Thank you Dill! I do have to switch things to ?manual? in order to put the library books in there in the first place but it NEVER once occurred to me that I could LEAVE it there and still add new things from iTunes. What a techno-bozo. That is what friends are for here, often they help in the big picture and sometimes they just (manually) fill in my Swiss cheese brain. Good going John and everybody making decisions when the need arises that redirect their lives. Sometimes it is natural and clean and sometimes we just have to take a head on stand even when we are alone in deep wilderness. Thinking of you with fond regard, Ms. Chill. Hi everybody. Courage and peace. Love, Ladybird.

Jubilant January ~ Week 3
Good afternoon,
I know you don't want to hear this but just got back from an hour walk in the grayness of Indiana, snow flurries, dreamy sleepy afternoon...and I feel wonderful! Come inside, peel off a layer and make a cup of Earl Gray. I know it's because I grew up in the midwest and spent too much time in the southwest. I have missed this gray softness as opposed to glaring sunlight.
Bottom line is try to be in a place that makes you happy and right now I'm in one.
Lav, that spindle kit gift sounds wonderful. Remind someone to give one to me one of these days. I am still struggling (happily) to learn how to crochet something other than a scarf. My son is particularly critical of my "creations"! He refuses to wear anything I make.
Hey doesn't practice make perfect??
Rebirth, baby girl, I will be 61 this August. Had kids kind of late, in my 30's. Are you interested in a reliable husband? One of my sons is 27 and one is 25; both are brilliant and eccentrically good looking! R u available?
Guitarista, thinking lots about you. Many of my family were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Hope you and your family are safe and secure.
Must get cooking. Remember the movie Julie and Julia? Am doing the same thing, cooking every recipe out of a cookbook. This time a vegetarian cookbook by Mollie Katzen called Still Life With Menu Cookbook. Fantasies of Top (vegetarian) Chef!
Love, me

What's wrong with a boytoy rebirth :H:H
If only I had the nerve........
Shelley - look at the feature dish on Fatfree Vegan Recipes this week.
Spaghetti squash with roasted brussel sprouts & chick peas. That's what I making for myself tonight Serves 5 so there will be a lot leftover but that's OK
LBH, I struggle with technical stuff myself. I'm getting rid of my old cell phone next month & am signed up to receive the new iphone 4. I'll need my kids to teach me how to make a phone call, honestly :H
I started my online course today at the local community college 'Building Effective Websites'. If I do nothing else this year I AM going to resurrect my little website, make it bigger & more functional! God help me!
I need to go see if the roasted squash is cool enough to handle yet. I'll let you know how the dish turned out.
My daughter loved her BD gift! I can't wait to see what she comes up with
Sooty, lace making sounds very interesting too!AF since 03/26/09

Jubilant January ~ Week 3
Good Evening Folks:
A late and quick check-in for me tonight. This has been one of the craziest weeks at work in a long while. I literally just finished a huge amount of administrivia for work, including a 9PM conference call this evening and tomorrow and Friday are not looking any better. I did manage to take an hour break between the office and working again tonight and got to the gym so I had a nice run - helps to add some much needed balance and reduce the stress.
Yes, Lav, I heard the weather report today and we are due to get more snow on Friday morning. I just don't know what to say at this point. Ok, I'll say it - DANG IT!
Papmom - Are you OK? Haven't seen you around.
Greetings Sped, Rebirth, Rustop, Chill, Sooty, LBH, Rusty, Dill... and all who follow.John

Quick check in as well....very late here!!
Tough day at work...our city was the coldest spot in the nation today (we made the news...not cool!!)....however took my son to see a really upbeat musical production that was brought here...it really was amazing...it just went really late (for a school night)....so I'm off to bed. I'll catch up with everyone in the AM!
Nite all!

Jubilant January ~ Week 3
Hi Everybody!
My sleep schedule is all messed up and it's 1:15 AM here and I'm wide awake so I thought I would say hello.
Rebirth-I think you should take Shelley up on her offer to hook up with one of her sons. They are both very well-educated and you already know you'll like their mother. I say, GO FOR IT.:H Just think....they could brag that they met this exotic Asian woman on the internet and they wouldn't be kidding.:H
Paguy-Wow! 45 pounds you've lost. That's amazing. It gives me hope. I always learn so much from you....book recommendations....dieting advice, and yet, you are so funny. John, if you weren't gay, I would ask you out. G would be eternally grateful, for sure.
Papmom and Cyn-haven't heard from you. Hope you're ok.
Lav-I read on another thread that you turned 57 last month and didn't tell us. Your little gift won't get mailed to you until late next week, I'm afraid....due to my delay in getting home and trying to catch up on my work....I have not made it to the post office. :upset: Sorry. Shorn wool....how cool! What do you think your daughter will make with it? I really like Beagle....I read her posts on the other threads and she makes me smile.
G-I am so sorry about the devastating floods in Australia. When I was in Barcelona, they made the headlines every day. I'm glad you're safe.
Well, so much for my fitness goals. I've gained 5 pounds.....ARRGGHHHH. That's what I get for being so gluttonous when I was in Barcelona.
Sooty....I don't know how you can stay so upbeat when the weather in the UK is so lousy most of the time. I love England but that weather is so depressing. Good for you for being so positive.
Shelley....now I'm coming to Indiana April 11-14. You probably don't know whether you will be in Indiana then or driving back to NM. All I know is I got this great magazine that has a lot of vegetarian meals in it so I'll have something tasty for you to eat if you stop over.
Well, I should get some work done. I'll be back later.
SD-do you have green and gold rally beads for the game on Sunday? I have two pairs so I'll be ready. GO PACK!

Jubilant January ~ Week 3
Good morning Jubilants!
Just checking in and getting lots of chuckles and advice as usual!
Chill - I hope you're faring okay in the cold. I'm sure you'll be happy to get back to the sun -- and good luck with your sales. I had some UK visitors here last week and we had a cold spell -- they were a little disppointed to say the least but at least no snow!
Lav - I'm going to look up that squash recipe. I was just looking at a couple of squashes my husband brought home yesterday thinking "what will I do with these?"
Rusty - glad to hear you had a good time in Barcelona -- it's easy to eat lots on those trips! My husband and I are planning to go to Spain sometime this spring -- just for vacation. I'm sure I'll put on a few pounds then as well!
Rebirth, SD, and all others (this is a busy thread!) have a wonderful AF day!

Jubilant January ~ Week 3
Good morning gorgeous peeps
Lav and Rusty- You are right. Boytoys are very fashionable now. I would be called a COUGAR! And Rusty I dont DARE weigh myself as i know I have put on more than 5 pounds. i can feel it under my chin!
Chill - Best of luck today and I hope you get lots a great offers. Fingers crossed for you.
Sooty- Yes it's lovely to see the sun! I saw it the other day and didnt know what it was!
mylife- where in Spain are you thinking?
Sd - I am taking my son to a musical this sunday. cant wait. How old is your son again?
My harasser is still up to her tricks. Recently she pushed a letter through the door of a good customer of mine..that I am a drug adddict and alcoholic.Sigh. When will this woman give up. I am getting use to her nastiness and she is getting rather tedious and boring. I just need to pick up the phone to the police station and she will be in trouble. Luckily this customer likes me as a person and we had a good chuckle about her letter.
This incident has really put me off AA.I met my harasser through AA and she is angry because I left the fellowship. Purely that. It's a shame because I have met some lovely people at AA but I cant deal with this cultish type of thinking.Be strong-

Good morning kids!
rebirth, that woman's behaior isn't cultish - it's paranoid & delusional!!! Call the police & see what they can do to get her off your back!
Chill, glad you checked in although I'm sorry to hear you're not finding what you want/need in the sale of your jewelry. Hang in there, I know the days ahead will be warmer & brighter for you :l
Rusty, I celebrated my 29th birthday last month - I don't know what you're talking about :H
Jet lag sucks, takes me several days to adjust
mylife, that vegan dish was so good, you'll love it! It makes a lot of food......I bought the smallest squash I could find but still
John, don't overwork yourself friend. Afterall, you need that extra energy for shoveling snow tomorrow. I think I've had enough winter now :upset:
OK, things to do, chickens to feed & water, will be back later.
Have a great day y'all!

Jubilant January ~ Week 3
Hey Lav,
Wasn't it last year at this time when we kind of had a paucity (love that word) of posts, and as I recall you kept us going, do you remember that or am I having an imaginary memory?
Well, it snowed, lightly, all day and I absolutely loved it. Heard a lot of schools got out early. Can just imagine the excitement surging thru those schools. Snow days were always my favorite days to spend with my kiddos,at home and school.
Just want everyone to know, I am an excellent cook! But even good cooks make mistakes. I made curried pumpkin soup but my little pie pumpkin has not a hint of sweetness. The soup is spicy from jalapenos and cayenne, but feel like it needs some sweetness. Anybody got any ideas?
Sugar, apple sauce, chutney?
Am starving and waiting for Julian to come home to eat.
Rebirth, he's almost 28, 6 ft., 185 lbs. Sweet curly brown hair, brilliant green eyes, coffee colored Puerto Rican skin. Hey yeah like Lav says what's wrong with a boytoy??
I loved the snow today, walked in it, took pictures of it, loved just sitting here watching it fall. How many winters do you think I will have to go through before I'm sick of it? Guess it's going to be cold, cold tomorrow, highs below 10.
Just had a lovely conversation with my husband. We get along so well when we don't see each other everyday!
