      Jubilant January ~ Week 2

      Good Afternoon Jubilant Jewels,

Buenos Tardes from sunny 65 degree Barcelona!

Lav, :h:h:h for posting my picture. I think I shall find you a little gift from Barcelona. EB is soooo cute! Broken hearts everywhere when he's old enough to date. Maybe lock him in his room until he's 35. You can interview all his potential dates to see if they are good enough to go out with him. :-)

I am on a little break from work so I will make this quick for right now so my apologies for not addressing everyone!

Thank you to all of you who responded to my situation with my client. :l:h You were probably right. What kills me, though, is that this is my FOURTH trip to Spain, not my FIRST. But this client, named John, has traveled to China and loves loves loves to brag about his trips and his previous accomplishments. Well, I really don't give a sh*t about what he did in the past, all I care about is what he is going to do for my biggest client, because John has only been here since June. It turns out.....both of his employees, the Plant Manager and the Quality Manager, put their elbows on the table. So....hmmpphhh and PFFFFT is what I have to say about his teaching etiquette to me.:H

I love Spanish people...the way they dress, and they're so friendly. And the food here is to die for. OINK OINK is all I have to say about that.

Star, you always say encouraging words to me about my fitness goals but I'll tell you what, all my self-control has gone out the window since I got here in the way of food.

SD-YAY! The Packers won! WOOT WOOT.

Ugh...here he comes, I'll be back later.

Ahh....he left for the men's room. Didn't take a newspaper, though....darn, he doesn't know Spanish. hahahahaha

Cyn-I'm staying at The Best Western Mediterraneo.
I love you guys....you're the best!

          Jubilant January ~ Week 2

Hi JJs - EB is gorgeous Lav and he looks mischievious - I bet he keeps you on your toes!

Rusty so jealous of your view - I'm also envious of people who can do clever things like photos, I only learned to cut and paste last week, much to the amusement of my daughter!

Well its pouring with rain again but I've been to exercise classes and am starting to feel human again. It is so good to get back into a routine, I have decided I need routine - it helps to keep me grounded and stable (well relatively :H)

Need to go and have a shower now, you should be glad that we haven't got aroma vision yet!

Have a good start of the week everybody - Keep safe and well

Hi guys - just home from work and settling in by the fire, will catch up on everyones posts tomorrow.
Cyn I would love your list! I'm obsessed with thinking of every conceivable thing to do and cost involved with the move and I can't get my brain to stop, it's now causing sleepless nights. :upset: I will send you a PM with my email address.

It's lovely to hear you settled into city life, it's probably my biggest fear that I will struggle to like it.

Ha Ha ha :H. Laughed my head off! Oh Rusty you are helarious. Think I would have a ball in your company.

I will be the first to admit that sometimes I do read while sitting on the loo. :H

                  Jubilant January ~ Week 2

Chill you know I am sure that you will make wherever you end up a home and not simply a house to live in, I can only think of your space as being tranquil and peaceful and I am sure you will surround yourself with bliss. I think your ex will always have a place in your heart just make sure that you protect yourself from further hurt.
Rusty enjoy your time in Barcelona it sounds like you are having a ball, we are so envious.
Lav EB is simply adorable and looks like a little bundle of fun no wonder you enjoy his company so much.
Mylife I am sure that there are similar Buddhist Centres/Retreats in Spain if you google it you?ll find something similar that way you both win.
Papmom love the tsunami wave idea and I?ll keep that in mind and I?ll keep my fingers crossed that you get a big fat payrise
                  Cyn
sending warmth and light back to you, you must be up to your ears in it at the moment.
                  SD
sorry you?ve been having a rough time with the cravings but you coped that?s the main thing. Work can be such a toxic place at times as I?m sure Paguy
will agree, this is one thing I need to deal with in 2011, more of that later. Your ?young man? looks very charming and although he has given you a bit of backchat recently I?m sure you will both work through it. They do need to test the boundaries constantly as they grow.
                  Star
on the subject of sons just remember ?this too shall pass?, when I am in the middle of a dreadful situation that I feel I can?t change I think of it as the wintertime and keep thinking that spring is just around the corner, nothing in life is static it always changes eventually.

The parsnip soup sounds lovely I often add parsnips to a tray of roast veggies and have a bowlful with lowfat greek yoghurt, Rustop
the addition of apple with the curry sounds very interesting if you can find the recipe I would appreciate it. I made carrot & lentil soup this afternoon and it smells delicious, need to cutback on the crusty bread though as I am trying to lose the pounds I put on over the holidays. I?ve had a busy day today catching up on all the little jobs around the place and I worked out my budget for the next 3 months. I?m expecting a friend shortly she has a job interview on Wednesday and is going to practice her presentation on me so I?d better get going.

Hi to everyone else, too many to mention and too much to comment on but I do read everything and really enjoy all the stories and tales.

                  Dewdrop :h
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

                    Jubilant January ~ Week 2

                    Good Evening Jubilant Friends,

Hi Dewdrop, you are a wonderful addition to this thread!

Shelley and LBH....please check in, please....I miss you guys.

Chil...I moved 9 times in 11 years....it's one of life's biggest stresses next to a death and the loss of a job. I agree. Sending you strength.

What is it about guys and advertising where they're going with a newspaper tucked under their arms????:blah: I have a feeling that our Paguy, G, and mg don't do that. If you do, please don't tell us.... especially you, Mr. G, because it will blow my bubble fantasy of you jumping out of a cake for me.:H

Well, I think I managed to find out how to upload pics but my pic is too big. I'm exhausted and will say more tomorrow. Good night everyone!

                      Jubilant January ~ Week 2

I sent Shelley an email a few days ago but have not heard back, she may be on the road as she seems happiest when going from place to place, has some gypsy blood in that athletic little body I suspect. I have a lot to catch up on from all of you it seems, I loved the pictures of your children/grandson SD and Lav; your artwork, Rebirth; and your sea view, Rusty, I am glad you read The Shadow of the Wind, it certainly is steeped in Barcelona. What a beautiful day of meditation, Dewdrop, I am intrigued by the idea of something taking me from my ordinary reality but not down into a reduced state of consciousness as alcohol does but rather to a lighter place of quiet awareness. I think I feel that in nature sometimes. I too am thinking ?parsnips? and remember making Sooty?s soup last year; I think I roasted the veggies first and didn?t do the conversion properly but what I ended up with was really good anyway. PA, your suggestion to your partner was sensitive and judicious of a weekly experiment; Lord Bird Heart has always been detached but quietly supportive of my efforts, as a long term recovering alcoholic he knows my fate is out of his hands. I really feel for those of you who are struggling with work stress, Star, PA, SD, Dill et. al. as well as home stress (Star I want to throw you a rope). Sometimes there is nothing to do but breathe and make the best decisions one can. At least we know drinking poison is not one of them. Cyn, my deepest sympathy for what has transpired in Tucson, I felt like I was sinking through the floor (again) when I heard it unfolding. Mylife, you are doing so well, you keep doing whatever is working. Hi, G., Hi Sooty, Hi Chilly, Hi Pappy, Hi Rustop, I shall find you later. I had best be off for now as a plumber is on his way to fix the hot water heater pump, not a big deal thank goodness as Thursday I have crew coming to work on ten of my twelve pine trees?how can anybody have so many trees on a small city lot, it is a little forest and I am in there somewhere?.(Boo) Love, Ladybird.
                      may we be well

                        Jubilant January ~ Week 2

                        Good Evening Folks...

Rusty and Rebirth - the newspaper on it's way to the bathroom was really quite funny. Maybe a wee bit too much information, but funny nonetheless. :H

Lav - Looks like the weather forecast has been adjusted and I think we're only supposed to get up to 8 inches of snow tomorrow. That's much more manageable than 20+, isn't it?

Star - I know the situation with your son is stressful for you. A point that Dewdrop made ("this too will pass") is worth considering. My partner's younger brother lived in his parent's basement until he was 32 years old. He paid them no rent, charged all of his frivolous expenses to his mother's American Express card (which she paid), came and went as he pleased, had several female companions co-habitating with him over the years. He eventually got his Bachelor's degree, got married, has a daughter and is now an Executive Vice President for a Nursing Home and Rehabilitation company. So, he eventually found his way out of his parent's basement and became a productive citizen. Things can turn around - I've seen it happen.

SD - I am so clueless when it comes to football. You mentioned that the Packers won last night and I didn't even realize they were playing the Philadelphia Eagles - duh! There were lots of sad faces around the office today.

No progress this past weekend with my approach to having my partner commit to a 'drink free' dinner on Saturday. Our next door neighbor (who also has an alcohol problem) invited herself along with us to dinner so the 2 of them had a couple of beverages.. I'm not giving up, trust me.

Greetings to everyone else..... will check in tomorrow....

                          Good Evening All!

Quick check in before I turn in for the night!

Paguy--Yeah, you mentioned being a Philadelphia fan..I realize you said baseball...but I thought I better not rub in the win none-the-less

LBH--so glad to hear from you...You sound great!!:l

Dew--I really need to figure out my budget the next 3 to 6 months and stick to it!!! Do you use anything special to help figure yours out??? Excel or some type of spreadsheet or other program??

RB--we may just have the same sense of humor as well!! You, Rusty and I could be a handful I'm thinkin'!!:H

                          Chill--:l

Sooty--I totally agree with you on routine!! I'm a girl of routine...probably to a fault!!

Rusty--ready for some more pictures!! I have no idea how I posted a picture of my son...I had to go to the little paperclip and then find the picture in my iphotos...but had to make it smaller it said...then it ended up tiny...so I dunno. No idea what a photobucket is?!:H

Well...it's STILL snowing here!!! I'm mean c'mon already!!! We have what we normally get in a winter already!!! Not GOOD!!! Spring flooding here we come!!! If the plows come through tonight there is no way I'll make it to school tomorrow...at least until the guy that comes and plows me out gets here!!! Please plows wait 'till I leave!!

                          I'm off to bed...Biggest Loser tomorrow!!! I really need a life..heehee!!

                            Good Morning Jubilant Ones,

LBH-great to hear from you. I love the way you respond to people's posts...you do it in such a magical and whimsical way. I wish I had that talent. Ladybird, how long has your husband been in recovery? He sounds so supportive of you and that's wonderful.

PA-you didn't know the Eagles were playing the Packers. For shame, for shame, for shame (insert Gomer Pyle's voice here.:H) I really like your approach to handling people's AL problems when you're around them. You and your partner will no doubt have more discussions on that topic.

Shelley-I bet you're on your way to Indiana. We were going to hook up this week but I suspect she is in her car. Travel safely, friend!

This is a quick post this morning, guys. I'm working looooong hours through tomorrow. Then my vacation starts on Thursday!

Dew-I've never prepared parsnips but you have given me a reason to do so. Thank you!
                            Have a wonderful AF Tuesday!
