Marvelous, Magnificent March - Week 5

    Morning everyone,

Cold and damp here but like you said Lav - no snow (hopefully). Didn't someone suggest a name a week or so ago? Obviously I can't remeber what it was but I know someone here will. Still can't believe how quickly this month went by considering it's a long one.

Star - we recently painted (or I should say hubby painted - I'm not allowed to touch a paintbrush in my house) - our bedroom. I too am in a re-decorating mood. My kitchen is next on the list - outdated since house is 20+ years old. Can't wait for that renovation.

Papmom - the actual name of the medicine was "restless leg syndrome". Wish he would have taken it so I could tell you if it works. Seems to affect him more in the summer than the winter

Hope everyone else that stops by has a great day - I'm going to rack my brain for a new name for April

      Hi Everybody!:wavin:

Lav, you're right. I couldn't stay away. Would it hurt you to be wrong once in a while? Come on, just once. It won't kill you, ya know!:H:l The girls sure are getting big. Great news to hear that Miss Lily slept through the night.

Star and Papmom, thank you for your support regarding the odd encounter with this acquaintance. Star, she swears there are no openings in her field close to home. Enjoy yourself with your friends this weekend. I know you'll be AF. You are a vision of strength.

Pap, you're right. I probably will help her....she was doing what was best for her and I have to accept the consequences of my behavior back then....people had to distance themselves because I was erratic and unreliable. I hear the enthusiasm in your voice when you talk about agility. I forgot to tell you that my accountant just got a papillon puppy...oh.....this cutie pie could easily fit in my Mary Poppins' purse. I get teased constantly about my multi-compartmented handbag. Yup, it truly is a Mary Poppins' purse/ Need a lamp, or a new set of living room furniture....I'm sure I have it in this purse.

Jolie-you're not allowed to touch a paintbrush in your house. You crack me up. I couldn't paint my way out of a paper bag.

I had a cringe moment yesterday. My favorite boss, who offered me my first job out of college, called me yesterday, DRUNK at 1:00 p.m. I worked for him 28 years ago and now he is 63 and I knew he was a hard core partier at age 35 but thought maybe he had outgrown all the drinking. NOPE. I asked him if he had been drinking and he said, "I am on my first beer." Of course, he repeated himself constantly, slurring words and laughing like a drunk person. It reminded me of all the times I drunk-dialed family and friends, not realizing how I sounded. A good reminder for me to be AF.

A warm and cheery hello to everyone here. I'm off to work now. I have missed you guys and wanted to tell you.

      Have a wonderful AF Thursday!

        Good morning Marchers!

Honestly, I can't remember what we called ourselves on this thread last April
Was it April Achievers or something like that? We can do a rerun.......April Achievers2

I knew you couldn't stay away Rusty :H
Don't kid yourself though - apparently I've been wrong about plenty of things in my life. But no one is perfect, right?

Dark, damp & yucky here but hoping the snow stays way north. This granny is damn tired of dealing with snow on her own, boo hoo!

I need to call my DIL to see if I'm needed to watch EB this afternoon. Her pregnancy brain is in complete control these days & she forgets everything :H It's kind of a little glimpse into the post menopausal brain, no kidding!!! I imagine today will be the last day she will be able to go to her class as she is due next Tuesday. She has some deal with her professor about finishing up the semester at some point.

Wishing everyone a happy & AF Thursday!
        Lav

Marvelous, Magnificent March - Week 5

Afternoon lovely people. Just a quick post as I have to get ready for choir.

I haven't been to the lima bean shop yet -I'm hoping to go next week.

just wanted to share something in case you don't know. If you are on thyroxine (I am) and you take calcium tablets you should allow a few hours to pass after taking the thyroxine before taking the calcium.
Calcium interferes with the absorption of thyroxine. I was at the chemist yesterday picking up my prescription and the chemist took me into a little room to explain! But you probably already know this, cos the UK is about 20 years behind the US!

Right I just gotta have a shower, I've been to zumba and I'm all sweaty - yuk.

If I don't get back on after choir have a good Thursday folks, and I'll see you in April

Marvelous, Magnificent March - Week 5

                Hi everyone

Hard to believe that it is the last day of March already.

Rusty - Maybe you are right and she was doing whatever she needed in order to maintain her sobriety or she could be one of those people who only ever come near you when they are looking for something? I'm always amazed at the brass neck of my inlaws when they do that. Not a word for maybe a year and then when they want something, never off the phone!! Dont know how well you know her but just throwing that into the mix, have a think about it.

Thanks for sharing regarding your old boss. We all need to be reminded about how we sounded drunk.

Lav - seems you are on stork watch again, baby is due this week, isnt he?

Star - Enjoy your freshly painted house, its a great feeling isnt it. You too Jolie.

I like Appreciating April AF so will be go with that?

Everyone else big hello, have to dash.

Marvelous, Magnificent March - Week 5

Dear Marchers - a quick good Thursday morning hello! I have been thinking about everyone, but haven't been able to hop and and get caught up with all the posts. Today I'm sending greetings first, and later today will try to get read back through the week...
LBH - the last thing I read was your post on Lav's bday. How wonderful to hear your voice, I hope that you will continue to keep this thread in your storybook.

I had a long and wonderful day yesterday. HB and I are achieving a long-held dream to take riding lessons, and we had our 2nd lesson (here in AZ). Some of you may remember my 'aha' on our Italy vacation last year with horseback riding. We hope to go back to Italy in late May, depending on $$, but this time I want to be more prepared. Rustop, I wish I could see your girls ride - it must be beautiful.

Then (it was HBs day off) we took the dogs up to a town 2 hours away to visit an Holistic vet that worked on my sweet boy dog who has the physical challenges. It was fascinating to hear that his TCM diagnosis is the same as mine (!), and he got acupuncture just where I usually get the treatments. Hmmmm. This town is at a higher elevation, so it is still early spring there, and we went past dozens of plum trees in bloom - what bliss. I haven't seen a fruit tree bloom for years, and the fragrance was heavenly. That alone was worth the trip.

Hope all of you are well - Rusty, when is your exam? I will catch up on everyone's story soon, in the meantime, wishing you a wonderful day.

Cross post Sooty and Rustop! Gotta go now - dogs will be chewing my arm off for breakfast in a moment if I don't get their meals ready....
                      cheers!

Lav I feel like this is my family...it's where I started and I have become very attached to this thread.

Even though I manage to have the odd drink without terrible consequences, I know that I will never revert back to being a normal drinker and I always have to watch myself.

Deep down in my heart I know that I will one day be totally AF.

                            Can I stay please? xxxx
