    AF DAILY - Sunday, January 23rd 2011

    Good morning AF'ers!

    It's Sunday!

First, UNI and PRIDE...CONGRATS on 6 months!! The time is going by so fast. I am so happy for you both!

Second, I just saw MAGS slip a post in on the 15th thread. Mags, come and tell us how you are. I haven't heard or talked to you in ages!! Miss yah lovely woman.

Today it's cold, surprise! Little Gia went to spend the night with her Nana & Papa then decided she wanted to come home and called me crying so my Dad brought her home. Lucky we only live one house down from them, my poor girl missed me. She was so happy to come home, but did enjoy her playtime while she was there.

I'm not sure what's on the game plan for today here yet...who know's it's only early.

But I know one thing is for sure...

And DG love seeing you back. I miss your daily posts around here.

    Morning fabbies!

Gia, this kind of cold is such an uncommon event for me... I marvel that it is your everyday experience! You too, P3 - your snow pics were impressive compared to the dusting here.

Wind seems to have died down. Maybe I'll venture out for a letterboxing extravaganza somewhere if it's not too cold. One day in leaves me antsy.

    Everyone have a good one!

          Morning Greenie and Lav,

We get the kind of snow like Pap does...and it's freakin' cold today. It's about -15 right now. Time to put on another pot of coffee I think.

Lav, what's on the menu tonight? I need to bake a chocolate cake today. I'm craving one and I refuse to buy it when the ones I make are much better.

Good Morning from balmy 23 degrees Central MA :H !!

I too am preparing for a visit with my little nephew. My dad and I are going out to W. MA for a short visit as my dad is leaving for S. Carolina on Friday. I sure hope it warms up for him down there! He's visiting his sister for little over a month and last year he didn't get to play any golf until his last day? What is it with the cold reaching down south these days? Is Global Warming a myth? I think we're heading for another Ice Age! And if you don't believe me, look up the news story about cloning a Wooly Mammouth!!

Gia-Yummo O!! Home made chocolate cake!! Seriously girl-can't you start a mail order comfort food business? I'd probably be your biggest customer as I HATE to cook but love to eat!!

OK, gotta go hit the shower and get ready. Dad picks me up in little over an hour!!

              Morning all!

Another negative something day. I finally bought a space heater yesterday because my lower level was ridicously cold. When i plugged it in, it said the temp was 46! no wonder i was wearing long underwear under my sweats and a scarf IN THE HOUSE! haha.

Hot yoga kicked my butt again yesterday. I am just wiped out all day from it. I tried drinking a large Smart Water but that didnt help at all. I am thinking i need to start taking only the night classes.

another weekend AF! i am celebrating 2 weeks today sober! and i'm down 5 pounds!

Thanks to everyone here. Have a wonderful Sunday all!

Pap, if we're headed for another Ice Age then we're getting prepared. I think if I turned my cooking and baking into a career I wouldn't like it as much, then it would be a job. But, the chocolate cake is in the oven and I'm making the icing now.

BB, I've been eating more or less vegan all week because I can!

Today I'm popping a chicken (not one of mine) in the oven, roasting potatoes, etc. My son eats way too much crappy firehouse food although he does use my recipes when it's his turn to cook - smart kid He tells me about the food some of the other guys prepare - it's scarey :yuk:

Oh yeah, chocolate chip cookies in the oven too :l

Lav, I don't know if I could go completely vegan. I really enjoy meat and seafood protein too much. I very much LOVE a nice thick tenderloin steak (farm raised) on the BBQ medium rare with grilled jumbo shrimp, duck and lamb, chicken, ribs, I love fish and shell fish. I would cry to give that up if I had too, I feel better when I eat good cuts of meat. I'm not much for take-out either really. Your dinner sounds yummy! My chocolate cake is done and cool enough to put the icing on, I made that as well from scratch.

Morning all! Everyone here gets up so early for Sunday!

Mstall maybe you could take hot yoga Friday nights instead of Saturday morning. I find that the more classes in a row I take the more my body accepts it. Next week try drinking a vitamin water the night before and another one as soon as you leave the class. In what since is it "kicking your butt" like is your head just swimming all day or are you tired or sore? Maybe you could try Power Yoga, the room is 85 instead of 98-100 and it flows more. (love yoga can you tell LOL)

BB I think everyone on this thread would just love to spend a day at your house eating you wonderful yummy sounding food! You have a lucky little girl to be able to grow up with such good food, and she gets to live right next door to her grandparents to boot! My kids at 11 and 14 stopped wanting to spend the night away from home 5 or 6 years ago. I just let them go to relatives or friends houses until bedtime then I go pick them up, its the same as spending the night without the sleeping part! It works for us.

                      Have a great day guys!

                        Happy Sunday ABeroooos!

feeling a tad better here but still taking it easy.

Mstall, how many grams of protein do you typically get per day? that can make a huge difference and surprising how many people are not eating the appropriate protein/carb/fat balance for thier activity level.

I'm so glad to be home eating homemade meals. that's one thing about a hotel lifestyle that makes things difficult for me.

Mags, please pop back in! you big tease you

                        be well everyone

Thanks Det & Jenny, you've given me food for thought.

I have no idea how much protein i get, and i'm guessing it's under what i should because I eat very little meat, mostly chicken breast and fish and 3 days a week are vegetarian. I am going to start paying attention to that!

I am going to take evening classes this week, I think it will work out much better and I wont be exhausted and dragging myself through the day.

                          :thanks:

Good hike today! Except for when some guy's dogs jumped little doggie. :upset: Everyone was on leashes but his pulled out of his hand and they rushed mine, biting at her and I had to pick her up (OH MY FECKING ELBOW!!!) while they wrapped their leashes around my legs running circles and trying to jump up. What a fiasco! And she lost her little bandana. I was so calm I amazed myself. A-M-A-Z-E-D I just said "It's fine, I'm just going to walk on down the trail now, so why don't you hang back a bit."

MStall, you can get Jarrow Whey Protien Powder at VitaCost for a good price. Maybe take it on your vegetarian days. CONGRATS ON 2 WEEKS!!!

LAv just a little more than a dusting of snow here. It was so windy it must have all blown into the sound.

                              Hey wonderful Abbers!!
Before I go into a summary of my day, I have to add something to Greenie's post.
Greenie-it is SUCH a pet peeve of mine when owners don't control their dogs and the dogs attack mine!! I admit, I am not nearly as calm as you were and if it had been me, I probably would have added "FH" at the end of your sentance and it wouldn't have been under my breath!! Arrrrggghhh!!
So, anyway I got back from the visit with my bro's family a few hours ago. Boy did we have a blast!! They had the wood stove going full blast so the whole house was super cozy. I brought one of my dogs at my nephew's request. We caught up, watched some videos of my nephew on my SIL's Iphone and then had lunch. All morning long I had been wishing that lunch would be my bro's homemade vegetarian chili. I could almost taste it! And guess what???? It WAS!!! I was so happy I almost cried! They also made homemade corn bread. Oh, I was in heaven!! After lunch I showed my neph how to get Mickey to do some tricks and then I had him do it. He's a natural trainer!! After the tricks we played "find the treats" and Mickey didn't disappoint but he's no lab :H. Then we went down to the garage turned family room and set up a mini agility course. First Mickey went through the course, then Nate wanted to incorporate the Find It game so we did that then Nate decided HE wanted to be the dog!! Oh, too cute! I did bring my Flip and I got some great video of Nate and Mickey but I don't think my bro and SIL would appreciate me posting it on the net so you'll all just have to use your imaginations. My dad really enjoyed himself and since I got ready to go so early, I had an hour to do some chores around the house that I'm sure were what was waking me up in the middle of the nite. So, all is good-great visit, able to stop on the way home to pick up sorely needed dog food and bird food and I treated myself to a brand new snow shovel in honor of our upcoming 4th storm on Tue/Wed!!
time to put the frozen dinner in the MW and then try to hit the hay early so I'm fresh for a new work week. I must move out to western ma!!! that is all.

                              :l
