning and night. It is supposed to help repair liver damage. I am not sure if it really works but figured it couldn?t hurt.

M3 ? Hate to hear about the floors. We just finished having our entire downstairs redone in hard wood. It will take years to get all the saw dust out of the house.

Pap ? how?s the gym going? Sorry I didn?t have time to talk much in email the other night. I was on a conference call at the same time. I wasn?t really into it ? I love the technical side of my job and hate the business side. The position I got moved into last summer pretty much increased the business stuff about 10 fold.

BB ? How you doin? on the AF trail? This should be about 15 days I think for you. I look forward to logging on and checking out your avatars. They rival the pictures in ?Men?s Health Magazine?. I started subscribing to it with my new health kick. Mrs. IMJ calls it ?soft porn?. So to fix that I got her a subscription to ?Women?s Health?. That took care of the problem?.

I guess that about covers it. I am about to get into evening traffic and head home. I may check in once I get home and settled.

An ItsJustMe post of course has to have the famous ItsJustMe thought of the day: Life isn't like a box of chocolates. It?s more like a jar of jalapenos. What you do today, might burn your butt tomorrow?.

                                Take care all!
