Evening all,
Been working lots and gardening. Not spending much time on the computer, which for me is a good thing.

Dill, think I told you that my son went to Tulane University so we spent lots of time in New Orleans. My mouth is watering just thinking about the food down there, all that gumbo and jambalaya!!

John, sorry you are sick. GI stuff is the worst. Plus impossible to work out when feeling that way. Congrats on the new addition to your family. I love boys. Speaking of which... Star hang in there. know what it's like to live in a houseful of testosterone. With 3 boys and a husband, I had years of feeling outnumbered.

Lav, your description of your dinner with YB sounds wonderful. Any chance of your getting back together? You are so lucky to have your family nearby.

Cyn, I've got all of my tax stuff (plus my in-laws) laid out on a table. We have someone do our taxes but just collecting everything is a pain. You sold your house? Are you still in the southwest?

Papmom, feel better soon. Are you in New Hampshire? Good luck with the job interview.

Hey All!
Oh Chill that avatar is hysterical!! I love it!! so sorry about the conversation with your ex. Maybe you just needed to break down for once. You've been so stoic with him most times. You know what tho? Even if he could give you back the life you had before, you wouldn't want it!! You have found so many more riches over the past year. You're sobriety which wasn't part of your life together if I remember correctly, your love of nature, your calm inner spirit, you're appreciation and compassion for others, your new found work skills. None of this would be in your life if you 2 were still together. Keep on loving him, he's a good man I think but rejoice in your life as it is now.

John-my small tummy bug only lasted a day. I felt much better today so I hope tomorrow you will be back to normal. Lots of tea helped me i think.

Lav-glad you had a great time with EB. Hope those chickens got to bed ok!! Please ask the snow to go away!

Sped-I'm in MA. Thanks for the well wishes. I'll keep you all posted. I'm jealous you get to garden right now!!

Cyn-I would not want to have the tax work you have to go through!! I find it hard enough to do my own simplified taxes!! Good luck!

Sun-have a GREAT time in Disney!! You can do it AF-you go girl!!

Good morning on this cold Friday. Woke up yesterday with the ground covered in snow. I am not kidding, but it melted during the day. That's March. I didn't post yesterday as I didn't have the heart, but today is a better day.

Chill, good that you let him know your feelings, he is human too, and it is a shame things did not work out. If he is drinking he is suffering, as we all know. I think the fact that you two are still legally married says so much...... I appreciate your journey and the positive changes you have made in your life. You are an inspiration to me and a huge influence in my journey to be AF. Good to know your job is going well and you are continuing to pursue your interests in healthy and peaceful living.

PAguy, sorry you are ill, lots of stuff going around in my neck of the woods too. Get better and rest if you can.

PApmom, have a funfilled weekend. How exciting about the job opportunity.

Cyn, thanks for sharing a bit about your AF journey. AF, we are all so much stronger and are able to handle all life throws at us.

Sped, I do know about being outnumbered, love men, and have my little posse of females to empower myself and not get overpowered.:H Keep on doing what you are doing, you sound as if you are on the right path.:h

Lav, the first thought that popped in my head regarding YB was, hope for the best, plan for the worst. Good you have your kids around and grandkids.

Big weekend for me, anniversary and birthday coming up. It will be AF for sure. I don't want anything materially, just maybe a dinner out. I am very reflective and grateful for all the good things in my life, mainly relationships that are filled with love. If I drink, I avoid people more, isolate. Now, I don't have to hide or put anyone off. It is very freeing. An older famly friend has a terminal cancer diagnosis, and it is so sad. He has already suffered so much, but it is hard for all of us who will be left with this hole in our lives. Lots to think about. How do I want to be at the end of my life; to have regrets, or to be able to do the life review and say that I have lived my life well. AF it will be looking at a life with honesty, integrity, all the good stuff. Drinking, it will be a life of sadness, wanting to do things over.

Sun - Jealous! I would love to be going to Disney right now - haven't been since I was a kid - and that was a long time ago Have fun!

Star happy birthday/anniversary to you! Did you actually get married on the same day as your birthday? Just wondering - my sister and her husband got married on his birthday - now as for myself, I would like to keep those 2 celebrations separate:H

Cold here - snow predicted But hey - it's Friday and my Fridays are just getting better and better. Probably stopping by the redbox for a movie tonight - anyone got any good suggestions? Don't like anything too violent with blood and guts but have to make hubby happy too.

Thanks, folks for the get well wishes and vibes. I fell like I woke up from the dead this morning and am feeling much better. Yesterday is a big blur right now.

Sunbeam - I am quickly approaching 57, too. My big day is in May. Doesn't seem possible to be this old (or young?), does it??

Papmom - Thank you for the reminder of where I am and how far I've come, I am truly grateful for everything I have experience and your observations are spot on.

Sped - Im back in Portugal "for now" I've decided if I take care of now then the Universe will take care of the rest! You sound in good spirits, are you still doing your running?

Star - Yes he's drinking & suffering and only needs to ask and I will help but whether that day will come I dont know. I think the best all of us can do is live by example. You are aptly named these days, you are an absolute "Star", how much you have grown in such a short time, your positive attitude oozes from your posts. How we reflect back on our lives is interesting and like you I want to have lived it well, learned from my mistakes and be a better person than I used to be.

Jolie - talking of movies, I watched Leaving Las Vegas the other night (my continued need to learn all I can about this addiction) I had never seen it before and it really affected me. To find dying easier than the pain of quitting broke my heart. On a lighter note I can really recommend the Kings Speech if you havent seen it.

Rusty - if you are lurking out there can I just say that we had a secret thread vote and you lost so you have to continue checking in with us :H AND if you dont, I might try to lure Mr G in my direction without you're heavy competition

Hello all and a very happy Friday. We've had another beautiful spring day so I've been out and about doing bits and pieces, shopping, washing, bit of gardening.

Going for a walk on the cliffs tomorrow - hip hip!

Chill I'm not at sure about that dog, its really freaky - mind you it is very funny.

Thats 2 of us on holiday - Sun to Disney and Dill to New Orleans. Hope you both have a lovely safe AF time.

I've got to go and make dinner but I'll be back later to check up on us all

Like Sooty, we have had a fabulous day here. It is meant to get colder but for now I am enjoying the sunshine.

John - Glad that you are feeling better and that is was only a 24 hour bug.

Chill - I guess your ex does know that you are there and as you said you can only lead by example. He will change only and if he wants to. Love the picture of the yoga dog by the way.
