I'm just going to grab my coffee, have a quick shower and come back but wanted to get us started off. I think I have had an epiphany. I have spent so much $$$ wondering "why, why, why???, why do I think this way?".

I think the answer needs to be WHO F*(&&(*(* CARES and lets get on with not worrying so much about why but lets start worrying about living. I watched a movie not long ago that said get busy living or get busy dying. I think it's time to get busy living.

I completely agree. I've been having a shit last 24 hours. My fridge and freezer have just been emptied with everything outside in coolers on my deck. I have someone coming today to fix it, I hope. I also just opened my frontload washer and the security latch was not working, something must have froze and water dumped all over my floors over everything from inside the washer...fuck me sideways. Who ever put this curse on me I hope they burn in hell. So, another thing to get fixed when he comes back to fix the fridge this afternoon. Now, I did think of wine immediately, I'm not going to lie. I called my Mother and bitched, but I'm not going to drink. I've got your way of thinking Uni.. just get on with it and move on.

I'm going to bake cookies and enjoy them today..

No uni, not yet. Like you, I sometimes get caught up in the "why" of things. Sometimes I get lost and have trouble finding my way back. That and some simultaneous bad eating put me right out there on the edge. Serious drinking chatter going on. Not the "wouldn't it be nice" stuff - straight into "let's just get a good buzz on". Don't have white knuckles, but have a rather tight hold.

Uni, great to see you back and kickin' with that positive spirit. There was a time in the early days when I used to ponder (incessantly) "why why why" did I have to be an alcoholic? That thinking really was a waste of time for me. I hope you have a good day.

BB, it always seems that the appliances go at the worst possible time around here too. On the heels of the remodel ($$$ short) our dryer stopped working. Not happy about that, but nothing to do but replace it and move on. Tighten our belts in other ways. Good that you have decided not to drink over it. That wouldn't help.

Greenie, have you found your mojo? Since you mention that you need socializing, maybe that's where it is? I go a little nutty if I'm on my own too long. Have fun at the party!

Hello to everyone else from yesterday and everyone yet to come today!!

I'm dressed and ready for Superbowl Sunday. Flannel jammies? Check. Comfy sweater? Check. Hot Flash Necessary Tank Top? Check. Fuzzy socks? Check. Bra? NO WAY you must be KIDDING! I'm ready.

Still have to muddle with my accounting crap this morning though.... Oh well. That'll keep me out of trouble.

Morning all - well afternoon here now.

Productive day so far for me...been to mass and spent an hour and a half in the gym. I did some ironing and now I am going to run a bath and de-funk! (lol)

But - the best part of the day so far has been finding the 'decisionmaker' for a role I have applied for at BNP Paribas in NYC. Looks like she is French so she will be familiar with my qualifications (awesome!). There is a role in her team at the moment so I am going to drop her a line and see if she will give me 15 minute of her time for a chat! I know I can do this job - I just need the chance. I strongly believe you make your own luck in this world so I am about to go and create some!

Lav - awesome about the blue egg! I wonder why it was blue - it would be interesting to know.

DG, your day sounds lovely and relaxing. I'm not a big fan of watching sports, but I love the food that comes along with it. Plus, it's the weekend..toss the bra. I hardly ever wear one and go commando pretty much 98% of the time.

I went to an awesome AA meeting this morning. Speaker meeting and the girl speaking is someone I have seen about and she is the same age as me. OMG - I swear once I heard her talk that she is me. My life totally. She has walked in my shoes - I have walked in hers. I needed to feel that connection. Made life worth living for today. So glad that Tuesday did not end up the way it was headed. So grateful.
