BB Congrats on 30!!! Big accomplishment! Keep it going.
UNI- Much Kudos!! I agree w/ Choo....I look forward to being there too.
AFM- Glad you stepped up for yourself as far as not hosting the Christmas Eve Dinner. That would be too much during your time of distress. It's VERY hard for people to be vocal about things they don't want to do, so it's great that you have the strength to do it. Prayers are with you and your family.
Greenie- I see that silver lining: Less spending. But that will give you some catching up to do on holiday needs. And hopefully, your wallet will turn up somewhere at home or in your car.
As for me, having a great day so far. Went to church w/ kids, went to brunch, came home, and now slow cookin' some pork ribs for Sunday dinner.
Thanks for all your feedback on my best friend; She got to go back home today. And sounds like she's ready for the change. She's actually included in her vocabulary: "I can't drink". She usually doesn't like to picture that; wants to be a moderater like many of us wish we could be.
Went to my husband's work Christmas Dinner last night. Several people drinking around me. I didn't have any cravings and when I glanced at someone's drink sitting there on the table, I would tell myself, "I don't drink." Someone wrote that on this thread some time last week and it has stuck with me. So rather than looking at their drinks like a dieter looks at chocolate, I gladly accepted the fact that "I don't drink." The best part of last night, was the fact that we got out of there without a $50 bar tab to go along with the dinner tab. LOVE that part of not drinking!!
