Lav - Dill mentioned last week that she was having to cut down on her computer time but you are right we have not heard from the others in a while. Hope everyone is ok.

        Focused February - Week 2

Good Morning Focused Friends and Happy Valentine's Day,

I am still very sick with this cold and cancelled my consulting assignment for today. What's the point in infecting 100 people with this crud? No red for me today. Well, despite being dreadfully sick, I am delightfully AF and sporting a lovely canary yellow sweatshirt that a wonderful friend sent me. I bought some cute black leggings to go with it, and despite the fact that I am NOT the size I want to be, I think I look nice.

Lav, I tried to send you a picture of one of the chows that will be competing in the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show tomorrow night, but the picture was too big. The point of the story on this chow was the amount of grooming it takes to keep a dog like that lookin' good. :H And the expense! OMG!

Papmom-I hope the move goes well today. Please let us know when you have arrived safely.

G-thanks for the update! The floods in Australia were the top story on the BBC news when I was in Barcelona. I'm glad you're ok.:l

Cassia-I love reading your posts on the Daily Thread-such a positive force for so many here. How are the moving plans coming along?

Rustop-I guess you are the thread chauffeur this week, aren't you?

Where are Cyntree and Sooty? Check in, please! I'm sending PMs. Now, I'm worried.

Ok, off to get a script from the doc for this crud that I have.

Lav....are the chocolate chip cookies done yet?:H

Have a great AF Monday, everyone!

Rusty-You silly goose you! I'm not moving anywhere yet and certainly not to Ohio!! I was just joking that I would have to move there in order to be one of your doctor's patients!! In do hope you feel better real soon!!

Star-I'm so sorry about the incident with your son. You must be heartbroken after all the time, love and effort you have given him. Hang in there strong one!! I still owe you a sandwich post!!

John- CONGRATULATIONS ON 7 MONTHS!! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! I echo Rusty in that you are such a great friend and inspiration to us all!

So it's been a busy busy weekend and start to the week. I'm pasting a post I made on the daily thread:

So I had a blast yesterday at the Fishing and Outdoor Expo that also featured the Dock Diving. 2 of my friends who had never met came with me and we met my bro and my 5 and 1/2 yo neph (who will pointly tell you he is 5 1/2 not 5!!). He was soooo cute! He did an archery thing that I almost got on tape but wasn't quick enough, the catch and release and the mining for gems. Here he is with his "stash" that he got to keep and bring home:

So here is the best video of the lot. Forgot to bring my Flip but i think the Evo videos are pretty good too. Watch the handler getting his dog ready for the jump. It's pretty funny:

After I got home it was only 3pm and I was restless so headed to Lowes to pick up a set screw and some shades. My shades are pretty trashed and look horrible from the outside. Lowes was sold out and all those fancy cellulose ones were VERY expensive at 40-50 per shade. But wait!! The guy cutting shades said he could give me a deal on some remnants: shades that were cut down a little but now couldn't be put back on the shelves. I had my measurements with me and we were able to get 5 nice new white cellulose blinds for .................................................. .........
                    .................................................. .................................................
                    .................................................. .................................................

                    $5.00 A PIECE!!!!!!

I seriously feel like I won the lottery!! And I didn't even celebrate with a Whoopie Pie!! Well, not the real ones anyway-I did the Vitamuffin chocolate muffin top cut in half lengthwise with low fat whipped cream in between. Yummo and only 3 points!!!!

Today I had a very nice session with my therapist (god I can talk!!!) and an even better eye appointment. For a few years now I haven't been able to wear eye makeup because my eyes tear non stop until about 11 or 12 in the morning/afternoon. Not because of the makeup-they do it anyway. Well, this doc said that some oil glands we have on the upper lids were clogged and weren't able to do their job of regulating tear production. No one has EVER told me that before and I've been complaining about this for 3 to 4 years now (she's a new doc for me and a keeper!!). Warm compresses twice a day and increase my fish oil consumption to 2000mg daily and that should do it!! Not only will I be able to wear eye makeup again in a few weeks but I might even be able to wear contacts which I gave up on 30 years ago!! Whoo hoo!!

Finished out my day with trips to Petco and Trader Joe's (where I might have recruited a new WW member-do I get a commission?) and now snuggled up in jammies and waiting for Westminster to start (yep Rusty-I'll be watching right there with you!!).

OK, time for some healthy eats and then WOOF WOOF!!

Good video Papmom. Wonder how many times the trainer has fallen in with the dog :H
I hate spending money on things like shades - I'll remember in the future to do some good whinning when I go shopping at Lowes - good job

Rusty, Maxie came home with a cute bow tied to her collar - no tiara. She's been sleeping like a baby - I guess the bath was good :H
Take care of that nose now

No baby rumblings yetChill but it can't be too much longer.
Then again my daughter waited 11 days past her due date to make her arrival. Maybe my granddaughter has the same plans

                                Focused February - Week 2

pap and lav, a few years or more ago, I was using duck tape to hold my refrigerator door shut. It was still working, but the seal was so loose my springer spaniel would pop the door open and help herself to whatever she could get to. I had some time, so I started stalking Lowes. I would strike up conversations with the appliance guys, and before I knew it I'd talked myself into a 1500 dollar frig for 650:H

On a serious note, do you remember your dreams? I do. But sometimes not right away. And with my cough, quitting drinking, and taking every old medicine in the cabinet to try to sleep at night, well last night was a doozy. I was so tired, each time I woke up I took something to get back to sleep. benadryl, trazedone, tylenol PM, a perscription liquid cough med I read online is called liquid gold on the streets. That lasted from 11 pm to 1. Some sleep that got me:upset: Maybe it was too far past the expiration? Lav what is your take on meds that expire?

Anyhow, I had a private lesson at another pool than my base pool, and while driving it hit me I had had a dream that I drank a full glass of something, I think a beer, and I really don't drink or like beer really. I used too along time ago, when we lived in a state that only sold beer in stand alone stores, and wine was sold with liquor in thier own stand alone stores. So I drank beer. Had to glup the first one or two before I could continue. But I remember dreaming that it hit me as I was drinking that I didn't drink and I just blew it -- my count. I tried to figure out what to do, and the dream ended. I think it happened because on Sat. I was in a grocery store that was offering wine tastings, and I'd always try all the brands before going and buying my cheap brand. And it hit me as I stood there, that I can't sample the wines anymore. Hmmm. There was a beer tasting in the grocery store tonight and I walked by fine, but it was just that initial change in behavior that I had to acknowledge, if you know what I mean.

Crazy thing is, I smoked until I turned 40, and to.this.day I will have an occasional dream where I smoke and felt that horror when I realized what I was doing and that I was doing something I just don't do anymore.

God I hope I can sleep tonight.
