Marvelous Magnificant March - week 2

    Good morning guys

    Welcome to week two....

Thanks Papmom for the info on the L-glut, I will try two.

It's a public holiday here today, called Carnaval Day, the town has a big parade with floats and stuff and of course as always it's raining! We had an almighty storm last night, I have never seen lightning like it and all the power went off. My dog wouldn't stop shaking and I did something unthinkable for me and brought her blanket through and let her sleep on my bed! It was like the scene from the Sound of Music as I reassured her by telling her all my fav things

It's Rusty O'Clock (I like that "Chillism" ) here in BFE Tennessee. CALGON, TAKE ME AWAY! I have had insomnia so I thought I'd get up and shout out to my friends...I knew Chill would be up. Sooty, Rustop, Dew, Mr. G....where are you? I am staying at a raunchy motel but the best this town has to offer. The only redeeming feature is a full-service gym just done the road!

Chill-my dog shakes when it rains...he sleeps in my bed anyway, but good for you for being a nice Furmom and letting your dog sleep with you. Enjoy Carnaval Day, and I hope it stops raining.

John-I LOVE LOVE LOVE Granny Smith Apples with peanut butter. I had one yesterday! I think we were meant to be brother and sister.:l Thank you for putting up with my female talk. See, I obviously scared Mr. G away, AGAIN!:H

Lav-glad you had fun with your friend, and so sorry YB is still on another planet. Good for you for not jumping into the pity pot.

Ok, now, I must work. I'll check in later, though. You guys are at the top of my Gratitude List today.
And Rusty's previous post deserves to be posted again here as it is such a happy upbeat post with even a tired Rusty at her best :l Rusty thank you for your reminder, you guys are on my gratitude list for today too.

(oh and Rusty, just for your info for the MWO Daily News, im having lunch today with McLibra who i havent seen in a couple of months, i will let you know how it goes )

Congrats Papmon and hello to everyone else.

Chill - poor dogger - My dog isn't too fond of the thunder and lightning either!

I keep hearing about L-Glut - what is it useful for exactly, or is that for me to check out on the meds forum to avoid anyone's wrath?

EW - L-glut is suposed to be great at reducing sugar cravings. I took it for the 1st few months I quit and I definately didnt crave much sugar. Recently my intake has been out of control so im going to give it a serious go to see if the cravings go.

              Welcome, Englishwriter!

I have read your posts on the Meds forum. L-Glutamine is an amino acid that words splendidly for cravings. The best form to buy it in is powder....you can put it right under your tongue. It's tasteless, and it's cheaper than the capsules. With the capsules, you can unscrew them and put the powder under your tongue, too. I get L-Glut at Wal-Mart or GNC. Most health food stores have them.

                Thanks Chill and Rusty,

I have been craving chocolate like a mad-man but didn't associate it with being AF - is that what is causing it?

YUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're going to have those for awhile. Many people who have been AF for 2 years or more still deal with sugar cravings. I crave sweets and grease.....french fries, and CRISPs, as you would say. L-Glut and Baclofen keep the cravings at bay.

Oh I am crazy for cheese and crisps and chips and all sorts. Hmmm, never associated the two.

Will have to check out L-Glut and Baclofen.

                    Cheers,

                      Good morning to all,

Papmom, congrats on 10 months. I know from reading your posts that you have changed your life, turned it around completely. You are now truly LIVING!!!!

Chill, thanks for posting the new thread. You asked about the sensitivity to food. I know that while drinking, I was always struggling with digestive issues of some sort. Yuk. Now, if I eat sensibly, I feel healthy and have a low key normal digestive process. So, yes, my body is working the way it should, and I like to feel healthy.

Rusty, I also get up so darn early, and just go with it if it is 4:00 a.m. or after. Coffee and computer. What is the temperature in Tennessee. It should get up to almost 50 degrees, and I am craving warmer weather. My mood has been better with a little sunshine and warmth, 30s instead of teens.

I have some L-glut, I will take some and see if it helps with the food cravings. Some things just set it off, exactly like alcohol. It must be associated with the blood sugar thing.

John, I am going to Florida on Friday too. But not to run a marathon. Hope we get good weather.

For Lent, I like to do something, like go to church every Sunday, or something positive. I usually give up chocolate except for the few birthdays, anniversary, stuff like that. I like the positive actions, rather than the sacrifice part. There is something rewarding about the whole Lenten giving up meat on Fridays, fasting etc. However, I would end up cooking something delicious like perogies, fish, and then it would end up not being a sacrifice. So, I can just go simple. Oh, a great lenten meal: a grilled cheese with honey mustard, avocado, tomato, and red onion. See what I mean? How is that a sacrifice!

Good that we are all thinking about our lives and how to do better and be better. Good for us.

                        Good Morning Friends:

My goodness, this is already a busy thread this morning!

Chill - My dog is absolutely petrified of thunder and lightning. He barks, shakes, and runs around the house like a lost little soul. I always feel so sorry for him when storms roll through.

Star - Your grilled cheese sandwich with honey mustard, tomato, avocado and red onion sounds delish. I haven't had my breakfast yet and now I'm thinking of lunch Hey - I saw the weather forecast in Sarasota for Sunday and it's supposed to be sunny and 75 degrees - YES!

Rusty and others - I really need to give the L-glut a try for my sugar cravings. I can only eat so much yogurt, apples and peanut butter, right?

Papmom - CONRATULATIONS on 10 months AF!!! Awesome job - you should be very proud of yourself....

I guess I need to start thinking about getting prepared for work today.

Hope everyone has a great day...

Okay so John and Star - I am totally jealous that you guys are going to Florida! Have fun in the sunshine!

Star - your grilled cheese idea sounds delicious! I'm always looking for new recipes to try. John - BTW - I absolutely love apples and peanut butter (probably more PB on the apples than I'm supposed to) and yogurt!

Mornin to Chill, EW, Rusty, and anyone else who drops by this morning! Hope everyone has a super Tuesday!

                              Morning Jolie, John, and Star!

I've only recently become a PB fan - although I love peanuts, the PB always seemed to be a bit much, but now I can't get enough of it!

I'm hungry now...have got nothing in as the new fridge freezer won't arrive until next Tuesday, so may have to head to the shops.
