Hi All
I have been lurking on this post for a while now, & would like to join you. I havent had the greatest month, so I'm not counting it, but I am not going to let that get me down, I am planing a "formal fearwell funneral" to AL on monday, I have an empty wine bottle & wee box shaped like a coffin so instead of talking about all the things i like about AL, its going to be all the things I hate. then I am going to bury the wine bottle in its little coffin. which means i can start March sober & on the 1st, I want to do a complete month sober. I like the idea of formalising the death of AL in my life, anyway

Hey all

Witchy :welcome: Your farewell to alcohol sounds like a great idea! Have you also got a plan? When I quit one thing that really helped me was identifying my trigger points and times and planning how to avoid them. One of my biggest triggers was Friday after work so I made sure I had non AF plans for the first month. It worked out really well. I also found posting my plan on here when I had a particularly stressful two weeks at work kept me away from AL. Keep posting, particularly if we are having cravings. There are a lot of long term AFers - and I am sure you will know DG who just celebrated her 1000 days. She is a great sort of inspiration and encouragement for as all - I am sure she will give you some good advice to keep you right in March.

LVT - sounds like me with the Friday night situ. I had massive Friday night cravings today as all my friends are out and I was having a little pity party to myself. I went for a massage and then for a quick dinner with my hubby. Home now and feeling good.

Bear - a steam and swim sounds ideal...i hope your cold is better soon.

Uni - I hope today was better than yesterday - sounds like you dealt with it well!!!

Oney - have an awesome time at the meet up! I hope your bday is memorable!

Lav - I am sending my stork vibes out to the universe - hopefully she will assist!

Hey to everyone else!!!

I am feeling exhausted today - I think I have done too much exercise over the past few days. My back is sore but I can't work if it is just tight or if I have hurt it. The massage made it feel better so we will see tomorrow. Busy weekend ahead - decorating, dinner with friends and seeing my dad. No work though thank goodness.

Evening! And a breezy, sunny, balmy one here in the south..... Summer here sucks, but the springs are really something to see. Tulip trees are in bloom and the redbuds are popping out.

Witchy, I'm excited for you to start a new life without AL on Tuesday! I hope you are not like me and try to make up for it in advance. think I did serious damage

AF Friday!! February 25th

I'll take some of those balmy breezes Greenie -
I'm having 60 mph wind gusts here & the temp has dropped to 33, brrrr. At least the rain stopped & it did wash away almost all of the snow.
I'm wrapped up in a blanket at the moment because I'm too lazy to light a fire!
I think it's been too windy for a stork flight today.....

witchwoman, welcome! I made a big deal of pouring the last of the wine down the drain & vowing to never touch the stuff again. So far so good!!!!
It takes commitment, honesty & a good dealof courage I think - but we can do it!

LVT-good to see you again. I miss your posts! BTW-it is soooo thrilling to hear how well your boy is doing on his meds. Continued good wishes for him AND your sis!! That is thrilling too that she might be coming home at long last!! Pings galore going out to the midwest!!

Had a fish casualty last nite-"Flash" was belly up on the bottom of the tank when I got home. found out today neon tetras aren't the hardiest of tropical fish. Would have been nice if the guy at the fish shop had shared that tidbit with me . Went to petco and bought 2 new fish-yellow and black something or other. Mollys maybe. Bumblebee molly or tetra or something. very peaceful and hardy fish. In another month I can introduce 2 more fish and then that should be it for awhile.

Really looking forward to a real weekend for once. Tomorrow is WW and then PF for sure right afterwards and then I'm planning on doing my taxes so I can pay my oil company the $700 I owe them and get my car fixed (something about loose bushings). there goes THAT refund!! I'm hoping there will be enough left over to cover my agility expenses for the summer and a friend's wedding in October. She rocks getting married for the first time at 54!! Actually 6 weeks shy of 55!!

time to feed the kids and turn in early. didn't get to sleep until 2 am this morning (tried to do it just on 5-HTP alone). Finally gave up and popped my RLS meds and a benedryl.
