April Appreciation AF - week 2

    Hi everyone

Another beautiful day here. Bought some paint for windows and doors and gate. When it is so nice out it makes you want to be out there doing something.

Went to Weight Watchers and stayed the same. Not surprized with the amount I ate all week, just glad I did not gain.

Good luck with your exams Rusty. Sorry about your friend Jolie. As Lav says mammograms not pleasant but can be life saving. Guess I have that to look forward to this year after I reach 50!!!

    Everyone else big hello.

Appreciative Allies! Love that name, Rusty!
Chill - good for you for bouncing back on this news - keep hunting, the right apple will fall from the tree. Sending you 'smooth sailing' vibes...
Lav - what a great image it is of your 3 generations of Lav women going through a beautiful landscape...
Dew - I think perhaps you were just weary? I was exhausted from just reading your post!
Pap - I recently saw a decal on the back of a truck that said 'PomMom' - I wonder if there is a PapMom version out there?
Speaking of biking/hiking/walking....I used to feel that there was some special (extremely momentary) vision that I had of nature when I was outside and had been drinking. I thought I would not have that 'connection' again AF. But recently I have begun seeing things that I have been looking at for years, but haven't seen (like a mountain range in the distance which I never noticed). So strange, but now I see depth of color and the play of shadows and light and color contrasts very keenly. I also am noticing decorataive objects in places that I have been going for years - when I compliment the owners, they tell me that it's been that way for years. Hmmmm....I think something important has been gained.....
cheers for a happy day, all
      to the light

Yoohoo, well I?m feeling a bit better today and woke with a spring in my step after a lengthy sleep of 8 and a half hours ? unheard of! I think that?s probably the first straight through sleep I?ve had since I stopped drinking and I?ve run out of melatonin so it was ?au natural?

Lovely to hear from you Rusty and you really don?t have long until your exam so keep your focus and I?m confident you will achieve success, you do work so hard and I?m aware of how tiring the travelling can be both physically and emotionally yet you cope with it all with great enthusiasm. You should be very proud of yourself ? give yourself a big pat on the back from me . Lav vit D & calcium is one that I don?t take at the moment but I have seen it recommended, I?ll need to rethink that one. Here I am thinking of reducing the amount of supps I take and now you are suggesting taking more!

        Rustop
you are making me feel guilty, I had someone out last week giving me a quote to paint all the external woodwork on my cottage, fencing and garage and he is starting on Sunday. I should have done it a year or two ago but I just never got the time to do it myself or the money pulled together to pay someone so it will look great once it?s finished as its looking quite shabby. If I have any funds left I plan on buying a couple of new pots and some plants for the front door and a couple of hanging baskets. Cyn
I can so relate to you seeing things with new eyes and being more aware as I too am finding that true for me, there is something about that alcohol haze that completely shuts down your senses.

        Have a lovely evening friends,

        Dewdrop :h
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

          Hi Guys
A very late check in from me tonight, McLibra took me out for a very nice dinner.

I have had more disapointments today, having exhausted all the property in my Parents town, I moved further afield and made a shortlist of 12. Only 3 will consider pets :upset: and my parents have been refused as guarantors as they are retired and not earning. They will find out tomorrow is any of the 3 will accept me without a job. If they say no im not sure what else to do.....

McLibra was very harsh with me and told me Im being completely over the top about my dog and that I should rehome her here in Portugal which would give me much more freedom! His words were "you need to get things in perspective, its only a dog." Ok who want to slap him 1st!!! I would sooner chop off my right arm and leave it behind.

            Aw geez Chill.........
Leaving your dog behind would be rough. Put that thought last on your list! Apparently McLibra has never owned a dog.....

I'm not familiar (of course) with renting properties on your side of the pond. Around here, in most cases you can have a small dog provided you pay a deposit the owner can use, if necessary to make repairs for damages caused by the dog (carpeting, etc).

Keep looking, something will pop up for you

Rustop, they push us to start the yearly mamograms at age 40 over here - ugh! I think I put it off until 43 but have been there every year since. Enjoy your painting - I need to do some of that myself but am really NOT in the mood to get started.

cyn, it was very nice to introduce my six week old granddaughter to the sights & smells of the gardens yesterday. Of course she was asleep in the baby carrier most of the time. I really hope she grows up to appreciate the wonder of it all. Isn't it wonderful to see things with a clear head & unobstructed visioon these AF days???

Rusty, are you still in Indy?

Dewdrop, as soon as it stops raining here I plan to make a trip to my favorite nursery & get as many plants as I can fit into my car. I have big pots on my deck & by my doors that are sitting empty. I love to bring home some color

I also need to go find a bigger box for my chicks. One week here & they are already jumping up on the edge of the box & considering taking a flight - somewhere :H

            Wishing everyone a good night!

Me! Me first! I can't believe McStupid said that to you!! Well, like Lav said, he obviously has never owned pets!! My dogs/cats ARE my kids and no one would leave kids behind right? Chill, I KNOW something will pop up. Keep trying and PLEASE don't give what he said another thought. Sure he's just worried about you but your beautiful pup is part of you and your life. Rehome? No way!! Oh gosh I feel a major rant coming on!! Help!!!!

                Good Evening Friends:

Lav - The thought of Longwood Gardens brings back so many beautiful memories for me. I used to take my mother there and we both really enjoyed the beauty. I need to put that on my list of places to visit soon!

Chill - As Lav and Papmom have already pointed out - McLibra apparently has never had a close relationship with a dog. I'm with you - I'd rather cut my arm off than leave my dog behind. There is no way I would part from my one trusted friend

It's been a rather uneventful week so far. After experiencing a rather summer like day yesterday, we are back in the miserable damp, cold and rainy Spring weather in these parts. It is very frustrating. I want consistently beautiful spring days NOW!

Rusty - Good luck with your exam - we all know you are going to ace it. No pressure!

Dew - Glad you got your step back. I know how it feels - I was out of sorts and feeling very low on energy for a bit there, too. It's nice getting back into the groove.

Hope everyone is well... sleep well my friends...

April Appreciation AF - week 2

                  Good morning friends
I woke up with a sense of calm, of course it will all work out, how could I doubt the Universe will take care of me?!

When clearing out some cupboards yesterday I came across an assignment I did in 2008 for the Artists Way. (I know it's been mentioned here before, some of you may have done it) Anyway you had to write "morning pages" each day for 12 weeks and I re-read mine like I was reading about someone else's life. Ooooh the hangovers I suffered! Crippling, immobilizing, horrendous hangovers. The worst were always on Mondays as I would go to the beach for lunch, drink copious amounts of wine, hit the bar on the way home, then open more when I finally got home until I passed out. Starting each week in this way was so depressing and it seemed to take me till wed to recover (still drinking of course) then on a Thursday I usually over did it again in celebration of it nearly being the weekend! I did mention regularly in a half hearted way that I really needed to quit drinking... Today I just thank God I'm no longer living in that misery.

I have to look out for some kind of appointment for May 10th, don't like to miss out at the moment all I can think of is that it's Wayne Dyer's birthday that day.

Talking of dates..... Our very own Paguy is 9 months AF today! :yay: :yay: :yay:
                  Congratulations John - awesome achievement!

I have signed up again for the Chopra Centre 21 day meditation which starts again today, if anyone else doing it?

Oooooh nearly forgot! Happy humpback day appreciators!

Morning all and happy humpday. I'm sorry I've been absent - daughter needed laptop for job application so I generously handed it over !

I've had a quick skim over posts - Chill McLibra is stupid, of course you couldn't leave your dog I can't believe he could even say that. Bet you're glad that you're leaving him in Portugal

We don't have mammograms until 50 and then they're every 2 years. I know they hurt like the dickens but thankfully they don't last very long.

I gotta rush, am visiting a friend who's not very well and I've got to do her shopping before I go.

                    Have a good day gang
                    Love Sooty

Oops nearly forgot - trillions of congrats John xxx

You must have come across it for a reason. Of course you cant leave your dog behind. Non animal lovers just dont understand and you know what their lives are all the emptier for it.

                          Good morning all...

Chill, I understand about your love for your doggy. Keep searching, there has to be a place for one person and a dog. A rental house, maybe? My daughter just moved and she has a big ole dog, they had to search for a time to find a place with a little yard, and they did. It just took time. It is harder, much harder, long distance. Sending you good luck vibes. I like how you affirmed, of course the Universe is taking care of me.

I am struggling with an old situation, someone at work who is just plain a bully. I need to find a new way to deal with it. Take control, take charge, etc. Some new expectations from our supervisor will be a good thing, and I am going to go for it, with enthusiasm and energy.

Oh, I had to tell you, I rode my bike to the library yesterday after work and felt like a kid. It was so fun. I am really looking forward to the warmer weather.

It's hump day, thank goodness. I hope this dark cloud feeling over me lifts and flies away.

Dew, glad you had a good night's sleep. It is hard to feel you are your best when tired.

Rusty, you are in the final stretch of studying. Preparation is everything.

John, nine months today is so wonderful. Reading your posts I feel a burden has been lifted from you in so many ways. You are able to focus on what is best for you. Thanks for all your positive uplifting posts.

To all, have a great AF day.

Hey Chill-what did you boss say when you told him you were moving back home? Is there anyway he can keep you on the payroll as a telecommuter so you could show you have steady income? What about your sisters or soon to be ex hubby-can they act as your guarantor until you get a job or can you stay with a sister or a friend temporarily? Just throwing out some stuff.

                            John-:yougo:CONGRATULATIONS ON NINE MONTHS!!! :yougo:

Its so much easier now in most ways isn't it? You've faced some tough situations these past 9 months and have stayed true to you and your health. You rock!!

OK just had to say those 2 quick things now off to work.

Yes Chill-I signed up for the challenge too and happy to see that they are now making it accessible to smartphones. I got through 6 days last time and all of a sudden they changed the format and I was no longer able to access it through my phone which is at my bedside. I gave up and never finished it. I sent many emails to their tech person and made comments but never got a reply back. Glad to see they finally listened. Hoping tonite will be a full nite's sleep!

Good morning all and what a positive place this has been!

Chill - agree with everyone else - could never leave our most faithful companions behind. He just doesn't get it.

Paguy - :wd::wd::wd: on 9 months - you are my hero!

Sooty - aren't we good moms? I too have to always go looking for the laptop (usually in my daughters room) but don't mind sharing - unless it cuts into my MWO time

Wow - I'm kind of surprised that you all don't start having mammograms until 50. Yes they can be painful (although the place where I go has recently improved their equipment), but is definitely a yearly event on my calendar. Thinking about finding a Susan G. Komen walk in my area this year - just want to be more involved and help out if I can.

Star - sorry for the bully situation. That's tough - hope your supervision steps up and takes care of this person - makes for a really crappy work day - huh?

Lav, Rustop, Papmom - hope you guys all have a great hump day!
