Marvelous Magnifcant March - week 3

Hello Marvelous Ones and Happy Friday!

So nice to see Shelly and Cyn again - welcome back!

For those of you who believe in unusual happenings that coincide with a full moon - tomorrow's full moon is called a 'supermoon' as it is the closest it's been to earth in 18 years! They say it will appear 7% larger than normal! We had all sorts of weird things going on at work these past 2 days - printers and fax machines not working and electrical problems that trapped one of my employees in an elevator for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Beware of your surrondings my friends!

Speaking of supermoons, that reminds me of 'moon pies' which our friend, Papmom, talks about. Where are you Papmom? I haven't seen you around. Hope all is well on your front.

I am feeling very relaxed this Friday evening and grateful that I have a weekend ahead of me. Planning to run a 5K race on Sunday.... these legs just don't want to stop running.

Rusty - We officially declare the Christmas season to be OVER. Get those decorations down. If you still have some mistletoe hanging around - well, maybe you could entice G to stop by for a visit :H

Wishing you all a peaceful evening and delightful weekend....
    John

I have French tarragon in my herb garden - love it
So good with chicken dishes (cooked chicken that is) :H I also drop a few springs into a bottle of white wine vinegar - great flavor!
Dill, did your mint survive the winter? My chocolate mint did, it's on the way back.

      75 degrees today, nice
The weekend is not supposed to be so wonderful but what can you do?

Shelley - tomorrow it goes back to the 40's, brrr! glad you are doing well!

I don't remember if I mentioned before but if you go to the Chopra Center website you can get their Mantras & Meditations inspiration collection free (you just pay shipping). Mine arrived a few days ago - it includes a 2011 mantra callendar & a guided meditation DVD. I'm going to plug in the DVD now & just chill for a while

Hope everyone has a great evening!

        Good morning everyone

Another beautiful morning here. We had a magnificent moon last night too, thanks for the warning John.

Have been up early as had to take my daughter to the train. She is going to some Maths lectures in Trinity for the day. Am planning on a long walk with a friend in a while so just having my coffee and catching up on the posts.

Welcome back Shelly and Cyn. New members keep on checking in. This is a busy thread so dont be put off, we love hearing about your journey.

Going to a comedy show tonight with hubby. I made a rule last summer that we go out one Saturday night a month. I have to book something though, otherwise the teens and their plans take over. This month its a comedy show, next month we are going to a 70th birthday party. Not sure what will happen when the fishing season starts, I could be going on my own!! I drive so Al is not even an issue and I can enjoy my nights out and even better feel great the next morning.

Have a great AF Saturday everyone.

Super Saturday and good morning to all!!

Sped, so great to hear from you!! I have been thinking about a new job for some time, I guess with the economy and my own issues, it was just not the right time in the past. Now, things are better, my husband has a steady job, and my son is more stable, so I only have myself to consider. My son obtained a job, he has had it for the last six weeks and is doing well. He is taking a class and has a plan he has been working on with help from staff at the school. Now, he just has to follow through. So, since he works afternoons, I do not see him much, as it should be at his age. Are things perfect? No, but definitely better and bearable.

Today I am going on a day trip with collegues with a possible job related idea. So, it will be interesting and something new. The weather is so so, but anything is better than below zero and snow. Last night we tried to go for a walk, and after 20 minutes, were freezing, as it was in the forties. Last night we went for fish, and had to walk through a bar area, ugh. The smoke and loudness were not appealing to me. I had iced tea and felt kind of righteous, I hope I am not turning into an annoying nondrinker.

PAguy, I've never heard of a super moon. How interesting. Nothing really odd for me yet. But, I will be on guard. Have fun at your 5K.

Dill, you sound well, so keep on posting, it is always great to hear from you. My husband wants to get a boat, it it really expensive?

To all, have a great day. AF of course.

            Good morning my friends
I woke up feeling amazing today, maybe its the super moon effect but whatever it is Im going to enjoy it! Been for a long walk with the dog and now im going to do some yoga before I meet a friend for coffee. Its 70f+ today and the sky is the most magnificant blue. This is a good day to be alive and especially alive and sober! I LOVE BEING SOBER :h

Lav - I love the meditations from the Chopra centre although I cant get these ones shipped over here. I have just subscribed to their radio show on itunes.

              Good Saturday morning Marchers!

Chill, the Chopra DVD was very nice, wish I could get one for you
The super moon had me feeling crazy for a few days this week but I'm better now. I listened to a show about it on Hayhouse Radio & that helped quite a bit!

Star, good to hear that your son is moving forward! About time, huh?

John, have you given any thought to what you want to do when you retire?
There is a dairy farm for sale a few miles down the road :H We could be real neighbors :H

              Good morning Rustop & everyone!
Have a great day one & all.

                Good Afternoon Marchers,

I just wanted to let everyone know you won't be hearing much from me for awhile. I'm taking a break. I need to focus on my recertification exam and some personal commitments. Wishing everyone AF-ness.

Finishing up a very busy and beautiful day here in PA. Got lots of weekend errands done, shopping, cleaning, gym, organizing (getting ready for taxes), library stuff. I feel like the energizer bunny today and I could keep on going. But, I need to unwind, relax, and get a good nights sleep in prep for my 5K race on Sunday morning.

Chill - I agree with your sentiments exactly. I am so happy to be SOBER! There is no way I could have had such a productive and enjoyable Saturday 10 months ago. This really is the best.

Lav - I have to admit that being a dairy farmer is not high on my list of things to do once I retire :H Although, we do have farming in my our family as my mother grew up on a farm in New Jersey. What if we plan to meet once a month for lunch? That way, I won't have to get up too early to milk the cows :H

Hi Mario - Nice to see you here.

Rusty - Study hard. We will all be here when you're finished with your certification exam. Good luck with the preparations.

Star - You sound so together and content. It really comes across in your messages. Good for you!

Got a glimpse of that beautiful full supermoon early this evening as it was rising above the horizon. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of it now.

Well, folks, hope you all have a peaceful evening..

Good morning everybody. And isn't the moon wonderful? I'm hoping for clear nights so that I can get out with my dad's old binoculars and have a really good look.

It looks like it might be a fine day today and I've been invited by an ex colleague to go for a walk - it won't be a cliff walk but it will be pleasant.

My mint didn't survive the winter but the sage seems ok and the chives are really coming back strong now. The daffodils are out everywhere - and how I just love them.

Have a really good Sunday gang, catch you later.
                        Take care

                            Good morning to all...

Chill, you are so right, better to be a nondrinker anything than a boring drunk!! And they did look old, worn out, and LOUD. Whew. I am also very happy to be AF, what a difference it is making in my life. I feel so much healthier, less emotional and more stable. I guess peaceful more often and just happy.

PAguy, I checked out the moon last night and it was so amazing and beautiful. What a lovely gift on this, the first day of spring.

Rusty, we will miss you, take care of yourself. I usually get on for 15 minutes to a half hour while drinking coffee in the morning. My husband always has bad TV on, and this is a way to connect with others while protecting myself from car crashes, tits, and murders. So, I will be sending you positive throughts and energy of knowledge, and divine right order. You will do well, you are studying all along and the material is getting time to process in your brain. Plus, you are in a good place with your AFness and health.

I had an interesting day yesterday. Road trip, need lots of money to do what we want to do, so it will not work out. I refuse to take that type of a risk at this time in my life. But, it was fun,and the women I was with were great. We shopped a bit on the way back, laughed and were goofy. I love going to a book store with other book worms, nerds. We took our time, browsed, it was great. Later, went out to dinner with my husband and son, overate, and came home and read a new book. Does it get better than that?

Something kind of sad, my really good friend of many years has breathing problems, probably emphasema (sp) due to smoking cigarettes. I knew it, but to hear her admit that she can't keep up due to health reasons and being able to breathe made me sad. I know she will never quit smoking, no way. It is her life. She smokes about every 15 minutes, all day. I think for some it is the same with drinking alcohol. They will never quit, just keep doing what they are doing till they die. I am so thankful I am AF and NF, grateful that I found this site and learned and used the strategies offered. Finally, it took me some time. I just think we get better at being AF and NF over time.

The one thing left is my weight and regular exercise. This week I am focusing on salad and soup, for lunch and dinner. Also yogurt, I am into those Chobani greek fat free delicious little cups.

I have alot to do today, laundry, shopping, job seeking, cooking, and AF is the only way to go. Everyone, have a great day.

                              Hi Everybody,

Just wanted to check in and say hello and tell you I miss you already.

Star-thank you for your kind words.:l This site is so darned addicting and staying away from here is a helluva lot harder than giving up AL!:H You asked Dill if boats were expensive and Star, I think the world of you and I'll brutally honest with you....don't buy one unless it's a rowboat or something that doesn't require maintenance. There's a saying that says the two happiest days of a boat owner's life is the day they buy the boat and the day they sell it. You have been wonderfully honest about you and your husband's financial situation, and a boat, although it sounds wonderful, is probably the last thing you want to buy. I love them....I love powerboats, sailboats, jet skis/wave runners...all of them. I grew up on a lake and we had boats and they're a blast...but only if you have lots of discretionary income. Give it lots of thought before you get one. Maybe a paddle boat? You and your husband could paddle around together and it's good excercise. I'm glad your son found a job, and I hope it lasts. Also, good luck on your job search. I'll be thinking of you.

Rebirth-you asked about the HCG diet...it's hard to explain but essentially, you get these sublingual (under the tongue) drops you take every day and then you are limited to 500 calories per day. My doctor says I should lose a pound a day. We'll see.

Thanks, you guys! I love you and please don't forget about me. I need you.:h Send PMs when you have time so I don't get lonely.

G-I am sure you are relieved.:H

                              xoxoxo

                                :yay: Happy Spring Marchers!!!!

Why are the weather idiots predicting a rain/snow mix for tomorrow morning?????

John, I remember you mentioning your 'farmer genetics' previously - thought maybe I'd tease you a bit
That dairy farm is a fairly sizeable operation. They pretty much go 24/7 - ugh :upset:
I do love to drive by though & see the 'girls' out grazing in the fields!

Rusty, my neighbor has had his boat parked in his driveway for several years because he can no longer afford to put gas in it!!!!!! What a shame really! EB likes to walk over & see 'Bob's boat' when he's here :H

Six more day until my 2 year AF anni. - unbelievalble how much has changed in my life! Yesterday was my 22 month NF anni, that is even more amazing to me because the last 100 times I quit it didn't last long :H
I don't care how addictive these websites are because they are definitely helping me to keep my quits & I've collected such a wonderful group of friends :l

OK, time to get something done today - not sure what but I alwyas figure it out!

                                Have a great Spring Day!
